OUR ROCK IS NOT LIKE THEIR ROCK
The last time I wrote, I spoke about the authority we have in Jesus Christ. This topic brings to my remembrance an encounter that I had with a Muslim several years back.
I first met the young man sometimes around 2009. He came through a brother whom God had used me for. The Muslim wanted to inquire from the Lord about certain ladies he was dating. He wanted to know who to go for among them for marriage. I told him to give his life to Jesus Christ first. I told him Jesus is only committed to guiding his own sheep. He declined and left.
To my surprise about 5 years later, this Muslim came to meet me again. This time I was no longer residing in the same city where he was, I had relocated to a town in the same state. When I asked what brought him, he stated the same objective he had at that time and I gave him the same reply I gave at that time.
The man still declined to surrender to the Lord Jesus. Rather, he started saying that he believed that God will use me to guide him. I told him I cannot do anything for him by myself. I let him know that the only person who can help me is the same Jesus that he was rejecting. I told him Jesus will have to speak to me before I can have a message for him.
Despite my explanation he still declined to yield to the Lord but kept affirming faith in the anointing of God upon my life. I told him that the first thing Jesus said I should tell him was to yield to His Lordship. When he wouldn’t still yield, I suggested he should go his Imam. I even asked him why he would spend money and travel miles to see a pastor in order to hear from God when he knows he doesn’t want Jesus himself. Doesn’t he know that pastors are Jesus’ servants?
“Why don’t you go and make your enquiries from your imam? I asked him.
“YOU CHRISTIANS HAVE POWER WITH GOD THAT WE MUSLIMS DO NOT HAVE?” he replied.
Oh boy! I was flabbergasted and overwhelmed. Come to think of it, some dumb believers don’t even know this obvious fact.

WHO HAS TAKEN OVER YOUR SPACE?
Nature abhors vacuum and every domain must have a ruler. Even in places where there are no formal governments, hooligans and thugs quickly assume power and authority to govern and began to provide security and collect taxes. The earth was not created without a governing authority either.

When God created the earth and everything in it, He gave the first man, Adam and his race, the governing authority over it. Unfortunately, that man got fooled by the devil and lost the authority given to him over the earth realm. The earth thereby came under the government of the devil and his thugs.

All thanks to God, through Jesus vicarious death on the cross of Calvary, by which He defeated the greatest power the devil could boast of (power of death), that authority was restored to man two thousand years ago.

The stories in the Old Testament are mirrors, parables and pointers to what God will later do under a later dispensation (The New Testament). Jesus the Second Adam, received fresh governing mandate over the earth from God. He delivered this mandate over to His church and went back to heaven, expecting His church rule on His behalf.
That you belong to Jesus is a great privilege. It is your entrance into power and authority on this planet. If you are not operating in your divine authority on earth, someone, somewhere has taken your place. The devil has stolen your seat. The tragedy is that you are the one who let him. It is either you let him through ignorance or you let him because you were not acting your authority.
Remember: when government collapses in any society, thugs quickly takes over to exercise the authority of government. How long would you allow the devil to take your place?

GOD CREATED MAN IN HIS OWN IMAGE AND MEN CREATED GOD IN THEIR OWN IMAGES TOO!
Christians are the God or the Christ men get to see today. We are the Bible they are reading. If a Christian man or woman leads a weak, broken and defeated life, the people around him will see the God he serves as weak, handicapped and incapable of saving him. The unbelieving world will quickly use the Christian man’s life to justify their unbelief in Christ. You cannot blame them. God has been made to look weak and defeated by that Christian man’s life.
On the other hand if a Christian leads a victorious life, the people around him will began to envy him and would most likely want to draw nearer and inquire about the God he serves.
Our lives therefore, are either catalysts to the spread of the gospel or hindrances to it. We are showcasing the nature, the glory and the power of God or we are recasting God in an image reflected by our defeated lives. Victory is therefore a non-negotiable thing for a Christian. The eternal well being of the watching world depends on it.

