They will be taking up their new appointments from 1st September 2025.

We encourage all members and friends to join us in this solemn moment as we appreciate them for their selfless service within their 3 years of legacy and impact in our community.

IT'S TIME TO SAY GOODBYE

Earlier this month, it was announced that our Corps Officers, Lieutenants Saviour and Joy Chidiebube Maurice have been given a farewell notice. This means that their ministry in the Corps will end on Sunday 31st August 2025 and they are to resume their new appointment (yet to be disclosed) on Monday 1st of September 2025.

As a church family, we have set aside Sunday 17th August 2025 for their Farewell Thanksgiving and Appreciation Service.

Lieutenants Saviour and Joy Chidiebube Maurice were appointed as Corps Officers of Awada Corps on 28th August 2022, and 3 years down the line they have served diligently both in the church, community and Anambra West Division; taking on various responsibilities including serving as the Anambra West Divisional Finance officer and the Establishment of The Salvation Army Model School Awada.
Now the time has come for them to move on to their next phase in ministry.

We invite everyone to join us on Sunday 17th August by 9:00am to bid farewell to our dearly beloved Corps Officers.

Earlier this month
The Salvation Army Model School, Awada
Observed her 1st Graduation Ceremony and One Year Anniversary Celebration of the School.

The well attended event which took place on Sunday 13th July 2025 had in attendance various dignitaries, neighbors, parents, pupils, teachers, comrades and the Corps Officers of Awada Corps, Lts Saviour and Joy Chidiebube Maurice.

During the event, among other activities to showcase what the school has been doing in the past one year, a total number of 14 pupils graduated from basic 6 and nursery 3. This marks the first graduates of the School.

As part of her cultural and social activities. There were cultural exhibitions which produced the school's first Igwe and Lolo (king and queen), princess as well as the president.

The outcome of the ceremony indicates that there are prospects for growth and expansion as parents were satisfied with their children's excellent academic performance and promised to encourage their friends to enroll their wards in the school during the next academic session 2025/2026.
The School in it's 1st year has recorded over 100 pupils.

We pray for God's continued grace upon the school and it's management.

Today we led our young people to make decision for Christ.

In the Salvation Army, we prioritize the spiritual life of our children. Therefore each quarter we give them the opportunity to make a decision for Christ through their participation in faith building activities.

Do not backslide to iniquity

Today Friday 14th March 2025 The Salvation Army Awada Corps joined in the Child Protection Campaign.
After a brief lecture, The Staff and Pupils of The Salvation Army Model School Awada, led by the Corps Officers/School Administrators Lts. Saviour & Joy Chidiebube Maurice, took to the streets to create awareness on the dangers of child abuse on the child and the society at large.
We stoped over at a mini-children clinic and some provision shops to to hand out the Child Protection Chart for more awareness.
