YOU ARE MORE THAN THIS!
I have come to the sad discovery that people often base their self worth on what they believe the most important people in their lives think of them.
For children, most likely that would be their parents, guardians or school teachers.
For adults, that could still be a parent, a spouse, a friend, a spiritual leader or a mentor.
The truth is that we often feel the way we feel those people feel about us.
There is a huge problem with this philosophy. The problem is that people can disappoint us. They can say things or do things that bring hurt, heartache and pain. And if we are receiving value only from those who hurt us, then we will probably feel less and less valuable over time.
Eventually these people will do something that will show to you that you are not really that important to them.
Permit me to tell you that the key to really understanding and maintaining a true sense of value is to let God your Heavenly Father be the most important person in your life.
Let your sense of value be based on what He says about you in His Word.
When you make mistakes, some may criticize you and make you feel very guilty like you are finished. But God says, " My mercy is available for every mistake. Get up and start again, my Child. Your future is brighter than your past"
Others may make you feel like you are not talented, you are not intelligent, you are not attractive or that there is nothing special about you. But God says, "You are my masterpiece. You are an eternal excellence, the joy of many generations"
People you least expect may disappoint you and reject you, even say things that can wound your spirit or weaken your morale. If you have trained yourself to be receiving your sense of value from them, you will go through life feeling worthless, inferior, insecure and like a nobody.
But, if you have learned to receive your value from God your Heavenly Father and to listen to what He says about you, then you will feel loved, accepted, a
