*ANNUAL VISIT TO THE RETIREMENT HOME*

As part of our Spirituality for the Care of Elderly & Sick Priests, we have reserved this Special Day, *SATURDAY 1st AUGUST* for MEMBERS to visit the Elderly Priests in the Retirement Home and share in their Life and Loneliness.

Buses will be available at different Locations for members to join for the one day visit.

We appeal for *Freewill DONATIONS* specifically for this Visit via the Apostolate's

This will enable us to plan a very fruitful & impactful visit (which includes purchase of Gift Items, pocket money for all the Priests, feeding/lunch for the elderly Priests & all members on that day, hiring of buses, etc)

Material/Physical gifts & food items can also be donated for the visit.

Remember, we cannot use our regular monthly/annual contributions to still organise a visit to them.

*BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION WITH THE ELDERLY PRIESTS*

It was a Joyful Moment for our Elderly Priests today 8th JUNE as one of the HECAP members decided to mark her *Birthday Celebration* with a Visit from Port Harcourt to the Retirement Home, Mgbidi.

At the Birthday Thanksgiving Mass, the celebrant was blessed by the 93years Old Fr. Francis Okonkwo along with some other Elderly Priests who were able to join the Birthday Mass this morning.

The Elderly Priests were super excited as the Visit & Gifts meant a lot to them.

NOTIFICATION OF DEATH

It is with a deep sense of loss but also in total submission to the will of God that we announce the transition of our confrere, Rev. Fr. Augustine ODILO, C.S.Sp., whose sad event occurred in the early hours of Thursday, May 14, 2026.

Fr. Augustine ODILO had been sick and retiring in our Priests Retirement Home at Mgbidi. He went for a surgery but it pleased God to rest him from his pains and ailment.

Please do remember him in your prayers and Holy Masses.

And please never relent in your care for elderly and sick missionaries.

We want to appreciate everyone that attend this event yesterday being 26th April, 2026 Mater Misericordiae parish Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
We thank our Elderly priests that was present at the mass and all the priests that made it to the event.
