A Short Story of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola

Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola (1904–1959) was a great Nigerian Christian evangelist and one of the most influential revivalists in the history of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC).

He was born in Odo-Owa, Kwara State, Nigeria, in 1904. From a young age, Babalola had a strong calling to serve God. He became widely known for his powerful preaching, deep prayer life, and faith in God's power.

In the late 1920s and 1930s, his ministry became a major part of the great revival that swept across western Nigeria. Many people gathered to hear him preach, and his ministry was associated with testimonies of healing, deliverance, and miracles. His preaching encouraged many people to turn away from sin and accept Jesus Christ.

A famous part of his ministry was the 1930 Great Revival, which began at Oke-Ooye, Ilesa, and drew large crowds from different places. His ministry played an important role in the growth and development of the CAC movement.

Apostle Babalola remained devoted to prayer, evangelism, holiness, and the preaching of the Gospel until his death in 1959. Today, he is remembered as one of Nigeria's great Christian revivalists, and his legacy continues to influence the Christ Apostolic Church and many Pentecostal Christians.

His life teaches us that a person who is fully surrendered to God can become an instrument for revival and transformation in a generation.
