Good morning.
As we round off on this series, we shall be seeing how the five fold ministries of the 𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬, 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐬, 𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬, 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 will get the people of God perfected for 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬. We have seen originally that the essence of mind renewal is to ensure that the damages done to the will, mind and emotions of the saved man be repaired. That way, he will discover the will of God for him from level to level. .

This work that the servants of God have to do on God's people is what is called discipleship. Discipleship entails a lot. The writings of the Epistles for instance is a way to disciple the people of the church. I am of the opinion that a new testament minister that takes his teachings or preaching from every other place but the epistles will end up building an unhealthy group of kingdom breed. There was a time when many new members of the body were programmed to pursue success and prosperity as the things that the faith is all about. There was a time when a generation were taught several lesson that were detrimental to the progress of God's army, the church. For instance, there was an erroneous teaching that suggests that men could be sick and diseased as ways by which God would like to teach them lessons.

In Acts 2 ;42, the apostles set up the apparatus of what to do and how to do them so they can end up fulfilling the instruction to disciple the people. They started teaching the people their doctrines, they continued in fellowship, breaking of bread (communion) and prayers. Look out for a church that understands the essence of all these practices and give yourself to the structures. As you do, you will be discovering more and more of what your life is all about. Similarly, you will be discovering what to deal with in your life to be able to achieve your purpose. Submit to them (the rigors) no matter what because they are helpers of your destiny.

Good morning.
Yesterday, we saw that there are pedigrees a man must attain before he can be permitted to work in church. He must be full of the Holy Ghost, full of wisdom and have integrity. Why are all these necessary? It is because what we are doing is different from the secular. It is important to know the journey into one's discovery of purpose. Most people don't know where God is taking them into in life until a certain time when the church they attend has helped them to make the discovery. For instance, Stephen never knew he was called to be a prophet, Philip did not know he was called to be an evangelist. Nicholas did not know he was called to be a teacher. They all came to the awareness after they started to serve food in the first church. However, they, by the simple teachings of the apostles had been paying attention to building themselves up spiritually, getting wise by the word of God and consciously working on integrity such that on the day that a simple assignment came knocking they were qualified by a voting.

I will say that the first thing to do as a believer is to be adequate in character and in the spirit before a need arises in your church. God will use a church's need to hook people into the consecration their destinies would need that they may not have subjected themselves to willingly. These duties in the church exposed them to the apostles. The apostles were able to see their faults and weaknesses easily so they could be corrected. They could hold them accountable. They had to be sending reports of their doings. The apostles could call them to order when they saw faults, dealing with their fleshly manifestations and damaged souls. Don't forget that the apostles were trained by the best, the Lord Jesus himself. He taught them a lot, rebuked them when necessary. As a matter of fact looking at the template of Jesus and his disciples should make a lot of believers hope that no matter what they are, they can become what they are supposed to become.

Training to become the man that will fulfil destiny takes a place on three fronts, the salvation and revival of the spirit man, the repair of the damaged soul and the killing of the flesh and lusts in the body. All these can only take place under the supervision of the man of God that is seasoned and knows what he is doing. Also, it is supposed to be a church affair like I said. Stop looking outside. If you belong to a healthy local church, begin to pay attention to the drill structures put in place, the things that will place demands on good character, that will force the growth of the fruit of the spirit and kill the tendencies of the flesh in you.

Good morning.
Yesterday, we established that it is the five fold ministries of the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher that have the duty of helping the people of God to discover, get processed into, enter and fulfil their purposes as members of the body of Christ. This is the reason Ephesians 4 : 8-11 refers to them as gifts to the rest of the people in the body. You have not started to live until you have found your place in Christ and ultimately in what God is busy doing on earth, you are just simply existing. So many people think the ultimate of these ministers of the gospel is just to do miracles and help solve their problems. As a matter of fact if any of them think that is all he is to do, he is already failing in his cause. So, mutually, the minister and the people should know the truth together and work towards it.

