RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT MAKES YOU GLOW

Thursday, May 9th.

Pastor Chris

Keep your eyes on the LORD! You will shine like the sun and never blush with shame (Psalm 34:5 CEV).

Have you ever come out in the nighttime to look up at the stars? It’s such a beautiful sight to behold. But did you know that in the spirit, when you look down on the earth, the same way you see those stars up in the sky, that’s how you see stars of light in the earth? The difference is that these stars you see in the Spirit are us—God’s children.

The Bible says, “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world” (Philippians 2:15). Even though we’re all stars, we glow differently. Some of us glow strongly, while others may not shine as brightly.

In Luke 9:29, the Bible says about Jesus, “And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.” There’s something about prayer that affects your spirit and causes it to glow.

Others may not see the glory all over you; their eyes may not be opened to see it on your face, but as you pray in the spirit, you’re constantly transfigured from glory to glory. It’s one of the reasons we emphasize praying in tongues.

When you pray in tongues often, the glory of God is revealed in your life as you charge yourself up in the spirit and stir up the power of God inside you.

The Lord Jesus said, “Let your light so shine…” (Matthew 5:16). This means you're responsible for making your light glow more and more. The more you pray in the spirit, the stronger your light. That’s what enables you to do the work of God effectively, and keeps you healthy and strong. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit and for giving me the ability to pray in tongues. As I pray in tongues today, I light up everywhere, glowing ever so brightly, radiating your goodness, kindness and graciousness to my world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY: Romans 12:11 AMPC Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.

Luke 9:28-29 AMPC Now about eight days after these teachings, Jesus took with Him Peter and John and James and went up on the mountain to pray. And as He was praying, the appearance of His countenance became altered (different), and His raiment became dazzling white [flashing with the brilliance of lightning].

Matthew 17:1-3 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.

*CALL FORTH YOUR SUPPLY*

Wednesday, March 8th

Pastor Chris

_*According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:3).*_

In Matthew 6, Jesus taught His disciples how to pray; and even though He didn’t intend for that prayer to be repeated ritualistically, He said something very profound in verse 11. He said, _*“Give us this day our daily bread”*_ (Matthew 6:11).

Remember, this was before He brought us into the Kingdom. That means God had a plan for everybody. The word, “bread” there is symbolic; it isn’t just the staple food you prepare from a dough of flour and water. Rather, it means today’s supply; everything you require for today, to live joyfully and fulfil God’s purpose. Hallelujah!

When I read this many years ago, it dawned on me that I had a lot of leftover daily bread that had accumulated over time that I hadn't taken possession of. Then I said, “In the Name of Jesus, I receive them all!” After all, the daily bread doesn’t get expired with God.

In Joel 2:25, He said, _*“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm….”*_ If He can restore all of that, then there’s no expiration with Him.

So, if you’ve never taken possession of that which belongs to you since you became a Christian, that means you’ve been living a life below your status, in spite of the accumulation of wealth in your heavenly account.

But the good news is, you can call forth your supply even now, through your faith-filled affirmations. Our theme verse says He’s made everything available to you for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). Call them forth in Jesus’ Name.

*JOYFUL IN TRIBULATION*

Thursday, March 2nd .
Pastor Chris

_*Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation (2 Corinthians 7:4).*_

Is it possible to be joyful in tribulation? Emphatically yes! That’s our life in Christianity; it makes no difference what we face, we’re unruffled and full of joy because we know the end from the beginning! We always win.

2 Corinthians 4:17 says, _*“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”*_ This is God’s Word; it can’t be overturned. No wonder James said, “Count it all joy when you go through diverse tests” (James 1:2).

It doesn’t matter how severe the pressures get, we never say, “I can’t take it anymore.” Rather, we stand strong and unmoveable. We never get flustered, because it’s our nature to triumph. We endure hardness with cheerfulness; we’re _*“Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness"*_ (Colossians 1:11). Glory to God!

Always remember that the adversities of life are the opportunities for your greatness to be tested and manifested. Therefore, in the face of opposition, always declare, “Greater is He that’s in me, than he that’s in the world!”

Victory is in your spirit. This was the understanding of the Apostle Paul when he said, “I rejoice in my infirmities;I welcome trouble” (2 Corinthians 12:9). Have the same consciousness. Welcome challenges! Christ lives in you! With His Word in your heart and in your mouth, you’ll withstand any test and always prevail. Hallelujah!

*CONFESSION*

*I live the transcendent life, a life of absolute victory, success and excellence! I have an ever-winning, joyous life, with power over crises and dominion over circumstances. The adversities of life are for my promotion, for I’ve been built to overcome. Hallelujah!*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *Psalm 40:2‭-‬3 AMPC*He drew me up out of a horrible pit [a pit of tumult and of destruction], out of the miry clay (froth and slime), and set my feet upon a rock, steadying my steps and establishing my goings. 3 And He has put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many shall see and fear (revere and worship) and put their trust and confident reliance in the Lord. *||*

*||* *James 1:2‭-‬4 TPT*My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! 3 For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up in you the power of endurance. 4 And then as your endurance grows even stronger, it will release perfection into every part of your being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking. *||*

*HIS NATURE IN US*

Thursday, February 23rd .
Pastor Chris

_*Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy (Ephesians 4:24 NLT).*_

In Ephesians 5:1, we’re admonished to be “imitators of God” as His beloved children. His life and nature in us makes this possible. We can walk in absolute mastery and dominion in the earth as Jesus did, for as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).

