THE DAILY FOUNTAIN
DAILY DEVOTIONAL OF THE
CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

TOPIC: WORSHIP FOR CLEANSING
READ: LUKE 5:12-16

While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy.[a] When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.
14 Then Jesus ordered him, “Don’t tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”
15 Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses.
16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

THE MESSAGE:

Worship refers to the act of totaI reverence of fear for God. It involves praises, prayers, service, offering and bowing to the King of kings and Lord of lords. When we worship in truth, we enthrone God and He in turn uplifts us for good. Worship opens the gates of grace to man and helps us to offer ourselves to the glory of God. The l***r in our text, approached Jesus and fell on his face (i. e. worship) and in prayers, requested for cleansing (verse 12). And the Lord had mercy on him, reached out and healed him (verse 13).

In the spirit of this portion of Scriptures, we declare that today is our day of cleansing from all forms of spiritual, physical, financial, social, material and academic leprosy. And the authentic channel through which to activate this declaration is 'true worship' (John 4:24; Matthew. 2:11). “O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker' (Psalm 95:6). Do this in your closet, place of worship or in any convenient place. Then expect the miracle of this ministration in Jesus' Name. Amen.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I believe, I bow, and I ask for total cleansing this day and always. Amen

"The word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword" (Hebrews 4:12). It pierces through every vain imagination and proud pretension that exalts itself against the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:5). Through His Word, we are humbled and gently drawn into a place of deep intimacy with the Father in prayer.

The hour is near, a time when young hearts will be gathered to learn the ministry of prayer, crying out from a place of sonship, "Abba, Father" (Romans 8:15).

It was an honour to have the Diocesan executive pay a visit to the Anglican Student Fellowship, Adeyemi Branch, today, 22nd of February, during their Sunday service.

The Vice President/Prayer Coordinator Bro. Goodness Adebowale was given the opportunity to address the students. In his address, he stated:

· How he is a product of the Student Fellowship (ASF), and how the Fellowship shaped and prepared him for leadership roles even after school.

· He encouraged them that now, while on campus, is the time to know God, because after leaving campus, it might be difficult to maintain the same level of intimacy with God.

· He reassured them that the Student Fellowship is part of the broader Youth Fellowship in the Diocese, and they are not being left in the dark.

· He also encouraged them to stay active in the group (Ondo Diocese Youth Group), and regarding the Olive Conference, he urged them to participate actively in the next edition.

Members of the executive present were: Br Damilola Lawal (President), Br Goodness Adebowale (Vice President/Prayer Coordinator), Sis Florence Abiola (General Secretary), and Br David Abioye (PRO).

May the work of God continue.

PRAYER SESSION II LED BY THE VICE PRESIDENT/PRAYER COORDINATOR, BRO. GOODNESS ADEBOWALE AT THE LEADERSHIP RETREAT HELD ON THE 7TH OF FEBRUARY AT THE CATHEDRAL YOUTH CHAPEL

1. The eyes is the window of the body, Lord cause that the eyes of my understanding be flooded with light (Ephesians 1:18, Matthew 6:22-23)
2. The grace to walk in the Spirit so as to not fulfill the lust of the flesh: Galatians 5:16-22
3. Acts 2: 17-18, On the last day, the Lord will pour His Spirit upon all flesh, Lord help me to work in many manifestation of the Spirit, help me to be real and not fake the manifestation of the Holy Spirit
4. Help me to know you more, “the more I know, the more I want to know You, Jesus more of you“

PRAYER SESSION I LED BY REV. AFUYE AT THE LEADERSHIP RETREAT HELD ON THE 7TH OF FEBRUARY AT THE CATHEDRAL YOUTH CHAPEL

1. Lord, I surrender to you my spirit, soul and body.
2. Lord empower me for your service this year and beyond.
3. Here I am O Lord, send me.
4. If you can use anything, you can use me, Lord.
5. Lord let Your Spirit of understanding, wisdom and humility rest upon me.
6. God’s investment shall not be in vain upon my life
7. Give me O Lord, the spirit of faithfulness to manifest my talent.
8. I will not be a waster and disaster to the Kingdom of God.
9. Let your Spirit transform my life to become a worthy servant.
10. Grace to endure servanthood.
Declaration:
“I am not empty, I am not alone, God has put His spirit upon me.
I walk in power. I walk in grace. I walk in purity. I walk in purpose, in the name of Jesus Christ.”

Ye are light is different from "You are becoming the light"

The nature of light is to shine

Light does not struggle to shine

As a leader and light, you must be positively impactful

Your assignment is to shine your light

Light is an identity

Gone are the days you give excuses for not shining. There is no excuse for not shining as a light

The expectation of God upon you is to shine as light

You are saved to make impact
How impactful are you?

Light requires purity. Light does not shine by noise, but by character

Leadership is not about position, but about illumination

Light is leadership

Darkness does not dispel by argument but by the shining of a light