TRUE CHRISTIANITY IS NOT FOR COWARDS
Yesterday, I wrote that for a Christian believer to be free, he or she has to be prepared to ‘look for trouble’; particularly, the Enemy’s trouble. He has to show in clear terms that he is not afraid of a fight.
Many believers have a perverted view of the Lord Jesus. The imagined the Lord to be someone who is extremely gentle when it comes to matters of faith. I have a shocker for you:
The Bible says in the days when Pilate was governor over Judea and Herod was tetrarch over Galilee, Anais and Capias were High Priests (Luke 1:3,4), the word of God came to John the Baptist to preach repentance and John commenced his ministry. John commenced his ministry when two mad men, Pilate and Herod ruled over the place where he was called to preach and John preached anyway!
John the Baptist later got imprisoned for preaching and Jesus heard it. The Bible said as soon as Jesus heard that John has been imprisoned, he started his own ministry too, in the same Galilee where John has been imprisoned! Does that look like a man who is afraid of a fight?

Coming home, The Nigerian Senate is trying to pass a law banning preaching in buses. This law is directed at Christians. They know that it is only Christians that preach in buses. Yet for ages the Muslims have been blaring their ‘call to prayer’ on horn speakers which disturbs entire neighborhood across the nation at about 4:30 every morning and nobody thought of enacting a curbing legislation in that arena. You know why? The government knows that there will be hell to pay from the Muslims if they dare try that.
This scenario is showing you the true nature of the Devil. He always try to attack the weak in order to make himself look strong. The government knows that Christians are cowards and will not fight back. But I am grateful for the likes of Bishop Francis Wale Oke who has responded by saying we will all troop out to preach in buses and dare the government to put us all in prison.

TO BE FREE, YOU HAVE TO LOOK FOR TROUBLE
A lot of people are confused, broken discouraged and almost at the point of given up. They couldn’t understand why God is silent on them. They are waiting for God while God is waiting for them. People who had faith know that waiting for God at times is the most stupid thing to do, most especially went it comes to getting freedom or deliverance from situations that have mocked you for so long.
Get this faith: faith is designed to make your case different. It is ordained so that a child of God walk unmolested where circumstances and Satan are having a field day trampling over the sons of Adam. It is a tragedy if your situation as a child of God is no different from that of the world around you.
Between 300 to 400 years after Israel left Egypt and settled in the Promised Land, they had become slaves to the Philistines. But Samson, a God-chosen man among them was living larger than life. He was going out and coming in among the oppressors of his nation as if they did not exist. He even went to marry a wife from among them, looking for an occasion to fight them, which he got (Judges 16:4). You can say that Samson went to the land of the enemy to look for trouble.
How different he was from the rank of castrated believers we have today who are afraid of everything from cockroaches to rats to agents of darkness. They will have heart attack if Satan himself should visit them. But a man of faith would visit the den of Satan for a fight if need, so that he might walk free forever.

UNTIL GOD FIND HIS MAN
Waiting upon God is the one of the most commonly misused phrase today. You hear people say they have been waiting upon God for many years for this or that miracle. I came here to tell you that some of your waiting are not actually on the Lord but are occasioned by your ignorance and unbelief. A man needs to know how to move God into action concerning his matter, else he will tarry long in captivity and call it waiting upon the Lord. Faith is what moves God into action all the time.
Your captivity will continue until you learn how to move God into action over your matter. God is always looking for someone with faith through whom He can do amazing things that will draw others into His salvation. The miracle you seek is not just something God does to make your joy full. The miracle you seek has the capacity to draw multitudes to the side of God in the cosmic battle between light and darkness for the souls of men. God Himself is very much interested in seeing you get the miracles, they are proclamations of His glory, so relax.

But know this: until God found Moses who was ready to confront the oppressor, He didn’t order Pharaoh to let Israel go. Until He found an Elijah who could confront a rebellious nation and its king, prophets of Baal hold sway in the land. Abraham took his life in his hand and pursued four kings who had taken his brother (Lot) captives and defeated them. He succeeded to rescue not only Lot, but the entire people of S***m among whom Lot dwell. God gave him the victory as he moved by faith. You wont be able to move your life forward, until you are ready to move by faith.

