Good morning.
The means to deal with fleshly tendencies are suggested in the epistles. In 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 3:10, 1 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 15:53, 2 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 5:4, 𝐄𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 4:24 to say the least, we are made to realize that the new man in Christ Jesus is like a garment that must be worn on top of the old man (another garment). There is no way we can deal with the old man or garment until we get to heaven when our bodies would have been transformed. However, we can wear the new man on top of it for as long as we remain on earth so much that people don't see it showing at all. All this by the power of the Holy Ghost residing in us. Invariably, when James and Peter told the believers to lay aside the works of the flesh, they were telling them to do it by the strength of the Holy Ghost.

Have you ever considered that Jesus told the people that they would receive power after the holy Ghost had come upon them. There are so many things we need the power of the holy Ghost for. Some of them are to check the internal crises going on in us, the very things I am dealing with now. When I first gave my life to Jesus, I was challenged to live a holy life but I struggled so much because I did not know that it would take more than my interest to do it. It would take the holy Ghost. All the assistance we will ever get in the faith will come from him (the Holy Ghost)

The reason the believer misbehaves and is not reflecting the manners and characters of Jesus, even though we are supposed to be managing his life for him is that the holy Ghost is not allowed to do his work. Have you ever heard the statement "𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒃𝒚 𝒎𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕, 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒃𝒚 𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒃𝒚 𝒎𝒚 𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒕 𝒔𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒐𝒓𝒅?" This suggests that there is nothing God will do without the power of the spirit. When you have not initiated a walk with the Holy Ghost, you will keep failing. It is possible to replicate the life that Jesus lived. He lived the life to serve as a model for us and we, by the spirit can live up to that standard.

Good morning.
I rounded off yesterday talking about soul repair. I mentioned two practices that will do it. They are, listening to God's words and avoiding the things that brought them about in the first instance. I used the example of an obese woman claiming to be shedding weight by doing all the exercises but feeding unhealthily.

On this note, it is important we highlight some of the things responsible for the damaged soul, that is, our journeys to it but before we do that, I will like to show some other residents of the damaged soul. In Mark 7 and Matthew 15, Jesus taught the disciples the things that defile a man and he gave the list as follows : 𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔, 𝒔𝒆𝒙𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒊𝒎𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒎𝒖𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓, 𝒂𝒅𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒚, 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒅, 𝒘𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔, 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒕, 𝒆𝒏𝒗𝒚, 𝒔𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓, 𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔. He says "𝑨𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒂 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏.”. These and more are the things resident in the damaged soul.

I came to find out that anytime the apostles were encouraging the people of God to pay attention to God's word, they will first tell them to get rid of the things of the flesh first. Why is this necessary? It is because there is no way divine things can cohabit the same space with satanic essence. It does not work. James 1:21says "𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒊𝒍𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒍𝒖𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒏𝒂𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒎𝒆𝒆𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅, 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒔.". 1 Peter 2:1-2 also says "𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒈𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒚𝒑𝒐𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒆𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒍 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔, 2 𝑨𝒔 𝒏𝒆𝒘𝒃𝒐𝒓𝒏 𝒃𝒂𝒃𝒆𝒔, 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒌 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅, 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒚 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒃𝒚:"

This is what a lot of Christians are trying to do. We tend to want the word of God and what it can do without first getting rid of the things that will choke the word. It is amazing to find out that Jesus says people can make the word of God to be of no effect by their practices. That is not to say that the word of God is not powerful or effective but men can make a mockery of it. It is the presence of all these tendencies of the old man that frustrates grace and makes the devil look powerful. Good morning.
Happy new month everyone. The month will usher in beauties and favors of all kinds. In this month, there will be a shift of the enemies from your pathways in Jesus name. You will have accomplishments with ease in Jesus name.

I rounded off yesterday talking about the enormous energy and possibilities resident inside the spirit of man before the fall. However, because of the fall, what we have now is a limited man, who cannot know the future, who cannot see the tricks of the devil, who cannot fight back against sin, who cannot resist sicknesses and diseases, who cannot forgive, who is subdued by lusts and the flesh and invariably could not fulfil his God given destiny.

We are saved by the Lord Jesus and so the narrative should change. However, the challenge now is that it was only the spirit man that is saved and it needs the cooperation and services of both the soul and the body to succeed. Those two have been programmed over the years to serve the interest of the devil and more often than not they are in rebellion mode. Actually, lusts reside in the soul and body of man. It is for the reason of this lack of cooperation that God says the soul should be renewed. The word "renew" means repair. You only repair something that is damaged. God made a perfect soul and body for Adam and everyone that comes into this world but by interacting with the world, the two become corrupted or better still damaged.