Being born again, you’re born after the Second Adam, Jesus Christ; you were created after Him in righteousness and true holiness. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, _*“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature….”*_ This new creature has the God-nature. This is the reason you can please God and live the Christ-life.

No matter how much you train a dog to act like a human, it can never be human, because it doesn’t have the human life. To be human, you have to be born that way. We’re Godlike, and can emulate our heavenly Father, because we were born with His life and nature in us. It’s the reason we can do the same things Jesus did.

He said in John 14:12, _*“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do….”*_ You can heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers and cast out devils as Jesus did. He gave you the authority in His Name.

Moreover, we can emulate Him in our love-walk. Ephesians 5:2 says, _*“And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.”*_ His nature in you makes it possible to express love to those in your world, whether or not they deserve it. Hallelujah!

*CONFESSION*

*My divine nature causes me to live, love and talk like my heavenly Father; the beauty and compassion of Jesus is seen in and expressed through me, for as He is, so am I in this world.*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *2 Corinthians 5:17* Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. *||*

*||* *Ephesians 5:1 NIV* Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children *||*

*||* *1 John 4:17* Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. *||*

*REAL WORSHIP—BEYOND FORM OR RITUAL*

Tuesday, February 21st .
Pastor Chris

_*Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all (1 Chronicles 29:11).*_

Some people don’t understand what worship is and so they miss out on its blessings and benefits. Worship is the recognition and appreciation of the goodness, blessings, kindness and righteousness of God. It is the appreciation and recognition of His character, and therefore, the confession of His character. Hence, true praise is worship.

When, for instance, you give thanks to God and say “Lord, you’re good; you’re kind; you’ve blessed me; you’re righteous,” you’re defining, recognizing, appreciating and promoting the character of God. The Lord appreciates that because it shows who He is in your life; it separates or distinguishes Him from everyone and everything else.

When you thank Him for His goodness, provision, blessings, and all the wonderful things He’s done in your life, you’re saying “Oh Lord, I know it’s you who did all these things.” You’re attributing those beautiful works to Him, and the necessary result is that He’ll do more for you and reveal Himself to you in a greater way.

Worship always brings a greater revelation of God. This is why we worship only God, and not men, angels, or any other creation. How important worship is! It should be for you something beyond a form or ritual. It should be a time of true recognition, perception and a real encounter with who God is.

*PRAYER*

*Dear Father, I lift my hands in worship and offer to you sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving from my spirit. I adore you Lord, for you alone are God, the everlasting King of glory, the only wise and true God, gracious and kind, holy and righteous, ever loving and forgiving. Thank you for the blessing of the New Testament in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!*

*RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL*

*BUILD ACCORDING TO HIS DESCRIPTION*

Wednesday, February 15th.

Pastor Chris

_*…Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain (Hebrews 8:5 NIV).*_

When God told Moses to build a tabernacle, He gave him a clear description and instructed him to build according to the description: _*“According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it”*_ (Exodus 25:9).

In your walk with the Lord and work in His Kingdom, don’t just run off with every idea just because you think it’s nice. Be sure that you’re following God’s blueprint; the pattern and description that He’s given. It’s one of the reasons you must know the Word for yourself.

In His Word, you find samples, patterns and descriptionsof how He wants us to live, the things He wants us to do and how to do them. The psalmist said in Psalm 127:1, _*“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it…”*_; we must build according to His plan.

In these last days, the Lord Jesus is building His Church. He said, _*“…I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”*_ (Matthew 16:18). There’s a description given to us in the Word of God that shows how He’s doing this. The Bible says He (Christ Himself), _*“…gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up”*_ (Ephesians 4:11-12 NIV).

His plan is to build through these leaders, but everyone is involved; each one of us contributes to the building of this great body of Christ: _*“From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love”*_ (Ephesians 4:16).

Every time you lead someone to Christ, you’re adding to the building of the Body of Christ, and it's a magnificent building. Hallelujah! Keep playing your role by winning souls into the Kingdom. You’ll be contributing to the building of the magnificent structure according to the descriptiongiven.

*PRAYER*

*Dear Father, I thank you for the ability of your Word in my spirit. I’m a doer of the Word, not just a hearer. The results of living in and by the Word are evidently manifested in every area of my life today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *Hebrews 8:5 AMPC*[But these offer] service [merely] as a pattern and as a foreshadowing of [what has its true existence and reality in] the heavenly sanctuary. For when Moses was about to erect the tabernacle, he was warned by God, saying, See to it that you make it all [exactly] according to the copy (the model) which was shown to you on the mountain. *||*

*||* *1 Samuel 15:22* And Samuel said, Hath the LORD [as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey [is] better than sacrifice, [and] to hearken than the fat of rams. *||*
