Sunday service10th May 2020 message: The day of the Lord (2peter 3: 10).By pastor Emmanuel Matthias.
1. Why coming as a thief in the night , thief use to come unexpectedly , suddenly , when u never expect it , but he will
not come as a thief in the night to us as a church because our Lord Jesus Christ told us to watch and pray (mark 13:32-33), meaning that God will reveal that day to the church , paul said in 1Theas 5 : 2 to 5, again the in Amos 3:7 , God revealeth His secret to his servants ,again when God destroyed sondorm and Gomorrah He told Abraham in Gen 18:17 -23 again when he was about to destroy the world of Noah , God informed Noah (Gen 6:11-13) the church is the wife of God and u can be doing something important and not informing your wife so the church will know but the people of the world will not know ,why , because of the worldly enjoyment , because of the love this world (1John 2:15-17 , Matt 24:37-39 ).

2. Why coming as a thief in the night, night is when people are sleeping,. to sleep is when you are no longer having intrest in the things of God, to sleep means backsliding in worshipping and serving God or when you no longer care of your spiritual life , many believers are sleeping, they need to wake up , we need to remain fervent in the Lord and in faith , taking heed, watching and praying , waiting for the day of our Lord Jesus Christ .

THERE ARE THINGS THAT CAN MAKE A CHILD OF GOD TO BACKSLIDE IN THE THINGS OF GOD OR TO SLEEP SPIRITUALLY .

1. When expectations , hope lingers for so long . (Proverb 13:12, Psalm 42 :5 ).
2. Hardship and too much suffering but look at these scriptures (Romans 8:35, Romans 8:17-18, 1Peter 5:10).
3. Operations from the wicked men of this world (Matt 24:21-22).like what we are seeing now
4. When iniquities or Abomination is to much on Earth (Matt 24:12).
5. When you envy the prosperity of the unrighteous (Psalm 73:3 to 17 )
