In February 2018, a Chinese Christian named Joseph Turdakuna was arrested by Chinese authorities and imprisoned. Prior to this, in 2016, his pastor had shared a vision in which he saw Joseph trapped in a dark room until a powerful hand appeared and brought him out into freedom.

This vision gave Joseph hope that he would experience divine deliverance. During his detention, he was subjected to harsh treatment and kept in a dark, windowless room.

Yet, even in that difficult environment, Joseph believed that the same God who had revealed the vision to his pastor would also bring about his deliverance. Therefore, Joseph used the opportunity of his imprisonment to share Christ with other prisoners. After ten months, he was eventually released, although he was placed under house arrest.

In 2019, Joseph, his wife, and their eleven-year-old son fled to Kyrgyzstan. When efforts were made to return them to China, Joseph sought help from Christian organizations in the United States. In an unexpected turn of events, the family received assistance that enabled them to enter the United States and eventually experience freedom.

Psalm 34:19 gives us a powerful assurance: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” Notice that Scripture does not say the righteous will never face affliction. It says "God will deliver them from it."

Therefore, when you find yourself in a fiery trial, do not allow the intensity of the heat to steal your joy. Keep your heart full of faith and your mouth full of praise. Your praise declares that God remains greater than whatever you are facing.

Daniel entered the lions’ den, but God shut the lions’ mouths. Peter was imprisoned and guarded by soldiers, yet God sent an angel to bring him out.

These stories remind us that no situation is beyond God's ability to deliver. Sometimes the way of escape may not appear immediately, but that does not mean God is absent. He is working even when we cannot see His hand.

So, in the midst of your fiery trial, refuse to surrender to fear, frustration, or discouragement. Maintain your joy, which is an expression of your confidence in God's faithfulness.

As you continue to bless God, He will turn your captivity around, break barriers, and give you a testimony of amazing deliverance.

PRAYER:
Lord, I thank You for the grace to trust You even in difficult seasons. Help me to remain joyful and full of praise in every fiery trial, knowing that You are faithful to deliver me and turn every challenge into a testimony, in Jesus’ Name.

In 2017, six Protestant pastors in India were arrested after holding a house prayer meeting in a village. Hindu activists had reported them to the police, and they were taken to prison. This was at a time of growing hostility toward Christians in the region.

Before the pastors arrived at the prison, the Hindu inmates had already been told by prison guards to mistreat them. During their first three days, the prisoners insulted these pastors , pulled their hair, took away their bedrolls, and forced them to sleep on the floor.

Yet the pastors refused to respond with anger. Instead, they demonstrated the love of Christ and continued sharing the Gospel. Gradually, something remarkable happened. The same prisoners who had mistreated them began gathering around them to listen to the message of Jesus.

After nine days, the pastors appeared in court, and the prosecution could not establish the charges against them. They were released on bail.

Rather than leaving prison bitter or discouraged, they departed rejoicing and thanking God. They viewed their imprisonment not simply as suffering, but as an unexpected opportunity to introduce prisoners to Christ.

The Blood of Jesus gives us the spiritual strength to endure trials with joy and emerge victorious. Because Christ has already conquered sin, death, and the grave, our challenges do not have the final word.

Jesus Himself demonstrated this attitude when He gave thanks before going to the Cross. He knew the suffering ahead, yet He also knew the glory beyond it. Hebrews 12:2 says that “for the joy that was set before him” He endured the Cross and despised the shame. His joy was rooted in the victory that awaited Him.

As believers, we can face difficult seasons with the same confidence. We may pass through valleys, opposition, disappointment, or affliction, but Christ gives us grace to remain joyful and steadfast.

Hebrews 13:15 calls us to offer the sacrifice of praise continually. Not only when everything is going well, but even when the answer has not yet appeared.

Today, be assured that the Blood of Jesus has secured your victory. So keep rejoicing in Christ and stay anchored in His Word, because you will certainly overcome at last, and your story will end in praise.

Father, please enable me to be joyful and praise You at all times. By the power of the Blood of Jesus, every form of depression and discouragement is destroyed in my life and my tests are turning to testimonies, in Jesus’ Name.