ARE YOU NOT TIRED OF THE STATUS QUO?

Many are tired of the present state of things around them but just do not know how to bring about the changes they desire. Some blamed the government, generational curses, ancestry and even nationality for their predicament. They wished they were born elsewhere other than their present country of their birth. There are those who blame God for every predicament, even when they do not want that God to have a say in their personal lives. No one is taking personal responsibility for the choices they made in life. It is always someone’s else fault or God’s fault.

A friend of mines once told me that you cannot help anyone who despises your counsel. If they believe they know better, they shouldn’t need your help at all.

Get this, your life or situation is not going to change at all until you start taking responsibility for it. The outcomes you are having today is as a result of the actions you took or refused to take yesterday. I have a saying, “If witches succeeded to kill you, it is your fault. If they could not, it is still your fault” You are the one to decide which fault you would rather let it be.

As a Christian, God has given you the instrument you need to change the status quo. It is called faith. Faith is acting on the strength of God’s word. God does not deliver your inheritance into your lap while you just sit still. He delivered them when you take action on the basis of His word.
You have to brood over (meditate) a particular promise God made to you personally or to believers generally on that issue until you see a way to act on the basis of it. The action you took on the basis of God’s promise is what is called faith. If your faith has no action, it is a dead one. It cannot produce any result at all. This I think is where many people are in their journey with God.

COURAGE: A RARE COMMODITY IN TODAY’S CHRISTIAN CHURCH
David, a king in Israel, longed to drink water from a well in Bethlehem. This well was situated right inside the gate of the city of Bethlehem, a city which as of that time was under the control of the Philistines. A Philistine division kept guard over that city. Yet David expressed a strong desire to drink water from that particular well.
Three men among David mighty men, risked their lives, fought their way into the city of Bethlehem and brought water from that well. They carved a place for themselves that no other men could attain in David’s army.
David was a prophetic type of Jesus Christ. As David raised a band of mighty men who risked their lives to serve his kingdom, the Lord Jesus also raised 120 men on the day of Pentecost to advance the cause of the gospel. Jesus actually called the entire Church to undertake this task, not just these few, only 120 reported for duty on the day of commissioning. Many of these people paid the supreme price for following the Lord to fulfill this mission.
Shouldn’t today’s Church have known that the great commission is a call to pledge her head to heaven? You think the Lord was not aware that there will be fierce tribes and religions who will violently resist the gospel message before sending us? Yet He says GO! He is simply longing like David of old, “How I wish I drink water from the well which is within the gate of Bethlehem!”
Can Christ still get mighty men among the rank and file of believers and ministers we are raising in today’s Christian Church? Yet Bible schools, churches and ministries springs up everywhere, all claiming to be preparing the saints for the work of the ‘ministry’. You would want to ask, what are they producing? Courage is not the absence of fear, it is willingness to act in spite of your fears. But Christ has already been betrayed in the house of His friends.

WHO BROUGHT THIS CURSE UPON THE CHRISTIAN BELIEVERS?
There is a theology well spread in Christian circles that is responsible for the preponderance of cowards in the Body of Christ today. When I say cowards in the body of Christ, I took exemption of our brothers and sisters paying terrible prices for following the Lord in regions where there are grievous persecutions of the saints for the faith. Before these ones, many of us would even be ashamed to call ourselves Christians.
Sermons abound today assuring believers that God does not want them to suffer at all. Now we have produced in the Western Hemisphere and much of sub Saharan Africa, entire generation of Christians with no spine at all. We have produced cowards who could not stand for the cause of the kingdom and for truth. Now you come across believers who plead the blood of Jesus Christ at the sight of rats and cockroaches! What a life!
The idea that a believer is not called to suffer is a doctrine from the pit of hell. Following Christ is costly. It will cost you your well-pampered sins. It will yank you away from your most cherished idols. It will even deny you legitimate needs. Anyone who planned to last in the Christian race must arm himself with this truth and prepare to accommodate these possibilities. If you cannot, how would you survive in the days of the revelation of the man of sin (The anti-Christ)?
