YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON THIS.

Not everything you need in life can be found in a classroom, a career, a bank account, or a relationship.
There is something your life cannot afford to live without --THE WORD OF GOD.

Jesus said in Matthew 4:4 "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

Bread sustains your body.
The Word sustains your life.

This is why Bible Study matters.
We gather to open the Scriptures, understand God's truth, and allow His Word to shape the way we think, believe, and ultimately live.

Don't only feed your body this week. Feed your spirit.

GOODLIFE DEVOTIONAL
WEDNESDAY, 26/08/26.
TOPIC: THE BELIEVER'S ADVANTAGE -PART 57
TEXT: John 14:16 “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.”

In 1 Samuel 3:1-10, Samuel was sleeping when the Lord called him;
"Samuel, Samuel."
He answered, "Here am I." Then he ran to Eli.
Eli told him he didn't call him, so Samuel went back.
The Lord called again.
Samuel got up again and went to Eli again.
This happened three times.

There is something about this story that I find very interesting.
Samuel kept responding to Eli.
He didn't know it was God, but whenever he heard the call, he got up.
He was always willing to respond.

He just did not yet understand what was happening.
And maybe this is where many of us are.
We want to follow God. We want to obey Him.
But sometimes, we don't know how to respond when He is leading us.

You may feel that something is wrong, but we don't know what to do with it.
You may feel a strong urge to pray.
You may suddenly remember someone we need to call.
You may sense that we should wait instead of rushing into a decision.
You may know inside us that we need to let something go.
But because you don't recognize the Spirit's dealings with us, you ignore them.

How many times has the Holy Spirit spoken, and you didn't know what to do with what you're were sensing?
Samuel needed help. And this is where Eli's role became so important.
Eli eventually understood that the Lord was calling Samuel.

He told him, "Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth."

Eli did not become the voice of God to Samuel.
He simply helped Samuel understand how to respond.
Samuel went back. And when the Lord called again, he said, "Speak; for thy servant heareth."
Now something has changed. He was ready to listen.

That should become our posture, too.
Not, "Lord, tell me what I want to hear."

But, "Lord, speak. I'm listening."
There is a difference.
Sometimes, we ask God to speak, but we have already decided what we want to do.
We want His voice to confirm our plans.
But listening to the Holy Spirit means being willing to hear something different.

It means saying, "If you say stop, I'll stop."
If You say go, I'll go.
I'm not asking you to agree with me. I'm asking You to lead me.

And this is where yielding becomes real.
Because the Holy Spirit can not be your advantage if you only listen when His leading agrees with what you already want.

Sometimes, His leading will stretch you.
Sometimes, He will correct you.
Sometimes, He will ask you to take a step you don't feel ready to take.

But the posture remains the same, "Speak, Lord. I'm listening."

Maybe you feel you have missed God's voice in the past, Samuel's story can help you.
God kept calling.
Samuel didn't get it right the first time, the second or the third.

But God didn't stop speaking. He kept calling.
So if you've missed His leading before, don't give up.
You can grow. You can become more sensitive.
You can learn His ways.

The Holy Spirit is your advantage.
He is already leading you. But you need to learn to listen.
And when He speaks, respond with a willingness to obey.

I'm sure this helped!

PRAYER: DEAR FATHER, HELP ME TO BECOME MORE SENSITIVE TO THE HOLY SPIRIT. WHEN YOU SPEAK, HELP ME NOT TO IGNORE YOU.
GIVE ME A HEART THAT IS READY TO LISTEN AND READY TO OBEY. EVEN WHEN YOUR INSTRUCTION IS NOT WHAT I EXPECT, HELP ME TO TRUST YOU AND FOLLOW.

AMEN!

GOODLIFE DEVOTIONAL
TUESDAY, 25/08/26.
TOPIC: THE BELIEVER'S ADVANTAGE -PART 56
TEXT: John 14:16 “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.”

There are many voices around us.
Your emotions have a voice. Fear has a voice.
Your past has a voice. People have a voice.
Culture has a voice. The flesh has a voice.
And the Holy Spirit has a voice.

1 Corinthians 14:10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification."

The problem is not that God is the only one speaking.
The problem is learning to recognize His voice.

The Holy Spirit is your advantage, but an advantage you cannot recognize will remain unused.

The Holy Spirit speaks into your innermost being.
But His voice is not always loud. Sometimes, He whispers.
Romans 8:16 "... he whispers into our innermost being,...!”

This is where many believers struggle.
They are waiting for God to do something dramatic when He is already speaking quietly within them.

Think about Samuel in 1 Samuel chapter 3
The Bible says that Samuel was lying down when the Lord called him;"Samuel, Samuel."