We have now discovered where the brick wall to living by faith comes from. I remember that when I just started living by faith, one of the lessons they taught us is that you may have faith in your spirit but fear in your head. We were also told that we should not mind it, we should just cling to our faith. That is very correct. However, it made me not want to choose the life of faith. It was much later that I realized that the fear that was choking me was from my damaged soul. As much as they taught me about mind renewal, I could not relate it to an effective faith life. If I did, I would have been more serious with it.

Invariably, I am saying that there cannot be an effective and consistent faith life when the soul remains damaged. It takes more than feeding on God's word to renew the soul. We must equally avoid the practices, experiences, environments, relationships and habits that brought the damage in the first instance. It is like an obese woman trying to lose weight by doing all the exercises but keeps eating unhealthily.

Good morning.
I was so shocked the day I saw that the new life in Christ does not really belong to the believer. It is a borrowed life, it belongs to Jesus, hence why we have to be accountable to him for it. It was more shocking and scary when I discovered that one can damage or destroy it just like the first life. How can that be? It can when one does not use it for the purpose of God, when one does not kill the lusts and fleshly tendencies that killed the first life. This is the reason why the life of faith was chosen for us. Why? Because faith is the only thing that makes living to be from the spirit man.

Don't forget that the spirit man contains eternal life, the same new life we have been given to replace the failed old life and an attempt to live by what we see is to submit the new life to the dictates of lusts and the flesh. Living by the joint activities of the spirit man and the holy Ghost inside it is what we call living by faith. This life dominates and suppresses the dictates of the flesh and lusts.

One of the reasons why the former life failed is that it was going to be worked out in a space controlled by Satan even with the limitations of the flesh and lusts. There was no way it could have worked. So now, we can understand what it means to live by faith. Faith, at least in this context means a force that will fight back the tendencies that are resident in the body and soul of the man that dont want him to win. This is why it is said that faith can do the impossible. Where did impossibilities come from in the first instance? They came from the inadequacies of the dead spirit man. Someone once said if man had not fallen, the world of possibilities of his creativity, discerning and so on would have been outrageous, a testimony to the force the spirit man possesses.

Good morning.
When I just started to hear messages of faith, I was so excited to see that I could win in life. I thought it was as simple as they taught me. I did not know that the total counsel of God can never be told at a time. I did not realize that there were other truths I needed to know. As I excitedly began, I came to a place where I started to query the fact that the just should live by faith. I thought God was unfair.

However, as I continued to grow and learn the ways of God, I came to acknowledge that my former life that was destroyed by sin and Satan, that Jesus had to come and die for could not fight back against the assaults of the enemies no matter the scheme I employed. Things like sin, curses, sicknesses, misdirection and others have destroyed lives and if man was ever adequate in the way he went about to fight them, there would not have been a need for Jesus to have come.

I also realized later that this new life in Christ is not my own life. It is the life of Christ and my duty is to manage it for him. The way he has chosen that the life should be lived is the way of faith. Jesus lived by faith when he wore the human body telling us that it was possible. Faith provided for him, faith cleared the road for him, faith defeated his enemies, faith made him submit to the control of God, faith preserved him and so on. This is the genuine reason why the just should live by faith. This is why we should appreciate it. Should we go about life the ways we are used to, we will be making a mess of the new life. It is possible for the new life to be defeated just like the old one was, when we don't live by faith. The proof of that is that the believer does not end up fulfilling his destiny from God. I can tell you that a whole lot of believers have found themselves there.

Good morning.
Today, we begin a new series that will expose to us what it really means to have a new life in Christ.
I always say that Christ did not come to repair our former lives, he came to replace it with a new one and when the believer does not understand it, he will end up being religious with the new life and not be able to make anything reasonable out of it. The concept of being born again was introduced by Jesus to Nicodemus that night and he began by telling him that except a man be born of the water and the spirit he would not enter the kingdom of God. He explained further that to be born again means to be born of the spirit, that is, a regeneration of the spirit man. It is that spirit man that has the new life and is what the Bible refers to as a new creature.

More importantly, what happened as a result of the new birth can only be understood by understanding the reason why God decided to come up with the new creature in the first instance. He had made man and he had a destiny for him, however, because man fell, his chances at becoming what God had ordained for him called predestination were lost. The predestination of any man was never to run mad. The predestination of any man was never to be sick, be unsuccessful, be oppressed in life, end badly in life. All those happened because what it would take to be able to live out the ideal life was compromised at the fall of man, the measure of the spirit that God shared with man, that essence that made him to be in the image and likeness of God, the breath of God was lost at the fall.

