Monthly Evangelistic/Pastoral Letter 1 -
Walking in God’s Favour
Beloved in Christ,
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I welcome you joyfully into the month of September. Truly, “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24). The gift of a new month is a testimony of God’s mercy. It is not by our power, wisdom, or righteousness that we have crossed into September, but by His steadfast love that never ceases and His mercies that are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22–23).
As we begin this new month, I want to encourage you to set your heart on walking in the favour of God. Divine favour is the supernatural grace that distinguishes a man among many. It is that which opens doors no one can shut and causes people to extend kindness beyond natural explanation. Scripture reminds us: “For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield” (Psalm 5:12). Pay attention to the following this September.
1. Remember God’s Faithfulness.
September is the ninth month of the year. That means the Lord has faithfully carried us through eight months already. If you pause to reflect, you will realize that the Lord has preserved, protected, and provided for you in countless ways. The Psalmist declared: “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalm 103:2).
Beloved, gratitude is the key to accessing greater favour. When we thank God for what He has done, we position ourselves for more. As you step into this new month, take intentional time to count your blessings. Thank Him for life, for strength, for family, for victories seen and unseen. Gratitude attracts God’s presence, and in His presence there is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11).
2. Walk in Obedience
Favour is not random; it flows in the direction of obedience. Noah “found grace in the eyes of the LORD” (Genesis 6:8), not only because God chose him, but also because he walked in righteousness amidst a corrupt generation. Abraham obeyed the Lord’s call and became a channel of blessing to all nations (Genesis 12:1–3). Mary, the mother of Jesus, received divine favour because she yielded to God’s word: “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word” (Luke 1:38).
If you desire God’s favour this month, make up your mind to walk in obedience to His word. Obedience may not always be convenient, but it is always rewarding. The Lord Himself says: “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land” (Isaiah 1:19).
As you obey Him in your daily life—whether in holiness, prayer, generosity, or service—expect the heavens to release favour upon you.
3. Trust God’s Providence
This September, let your confidence be rooted in the Lord’s providence. The systems of this world may fail, but the Lord is faithful. David testified: “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread” (Psalm 37:25).
You may face uncertainties about your job, family, or future, but remember that God is your Shepherd. “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1). As you journey through this month, carry this assurance: the Lord who brought Israel through the wilderness, who fed Elijah in famine, and who multiplied the five loaves and two fishes, is still the same today.
Therefore, trust Him to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
4. Live with Expectation of Favour
Beloved, begin this month with expectation. Favour is often released in the atmosphere of faith. Jabez prayed: “Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me!” (1 Chronicles 4:10). And the Lord granted his request.
This September, I encourage you to pray boldly and believe God for favour in your family, in your work, in your ministry, and in your health. When you pray, declare His promises: “For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11).
Let your heart be filled with faith, because the God who opened doors for Esther in a foreign land and caused Joseph to be lifted from prison to the palace is still at work today.
5. Shine as a Light
Finally, remember that God’s favour upon your life is not for selfish gain but for His glory. Jesus said: “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid” (Matthew 5:14). As the Lord favours you this month, be intentional about being a blessing to others.
Share His love in words and in deeds. Encourage the weary, comfort the brokenhearted, and support those in need. Let people see Christ in your actions. When the favour of God flows through you, it draws others to the knowledge of Christ.
Evangelistic Blessing for September
I declare over you this month of September:
The Lord will go before you and make every crooked path straight (Isaiah 45:2).
His favour will surround you like a shield (Psalm 5:12).
No weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
You shall not lack any good thing (Psalm 34:10).
The peace of God shall keep your heart and mind through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Beloved, As we eagerly await the coming of our Lord let your heart be filled with joy and hope as you step into this month. Expect divine opportunities, supernatural provision, and fresh testimonies. September shall be for you a month of favour, enlargement, and victory in Jesus’ name.
Remain blessed, and keep pressing on in the faith.
With love in Christ and firm in God’s grip,
Evang Omotola O. Theophilus