The challenge I have with some ministers, especially power ministers is that they most often don't know what next for the people God had used them for. Deliverance is an integral part of the kingdom operations but it is basically a means to an end. it is supposed to set men free so they could serve him and his interests. Jesus did not set the mad man of Gadara free without giving him purpose. He told him to go to the region of the Decapolis declaring to them how the Lord had shown him mercy. The only reason he gave that would make the people that tied the donkey down to release it is that the LORD had a need for it. The women that got healing and deliverance from his ministry in Luke 8 :1-3 eventually got the ministry of sponsoring his work. He won't do differently in this age. Every pastor and minister should bear this so strongly in mind. I tell my church members that serving the interests of Christ is not by volunteerism or doing the little one can to appreciate the goodness of God.

It is doing the essence one is made for and which one will stand to give account for on the last day. When the first church started, all the apostles were doing was to preach, teach and pray, they left the rest of activities to anyone, anyhow and it soon backfired, they told certain people to be serving food but the elements of pride and hatred showing up in racism nearly destroyed the church. It was at that level that they realized that God's work was supposed to be articulately organized and that not just anyone can do anything in it. It was then that they realized that there must be criteria for service if they would not fail, it was then they realized that the conditions Jesus gave them to attain before they would start to preach applied to every other person that will work. Jesus expected them to be full of the spirit, wisdom and integrity. They told every other person that would work to go get the same before they could work.

The church helps you Into destiny by challenging you to attain to these statuses above first. Some people think that the church is desperate and would need them no matter who they were and how they would perform. Only an insecure pastor, one who does not know enough about these truths would do that.

Good morning.
I said yesterday that the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers are the ones God has authorized to get the people of God to discover their purposes in Christ. A success motivator is not licensed to do it. A success motivator is of God but he is supposed to serve the interest of humanity generally. his is why a pastor that is also a success motivator can have situations where even Muslims can learn principles of how to improve on business, family, career and even Islamic interests from his lectures. 𝐎𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬' 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞. It must just be about advancing the cause of Christ. I know at least two passages in the Epistles where Paul claimed to be operating from his grace in his bid to get believers to find out their place of function in the body, Romans 12 :1-4 and Ephesians 3 : 7.

When he opened his letter to the Ephesians he claimed he had been praying a prayer for them since he heard they were saved. He prayed specific prayer points for them which are
1) That they would have the spirit of wisdom and revelation that will make them know God.
2) That their eyes of UNDERSTANDING would be enlightened to know firstly, the hope they had been called to, secondly, to realize the deposit of God inside them that has made them to be of great prize to him and thirdly, to know the kind of power that was available for their use as believers in Christ. Notice from the analysis that it is possible to be called into the faith and not know the hope of God's calling. I believe so many believers are in this category of life. As these ministers that I mentioned earlier begin to preach and teach they would be supplying the necessary understanding and impartations that will be repairing the soul or mind.

The believer then would be finding out his place. A success motivator is not sent by Jesus to perfect the people for their place and roles in the body. If there is anyone called to be a success motivator in the Bible, he is called the "exhorter" according to Romans 12 :8 and he does not rank among the original apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. A very good example of that was Mary, the mother of Jesus who motivated the people to fetch water into the pots when they needed wine. She said "whatever he tells you to do, do ". Ephesians 4 :8-12 says God gave them as gifts to people so people could be made ready for the work of ministry. So, we can conclude that your chances at discovering and doing ministry lies in your understanding of the roles of these people and eventual cooperation with them and how they go about it. As I round off, I need to tell you that this is the reason God created the structure of a local church as a ground where you will have access to these persons and get what you need from them.