Since then, man could not and could not have been able to push for destiny successfully in the face of the devil. Man kept losing. It was on this basis that God set a remedy in place, a redemption plan that involves man defeating the serpent eventually (Genesis 3:14-15). The defeated version of man, the one that could not have succeeded against the devil is what 1 Corinthians 15:49 refers to as the image of the earthy. In fact, it was further described as corruption, dishonor, weakness and natural body. In the new birth, it is now described as incorruption, glory, power and spiritual body respectively. These are the potentials the new creation has on offer.

As I close today, the basic thing I want you to see is that by the born again experience, other than the fact that it is a birth through and into spirit operations and walks, it is a new opportunity and shot at life where one had originally failed. It is on this basis that there can and should be reversals to everything built into a man's life through the defeated life. The sick should get healed, the poor should get rich, the failure must turn to success, the defeated must become victorious and so on.

Two days ago, we started rounding off on this series and we were considering verse 5 of Psalm 23 that reads "𝑻𝒉𝒐𝒖 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒂 𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒆𝒔: 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒎𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒐𝒊𝒍; 𝒎𝒚 𝒄𝒖𝒑 𝒓𝒖𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒕𝒉 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓." We have seen how the pastor uses his rod and staff to scare off and intimidate the enemy's presence from hurting the sheep. Today we shall be looking at how he anoints the sheep with oil.

One of the things that the sheep always have problems with are flies that will want to perch on it especially in certain areas of its body that its legs, hoofs and tail cannot reach easily. This brings a lot of inconvenience and irritation to it. To help out, the shepherd will rub a type of oil that irritates the flies themselves on the body of the sheep. It operates like the modern day mosquito repellant. For as long as there is a supply of the oil, the sheep does not need to be afraid of the flies.

According to the new testament writings and Jesus words, flies mean demons or evil spirits. Evil spirits are fond of perching on men especially God's children in the forms of oppression. When a believer intentionally submits to the leadership of a genuine pastor, the activities of the pastor will be rubbing oils into him. The sheep will be receiving constant impartations, interventions, and graces that will constitute the oil. So many times, the preachings will drive away demons that are causing oppression in the forms of lies and worries in their minds, emotions and wills. This is the way to get the benefits of pastoring.

I have come to realize that it is only when the believer does not know the ways of God especially because he just got saved that he should or could have crises in his life. The anointing should solve the initial crises he may have brought into the faith while pastoral guidance will help him secure himself and get better as he seeks to make progress in life. There is no hope of an eventual successful life for the sheep that does not maintain a good relationship with his pastor. No matter your level of faith or challenges in life, there is a provision in the pastoral office to cater for you. As you submit to him, the graces on his life will be supernaturally showing up in you.

(𝑷𝒔𝒂 23:1).

"𝑭𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒏𝒐𝒕, 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒇𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒌; 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑭𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓'𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒅𝒐𝒎.". (𝑳𝒖𝒌 12:32).

"𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕, 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒍𝒆𝒅𝒈𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈." (𝑱𝒆𝒓 3:15).

Good morning.
As we round off on this series today, we shall be examining the rest of the benefits that the sheep stand to gain as he submits to the leadership of his divinely ordained pastor. We have been looking at Psalm 23 for some days and verse 5 says "𝑻𝒉𝒐𝒖 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒂 𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒆𝒔: 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒎𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒐𝒊𝒍; 𝒎𝒚 𝒄𝒖𝒑 𝒓𝒖𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒕𝒉 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓."

One of the things the shepherd can do well is to terrify the enemies of his sheep. As wicked as the world is, it will be safe to live for the sheep that submit to the leadership of his pastor. A meal of progress, ease, blessing, breakthrough and so on was prepared for the sheep right in the presence of his enemies and they could not do anything. I remember some years ago. I had a member who needed a job so desperately. All indications suggested he could not get it but he tried. On a certain morning, he approached me he was going to try securing it again and I prayed with him. As soon as he left I had the urge to keep praying until he would tell me about the outcome. It took long before he did but then it was a galore or favour testimonies that ensured he got it.

After settling in on the job, I had a revelation one day that he was at work and an accident happened and he was crushed to death by a big boulder. I raised prayers in church without disclosing whose identity it was that I saw. A couple of weeks later he came to share testimonies in church that a very bad accident happened at work but nobody was injured or died. When he described the nature of the accident, it was exactly what I saw.

These examples are types of how the enemies of a sheep cannot do him wrong while he is under the covering of his pastor. Make up your mind today that you will cooperate with the design of God. Don't be caught in the web of Independence from spiritual covering and authority that the social media may be strongly suggesting and your life will be secured, fruitful and productive.
