Principles of Finding the Right Spouse

1. Knowledge:
Ask questions and understand what you are getting into. Hosea 4:6

2. Maturity:
It doesn't have to do with age. It has to do with emotional, social, and financial independence. Make healthy decisions, not decisions driven by emotions. Feel secure without depending on another person for your happiness or validation. Build your relationship with God. Isaiah 26:3

Be able to forgive quickly. Have financial stability: a good job and savings. Be able to meet your basic needs. Stay away from loans. Have your own house. Have domestic qualifications. Be clean. Learn to manage money.

3. Spiritual Homogeneity:
Believe in the same God. Your partner must be born again. There is a difference between being religious and being born again. Amos 3:3; 2 Corinthians 6:14

4. Same Spiritual Family and Values:
You must come from the same spiritual family and have the same values. Genesis 24:3–4

5. Character:
The person's value system and character matter. True character is consistent in all situations and towards all people.

6. Pastoral and Parental Counsel:
Listen to them as they guide you in the Lord. Ephesians 6:1
