TODAY's HADITH

Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "There are ten demands of pure nature: trimming the moustache, letting the beard grow, using Miswak (tooth-stick), snuffing up water into the nose (in ablution), paring the nails, washing the bases of the finger joints; plucking the underarm hair, removing of the p***c hair and removing impurities with water from the affected part after a call of nature."

The subnarrator said: I forgot the tenth but it might possibly be the rinsing of the mouth (in ablution).[Muslim].

📚Riyad as-Salihin, 1204
In-Book Reference: Book 8, Hadith 214

Islam is a pure and clean religion. Cleanliness is part of the fitrah (natural disposition) of a Muslim.

Following the sunnah of personal hygiene helps to maintain and preserve cleanliness, health, and dignity.

Keeping a neat appearance, such as trimming the moustache, cutting the nails, and caring for the beard, are all signs of a good character.

Purification is necessary to achieve the best state of worship. Using the miswak and performing ablution are ways in which a Muslim can prepare himself for prayer.

Islam encourages us to take care of ourselves. As such, removing unwanted body hair and taking part in personal hygiene are considered part of the sunnah.

The sunnah is good for our bodies and souls. It helps us to take care of ourselves and achieve the best state of being for worship.

Small acts of sunnah bring great reward. By performing them, we show our love and devotion to the Prophet ﷺ.