I rounded off yesterday saying that the exact opposite of the will of God for the believer is the carnal life. Peter says something about doing the will of God in 1 Peter 4:2 ; "𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒉 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒆𝒏, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒐𝒇 𝑮𝒐𝒅." The moment a man gets born again should mark the termination of his life in the flesh. The rest of his life is supposed to be dedicated to finding out the will of God and getting to do it. I have come to realize that most believers don't understand this concept of the will of God. There was a move many years ago that began to suggest to believers that the way to know their callings in life is to know what they were passionate about. It sounded good but in the long run became a distraction from the processes that should have made the believer discover purpose.

The passion side to life is general to humans whether or not they are born again. However, a born again Christian destiny is like a coin with two sides, the human side that is sponsored by passion and elements like natural talents and skill. The other side of the coin is where he fits in the body of Christ by God's design. The greatest challenge we have now is that the message of then, that said passion is the way to finding out the purpose of God, that did not tell us that such is limited to the human destiny is pushing everyone to think their place in the body of Christ is where their natural talents and skills fit into. No! The destiny of the believer in the body of Christ is not something he can simply discover, it is a product of mind renewal. Look at that suggestion again " . . . 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒚 𝑷𝑹𝑶𝑽𝑬 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅, 𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒐𝒇 𝑮𝒐𝒅."

To "prove" in the context means to scrutinize thoroughly. It suggests a search among several opinions until one gets it right. Why is the search necessary? It is because the mind or soul of the believer is not in a good shape spiritually as at the time of his coming into the faith. It is the lack of this understanding that gives room to a lot of people who don't have any business getting the people of God ready for purpose in Christ to have made contributions. Paul here was saying that he was a man authorized by God to process the believers into their purpose in Christ.

It is not everyone that can do that. God has chosen the ones that will do it. They are the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. They are the ones that will do the job by supplying the necessary understanding as they speak from grace.

Good morning.
I rounded off yesterday talking about how the devil tries to corrupt the earthly measures that are supposed to fund the design of God for a man's destiny. This way, the person is more prone to fulfil what the devil wants to do more than what he came to do on the earth. Do you know that if the world was full of moderate people in the days of Jesus, he would not have been killed? Scriptures say that he was killed through the hands of wicked men. The wickedness in them was all the devil needed to carry out his will, though he regretted it because God was ahead of him. So, the devil will try to corrupt the environments that are supposed to enable the foreknowledge and predestination of a man. When I see people and what they have become negatively on earth, I wonder what their foreknowledge and predestination actually were. For instance, anytime I see a drug addict. I wonder what pushed them into such.

There are even times that you will see some reflections of the makings of God inside them, some talents and abilities showing up even in the midst of the damages. However, when a man is saved, the damages has to be repaired. The damages are in the soul and body. Every addiction is a product of the flesh or lust in manifestation. These lusts are resident in the soul and the body. When the believer gets exposed to God's word, the spirits of the word begin to challenge the spirits funding the lusts. The spirits that come from the word enables the spirit man to fight. A language was used when describing the fight between the spirit man and the flesh of the believer, it is a language of serious confrontation. Romans 8: 13 says we should use the spirit to mortify or KILL the flesh. Galatians 5:13 also says we should not allow the flesh to successfully erect a base of fatal attack launch against the spirit man.

These two suggest that the fight between the spirit man and the flesh is a fight to finish and not just a simple quarrel. The flesh is out to kill the spirit man and you must be well aware of that. This is the reason the believer should not be careless in his spiritual dealings. Every success of the flesh means the spirit is killed to a degree. This way, it will look like the man is not saved, the devil and his assaults will overcome him easily and this is why many people think the devil has power over the believer. Ideally, the Christian practice is not about solving crises, it is rather about maintaining a healthy spiritual lifestyle that will keep the devil away and make us untouchable for him. Better still, it is even about making the devil afraid of the believer. It is a lack of the knowledge that being slack with the flesh while fighting it that makes us get into crises.

The believer has spent enough time living by the flesh when he was an unbeliever. He is not expected to continue in the flesh once he gets born again.

