Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;

The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene is a popular book about power, influence, strategy, and human behaviour. It draws examples from historical figures, rulers, military leaders, and court politics to explain how people have gained, maintained, or lost power. The book is controversial because some readers see it as a practical guide to understanding power struggles, while others criticise it for appearing to encourage manipulation.
The book contains 48 principles. Some of the most discussed ones include:
1. Never Outshine the Master
Greene argues that people in positions above you may feel threatened if you make them appear weak or less important. The lesson is to understand hierarchy and avoid unnecessary challenges to powerful people.

DO NOT PRAY ONLY FOR OPEN DOORS. PRAY FOR DISCERNMENT TO KNOW WHICH DOOR IS FROM GOD.

Every opportunity is not necessarily an instruction from God. Some things may look attractive, profitable or convenient but still lead you away from peace, purpose and obedience.

Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

This midday, learn to take important opportunities to God before you take them into your hands. Ask questions. Examine them through Scripture. Seek wisdom. A door being open does not mean you must walk through it.

Sometimes God’s protection comes through the opportunity you had enough discernment to decline.

I pray that the Lord will sharpen your spiritual understanding today. May He expose every attractive distraction, protect you from costly mistakes, and give you wisdom to recognise the opportunities that agree with His will for your life.

If this is your prayer, write: “Lord, give me discernment.”

Amen

TONIGHT, THANK GOD FOR THE BATTLES HE FOUGHT IN SILENCE

Not every deliverance comes with a visible sign. There are dangers God prevented that you never saw, wrong paths He blocked before you entered them, and moments when His mercy carried you without drawing attention to itself.

Psalm 121:7–8 reminds us, “The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in.” As this day comes to an end, gratitude should rise above complaint. You may still have prayers awaiting answers, but you also have reasons to recognise the faithfulness of God.

Tonight, I pray that the Lord will cover you and your household with His peace. May every burden from today lose its weight, and may God grant you restful sleep, renewed strength and fresh mercy for tomorrow.

Before you sleep, take a moment to thank God for what you saw and for what He protected you from without your knowledge.

If you are grateful for God’s unseen protection, write: “Thank You, Lord, for keeping me.”
