HAPPY OODUA / YORÙBÁ NEW YEAR!

ÒKÙDÚ Òṣù Kẹ́fà (June 3) marks the beginning of the New Year.

"(Kójọdá" - Kójọdá: Meaning; May The Day Be Clear or Forecast, was the name given to the Ancestral Oodua/Yoruba Calendar.

Akù Odùn Tìtún o! Eyìn Omo OODUA / KaaroOjire nìlè lókó, léyín ódì!

It is 10,064 in the Yoruba calendar (Kójọdá, which means "May the day be predicted"). The New Year begins on June 3 (Okudu Keta) of the Gregorian calendar.

This means, 10,064 year of Yoruba history recorded since the establishment of the calendar according to the Scholars by Orunmila. However, we used to have 4 days/week but later reconciled with the Gregorian calendar 7 days/week (Note).

Before the Western Gregorian calendar, the Yoruba used a lunar calendar. The Yoruba year starts on June 2nd of this year, which is today, until June 1st of the following year. The traditional calendar had a 4-day week, a 7-week month, and a 12-month year.

The Yoruba calendar (Kojoda) has a year starting on the last moon of May or first moon of June of the Gregorian calendar, and an era of 8042 BC. The new year coincides with the Ifá festival.

It all started about 10,064 years ago, when Ife-Oodaye was populated by the ÒRÌṢÀ'S. It was the work of Ọ̀RÚNMÌLÀ and ỌBÀTÀLÀ.

The traditional YORÙBÁ week has four days. The four days dedicated to ÒRÌṢÀ are as follows:

Day 1 is dedicated to ỌBÀTÀLÀ (ỌBÀLÙAYÉ ÌYÁÀMÍ and the EGÚNGÚN )

Day 2 is dedicated to Ọ̀RÚNMÌLÀ (ÈṢÙ, IFÁ, ODÚ and Ọ̀ṢÚN).

Day 3 is dedicated to ÒGÚN (Ọ̀ṢỌ̀Ọ̀SÍ, ÌJÀ and ERINLẸ̀).

Day 4 is dedicated to ṢÀNGÓ (Ọ̀YÀ, ÀGÀNJÚ)

To reconcile with the Gregorian calendar, Yoruba people also measure time at seven days a week and four weeks a month. The four-day calendar was dedicated to the ÒRÌṢÀ'S and the seven-day calendar is for doing business.

The seven days are:
ỌJỌ́-ÀÌKÚ (Sunday)
ỌJỌ́-ÀJÈ (Monday)
ỌJỌ́-IṢẸ́GUN (Tuesday)
ỌJỌ́-RÍRÚ (Wednesday)
ỌJỌ́-BÌBỌ̀ (Thursday)
ỌJỌ́-ẸTÍ (Friday)
and ỌJỌ́-ABÀMẸ̀TÀ (Saturday)

Òṣù in the Yoruba calendar.

Why is your IFA not working after IFA initiation (Itẹlodu)?

Ifa initiation known as itẹnifa or itẹlodu in Yoruba dialect is no stranger to your ears and if it is then you have to learn the fundamentals of IFA initiation before this particular post makes sense to you.

Almost all, if not all, practitioners have had Ifa initiation, even those who are not practitioners are initiated for a convinced reason known to them.

However, some IFA initiates raise their respective voices, lamenting why their initiation is futile, no improvement, no progress or any kind.

Despite the certainty of being rich (or having any desire at all) after initiation, everything seems to be stagnant, some even went from bad to worse. Some even abandoned Ifa because of these unfortunate reasons.

When experiencing this, numerous questions come to mind; among them are: why is this itẹlodu not effective? why is IFA initiation overrated? Why are my problems still not resolved despite what the IFA has assured me? Ifa still exists? to mention few among many.

These are questions that every common man who finds himself in this situation would ask himself and I would like to guide you through the answers so that they are stored in your long-term memory.

fraudulent reason
The proliferation of Babalawos, especially the so-called "Facebook Babalawos" is on the rise.

The criteria for differentiating between the original and the latest can be difficult because of the rebellious tactics that fakes adopt. Even to the greatest shock, some of the so-called "prolific" Babalawos have joined the disheartening trend.

They compromise IFA messages whenever they consult IFA for you, they enforce the need to start IFA not primarily because of their importance but because of their financial greed.

Since the IFA initiation cost relatively a "considerable" amount of money (at least $1000 as they charge), they see it as a quick way to acquire wealth, which is why they coat the IFA initiation for potential clients.

“You need to be initiated into the IFA so you don't die (some even say you're rich), and that must be done in the shortest amount of time.” That's what they say! But the IFA never said that.

So what psychological effect does this have on you? "I don't want to die" "I want to be rich" so you keep saying to yourself and then fight hard to save money for a mock initiation.

In the end, you don't find anything working for you because the "so-called" IFA initiation is nothing more than a scam.

Lack of knowledge
Most Initiates do not have adequate knowledge of IFA initiation. They do not know the benefits/deep essences of initiation. They fail to seek more knowledge about how the IFA initiation works and that is why they are disappointed at the end of the initiation. Some even believe that IFA initiation works like magic!

