“27-Year-Old Kaosisochukwu Ibemesi Emerges APGA Flag Bearer for Oyi Constituency After Dramatic Re-Announcement”
27-year-old Kaosisochukwu Ibemesi, popularly known as “Igiligi Aku Awkuzu”, has reportedly emerged as the winner and flag bearer of APGA for Oyi State Constituency ahead of the Anambra State House of Assembly election.
Kaosisochukwu, a native of Awkuzu in Oyi Local Government Area, defeated the incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Innocent Ojike popularly known as Ojicam, during the APGA primary process.
The young politician and social media influencer became widely known through his popular slogan:
“Ka Awkuzu Jekene.”
Throughout his campaign, he maintained that Awkuzu community has never produced a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly in the history of Oyi Constituency representation.
This announcement is however being received with mixed feelings as APGA faithful were reportedly kicking against the new result because Hon. Innocent Ojike (Ojicam) was earlier announced as the winner of the party primary election held on Saturday, 23rd May 2026.
But in a fresh development today, the result was re-announced and Kaosisochukwu Ibemesi was declared the winner and officially returned as the party flag bearer for Oyi Constituency.
His emergence has continued to generate reactions across Oyi LGA, especially among youths and supporters who see it as a new political movement in the constituency.