Good morning.
I mentioned yesterday that as the word of God comes to the believer, it will begin to influence his mind, emotions and will. His old views and perceptions will begin to get challenged and adjusted. As he does this, he will begin to see glimpses of purpose and destiny from the mind of God as against the things he has always thought life was about. For instance, a man that has been tempted to see the kingdom of this world and its glory will think living for pleasure is his purpose in life. Such a man will be committed to a lifestyle of nightclubbing, gambling, partying, romps of s*x and so on. But if the man gets born again.

The people of Israel had seen Jesus in person, heard him so many times but formed an opinion of him as a bad person because that was what the leaders made them believe. They joined the party that beat and crucified him. However, when Peter had to reintroduce him to them on the day of Pentecost, they had a shift in opinion. The same people that took Jesus to be a criminal asked Peter what they shall do to believe in him. That is a typical example of mind or soul renewal. At that juncture, their interests, choices and lifestyles would have changed. This is what is called transformation and it is such men that are well positioned to serve the interests of Christ and God. What we see around is a large volume of believers that are untransformed trying to do the service of God. It cannot work that way.

A man's destiny is what God determined him to come and do on earth and which has informed the manner of his construction or making in the womb. God did not make a mistake that he made someone a black man and someone else a white man. He did not make a mistake to have made someone tall and the other short. He did not make a mistake that he made you to come to the earth through a family and in the generation you came. A man called Jeremiah in the Bible, who God made and called to be a prophet to the nations was born into a priestly family. God did not make a mistake for making that to be. He needed an environment that will suggest godliness, fear of and dedication to God to forge him. He needed something, people, experiences, events, observations, education that will align him with his (God's) foreknowledge and predestination for him. However, the devil at times moves quickly to disrupt God's purpose by corrupting the earthly arrangements. This is where inconsistencies and pollution to destiny come from.

Good morning.
God gave life back to the spirit man of the believer through his Holy Spirit. However, the potential of this recreation is enough to deal with the rest of the challenges that took man away from God. The truth is God created the earth and put man in charge of it. To manage the earth, man must interact with its elements and with each other. The structures built from interactions and the eventual systems they built are called the world. However, man fell for Satan's tricks and he gained control over him compelling him to build his (Satan's) own structures and eventually, system. Therefore we can say the world we see around is largely built by the devil. Anything that thrives on the works of the flesh is built by the devil. I have seen believers doing a lot of funny things not realizing that they are stylishly in the employ of Satan.

Once a man is born again, the next thing is to work on him so the potentials to work for Satan are channeled into God's interests. For some people, they experience the supernatural transformation necessary at the new birth but a larger majority of believers will have to be processed into it. This is where the concept of mind renewal comes in. Remember that I said yesterday that mind renewal is primarily about finding out God's purpose for man. The word "mind" in the context is representative of all the components that make up the soul. The devil has damaged the mind such that it does not want to think about anything God. He had damaged the emotions such that it is not excited about anything of God. He has damaged the will such that it is rebellious to anything of God. When a believer is In this status, we say he is carnal, the essence is to do a repair.

In Romans 12, where we got our text from, the word "renewing" means to repair. This is brought about by exposing it to the knowledge of God. The greatest power on earth is that of influence. For God to get a man to do his bid, he will just influence him, for Satan to also do the same, he will just influence him. This is why Jesus illustrated the kingdom of God to be like a woman that was putting leaven (influence) in measures of bread and waited till they rose and why he also told his disciples to be careful about the leaven (influence) of the Pharisees. When the soul gets exposed to God's word, it (the word) begins to influence it against the original influence. This is the process that most believers have to go through. In the same way, the devil has put measures in place to counter influence the believer. We call such measures, corruption or pollution. That was what he used for Eve in the garden.

What influence does majorly is that it begins to alter a man's perspectives and appraisal of what he has always known. When you allow the devil to influence you, even the truth will turn into a lie like it happened to Eve and when you allow God's word to influence you, the lie will be exposed.