However, I would tell you that not every "self-acclaimed" Babalawo knows the benefits due to Itelodu. Most ensure that generic wishes are fulfilled so you can be convinced to get started.

This affects you in many ways as it leads to high expectations that you are not likely to get.

Lack of proper guidance after Itelodu

Even when a proper initiation has been performed, initiates lack proper guidance after itelodu and this is the fault of their Oluwo (Priest Priest).

In most cases, initiates don't get the guidance they deserve to shape their idea of itelodu in the right direction.

Some are not given guidance on how to communicate effectively with their IFA, not taught how to take care of their IFA, chants/prayers to get things going their way. Some do not even know how to apply initiation to all their endeavors.

Some believe that just because they are initiated they do not have to work physically to fulfill their desires in life.

They believe that since they are initiated, everything promised by their Oluwo after initiation must come in a magical way. Wrong! Your API will not be effective because of your stupidity.

You have to physically strive for something to open the spiritual lock (Itelodu). With this in place, your IFA initiation is likely to be effective

The lack of guidance in general contributes to the lack of effectiveness of Itenifa

Incompetence:
Some "Babalawos" are not competent, if you unfortunately fall into the hands of this type, then the effectiveness of your IFA initiation is not guaranteed, on the contrary, there is a high tendency for your
situation to deteriorate.

The process which proper initiation must entail is not adherent. This will not lead to any positive effects of itelodu.

A myriad of initiates have complained about how their situation has worsened despite being initiates. This reason (incompetence) is one of the main reasons why these people suffer such an unfortunate fate.
over-expectation

Some initiates expect too much! They believe the IFA initiation works like "Abracadabra". You close and open your eyes for the next few minutes and then boom! Your wishes came true. The IFA initiation doesn't work like that, on the contrary, it works in a natural way, a way that suits your destiny, so to speak.

Some initiates want to have a fleet of cars, luxurious houses, they want to live their fantasy world in the shortest time after passing through Itelodu. Ifa doesn't work that way!

If you have high expectations, don't be surprised if your API doesn't take effect.

Start time:
There is time for everything, as the popular saying goes. In the context of itelodu, there is no difference. If your timing is wrong, it is possible that your tool will not be effective.
This is why it is advisable to apply for the ifa green light before venturing to Itelodu

Destiny:
Just because you didn't get the desired result with itelodu doesn't mean it's not authentic or not effective. Your destiny may be the "obstacle" (reason) for why it has not yet manifested.

It just requires a lot of perseverance and patience for it to be effective and when you do, everything will fall into place in no time.

However, the reasons why your itelodu is not working are not limited to those given here, there may be other reasons

ORIGIN OF THE NAME OLODÙMARÉ

The name of Olódúmarè is a unique, sacred and exclusive title used for the supreme,
Deity that is not itself, self-explanatory. Most names, titles, or aliases are a combination of two or more words that are often used as prefixes, which makes them more definitive and/or specific.

The prefix in Yoruba names leads to a complete understanding of the origin and
of the name owner's cultural/family origin. It also makes it easier to appreciate the circumstances surrounding that person's birth or the experience of those who named that person or even the person's own experience.

The word Olódùmarè is the combination of two main words with the
prefix "ol".
The two words are Odu-mare (Odumare).

The prefix “ol” denotes the owner or the one who is busy with. For example: "Olomi" (Ol-omi) means: one who deals with water, (Omi is water). Olounje (Ol-Ounje) means: one who handles food (Onje is meal). Oloko (Ol-Oko) the one who takes care of the farm (Oko is farm).

In this case, the first letter of each word determines the first letter or vowel of the word, beginning of the prefix. For example: ede (shrimp) would become el-ede, which means, the one who takes care of the shrimp or owner of the shrimp. A*o (cloth) becomes al-aso, that is, the one who negotiates or is the owner of the materials to be worn, fabrics.

Alternatively, "Oni" is also used in certain cases to denote the same
meaning than “ol”, “el” and “al”. For example, onigba (Oni-igba) is the owner or one who
deals with “igba” (pumpkins); onikoko (oni-ikoko) is the owner or the one who deals with ikoko,
pots.

Odumare or Edumare is the divine and sacred name of the Supreme Being, I emphasize two main words which are odu-mare (Edu-mare) Odu or Edu, the first word means chapter or head, giant or very expansive, secret, authority or power. “Tide” is the second component, which means fixed, immovable, constant, eternal, without change, which cannot be reached or unattainable. From the previous explanations “Olódúmarè” can be explained as “Ol” the owner of Odù, secrets, powers, authority or certain superlative attributes.

While "Mare" is fixed, constant, immobile, eternal, unattainable. there is no other Deity who is said to possess these superlative attributes, such as Olódúmarè.

It is concluded from the very name of Odumare that he is nothing more than the sum of all the Odú at the same time, that is, he himself travels at very high speed around the surface of the Aiyé,
