DAILY REFLECTION
MONDAY 6TH AUGUST, 2018
THEME: HANDLING DIVINE ASSIGNMENTS
TEXT: 2 TIMOTHY 2:14-22
MEMORY VERSE: 2 TIMOTHY 2:15 "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
The Lord is a God of power and authority, and He gives these to everyone He has given an assignment to carry out. Handling divine assignments requires many things for its impact to be properly felt.
Giving ourselves to due diligence, to study the work given to us, and also to develop and equip ourselves, is very key to the success of what the Lord has given to us so that we do not fail. When God gives us assignments, we are responsible for the type of result we get out of it. Getting the required result will mean that we must equip ourselves with the necessary tools that will ensure its success. When Abraham gave an assignment to his eldest servant, Eliezer, to get a wife for his son Isaac in Gen. 24, he gave him the direction and the terms of reference but it was for him to find his way of succeeding.
In verse 11 of Gen. 24, Eliezer made his camels to rest by the well at a time when women came to draw water – what a great strategy! He then prayed to the God of his master, Abraham, for speed and kindness to his master and he laid down some conditions for confirmation and he got it right!
Handling divine assignments needs insight and every seriousness with the job and incorporate God in every step you take. Let the Lord guide you in all you do and you shall succeed in the ministry. In our text, Paul gave 5 charges to Timothy on how to succeed in the onerous assignment he was being given as his successor in the ministry. List them out.

PRAYER: Gracious Father, grant me the required wisdom to handle everything You have committed into my hands. Help me to excel in them all for the glory of Your name. Amen.