Samuel answered, "Here am I."
But he ran to Eli, because He thought Eli had called him.
The Lord called again. Samuel got up and ran to Eli again.
Samuel was hearing the voice of God but did not yet recognize who was speaking.

God was not silent, but Samuel had not learned His voice yet.
Maybe this is where some of us are.
Maybe God has been speaking, but you have been mistaking His voice with other voices you're familiar with.

Maybe that persistent thought telling you to forgive is not weakness.
Maybe that desire to pray was not random.
Maybe that prompting to apologize was not your emotions speaking.
Maybe the Holy Spirit was the One whispering.

Jesus said, in John 10;27 "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."

The goal is not just to hear a voice. The goal is to know His voice well enough to follow it.
And this takes spiritual maturity.

A baby can recognize his mother's voice without seeing her face.
This is because he has heard her voice over and over again.
Familiarity produces recognition.

This is why you cannot become sensitive to the Holy Spirit while constantly filling your heart with every other voice.
If all day you listen to fear, fear becomes familiar.
If all day you listen to people's opinions, their opinions become familiar.

But the more you spend time in God's Word, pray, worship, and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, the more familiar His voice becomes.
You begin to recognize what sounds like Him.

The Holy Spirit is your advantage, but don't become so familiar with the voice of the flesh that the whisper of the Spirit becomes strange to you.

Learn His voice, know His Word, stay close to Him.

I'm sure this helped!

PRAYER: PRECIOUS HOLY SPIRIT, I DON'T WANT TO LIVE MY LIFE CONFUSED BY THE MANY VOICES AROUND ME. I WANT TO KNOW YOUR VOICE. TEACH ME TO RECOGNIZE YOUR WHISPERS. QUIET EVERY VOICE THAT COMPETES WITH YOUR VOICE IN MY HEART. .

AMEN!

SUMMARY
WISDOM FOR LIVING SERVICE
TOPIC: THE BELIEVER'S IDENTITY
TEXT: JOHN 3:2-3
PREACHER: PASTOR ARINZE RICHARD

You don't wait for things to get out of hand, be a word practitioner. What you say is a reflection of how you see yourself. Fight your battle with the consciousness of your identity.

Your mouth is the mouthpiece of your heart, it says only what is in your heart.
‎The worst battle a man can fight is identity crisis. It is easy to fight the devil than to fight identity crisis.

‎Identity has to do with revelation of the way you are built up
‎Identity crisis will expose you to inferiority complex.

‎1 Cor 1:23-30 TPT
23 but we preach the crucified Messiah. The Jews stumble over him and the rest of the world sees him as foolishness. 24 But for those who have been chosen to follow him, both Jews and Greeks, he is God’s mighty power, God’s true wisdom, and our Messiah.
25 For the “foolish” things of God have proven to be wiser than human wisdom. And the “feeble” things of God have proven to be far more powerful than any human ability.
26 Brothers and sisters, consider who you were when God called you to salvation. Not many of you were wise scholars by human standards, nor were many of you in positions of power. Not many of you were considered the elite when you answered God’s call.
27 But God chose those whom the world considers foolish to shame those who think they are wise, and God chose the puny and powerless to shame the high and mighty.
28 He chose the lowly, the laughable in the world’s eyes—nobodies—so that he would shame the somebodies. For he chose what is regarded as insignificant in order to supersede what is regarded as prominent,
29 so that there would be no place for prideful boasting in God’s presence.
30 For it is not from man that we draw our life but from God as we are being joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. And now he is our God-given wisdom, our virtue, our holiness, and our redemption.

‎In the revelation of Christ lies the revelation of who the believer is. The mirror of the believer is Christ.

‎Anything that doesn't build your faith is a bigger problem than the problem you have. The preaching of Christ is intentional; to show you the face of who you truly carry.
‎The belier is expected to grow in fullness of the stature of Christ and how it happen is by intentional learning.

‎Col 1:25-28
25 - Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
26 - Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27 - To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
28 - Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

‎The word mystery is from the Greek word "Musterion" which means classify secret.
‎This mystery is Christ in you the hope of glory.
‎
‎The Holy Ghost did not come to be with you, He came to be in you.
‎The Holy Ghost living in the believer is God living in the believer in His fullness, that is the mystery.
‎
‎You are not confessing the word if your heart is not at peace because what sponsors your peace is focus.
‎
‎It is the preaching of Christ that brings the perfecting of the believer, everything else will corrupt your belief.
‎The spirit of God is a changer agent.
‎
‎The role you have is constantly acknowledge every good thing in you in Christ.
‎
‎Your confession is a reflection of your conviction. What you speak reflect what you believe.
