DRESSING IS IMPORTANT

Exodus 28:2
And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.

It is quite obvious that both in the Old and New Testament, dressing mattered to God.

We see here in our verse that clothes or dresses are to be for glory and for beauty.
Clothes are for adornment. They are for the glory of God, and for our beauty.

I used to think that dressing never really mattered. The truth is that as it regards the salvation of a man’s soul, dressing makes no difference! The only thing or the only Person that matters when it comes to the salvation of a man’s soul is the Lord Jesus Christ.

But after we come to know the Lord, we must be different from the world in our dressing. We must dress to please Him and to honor Him. Things we wore as unbelievers for the wrong reasons, we should no longer wear. We are no longer to dress like the world.

The world dresses to attract attention to the body, we are to dress to give glory to our God.
The world dresses for sexual appeal, we are to dress for glory and for honor.
The world dresses to honor self, we are to dress to honor God. The world dresses immodestly, we are to dress modestly.
1Timothy 2:9 says: “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array.”

The world dresses to reveal, we dress to cover!
The world dresses to show, we dress to conceal!

Notice what 1Timothy 2:9 (ISV) says, “Women, for their part, should display their beauty by dressing modestly and decently in appropriate clothes...”

After one is born again, his or her wardrobe should also be born again!
Clothes are for glory and for beauty. What you wear and how you wear it matters to God. Does your dressing glorify the Lord?
Honor Him even in your dressing.

To the very ends of the earth,
God bless you richly with great grace and many blessings.

Nehemiah 13:27
_“Shall we then hearken unto you to do all this great evil, to transgress against our God in marrying strange wives?”_

✨ *Reflection:*
*TEXT: 1 KINGS 11:1-7 (KJV)*

*Author’s Comment*

A man of God advised pastors to ask their wives whether they would enter the Kingdom of God. If the answer is no, it indicates a significant risk that they might not enter the Kingdom themselves. Marriage, as ordained by God, is a covenant between one man and one woman designed for companionship, unity, and mutual support. There are godly and ungodly marriages: godly marriages are centred around God and aim to nurture spiritual growth. In contrast, ungodly marriages deviate from God’s will and do not bring Him glory. Some marriages look good outside because of the smile of either the husband or wife but inside i.e., at home, it is like a frypan on fire.

Marriage is a critical issue often taken lightly by today’s youth. The larger problem of society today is caused by ungodly marriage. Some children practice what they see their parents do. The devil has a vested interest in marriage, knowing that a failed marriage may lead to missing out on the Kingdom of God. Nowadays, the focus is often on personal satisfaction rather than aligning with God’s will. Ungodly marriages do occur as a result of disobedience.

For instance, King Solomon's marriages to foreign wives, which God had expressly forbidden, eventually led him away from God. Despite initially seeming to remain faithful, Solomon's wife turned his heart toward other gods, threatening the kingdom. Only God's intervention and promises to David spared Solomon’s reign, even after his death, the kingdom was divided. Marrying an unbeliever is marrying a strange husband or wife. Immoralities in any form before marriage are ungodliness.

The Bible warns against being "yoked together with unbelievers," as Christians are expected to reflect the character of Christ, this implies that an unbeliever may attend church but lacks true faith. Ungodly marriages typically result in ungodly offspring unless God intervenes. Such unions foster unbelief, and sinful behavior, set poor examples, and may ultimately lead to hellfire.

If you are in an ungodly marriage, seek God’s forgiveness and pray earnestly for His mercy. If the foundation is destroyed, the only thing left for the righteous is to pray. God is merciful and can bring healing to your marriage. If you are not yet married, pray for guidance to follow God's will in choosing a spouse. Wait patiently on God. Pray so that you will not pray.

*Prayer Points:*

1.O Lord, have mercy on my marriage and heal my marriage.

2.Father, help me to rely fully on you.

3.I reject making any wrong choices in Jesus' name

Fornication Starts With “Touch-Touch”
Stop Playing With Fire

Nobody wakes up and suddenly falls into sexual sin.
It starts slowly, quietly, and softly.

A hand on your shoulder…
then your lower back…
then the “I’m just helping you adjust your hair” touch😏

All those touches that send fire down your marrow.
and suddenly your spirit is screaming while your flesh is smiling.

This generation says, “Relax, it’s just touching.”
Heaven says, “Stop it you know where that road ends.”

Understand this:
Lust doesn't always show up with heavy breathing and dim lights.
Sometimes it starts with laughter…
hands brushing “by mistake”…
and a voice that says, “Don’t worry, I can handle it.”

Nobody “handles it.”
That’s why Scripture handled it for you ahead of time:

“It is good for a man not to touch a woman.” 1 Corinthians 7:1

Why? Because touch wakes appetites.
And appetite doesn’t obey common sense, only boundaries.

Stop calling it “chemistry.”
It’s temptation dressed in perfume.

Stop saying, “He’s a good guy.”
Good guys fall. Good girls fall.
Holiness is not gender-based it’s principle-based.

Listen, if your heart rate increased and you suddenly forgot memory verse
that touch was not “innocent.”

If the moment you got home you started rebuking imaginary spirits
it wasn’t prayer you needed, it was distance.

If you have to fast every weekend because of someone touching you during the week…
my dear, it’s not fasting, it's unnecessary warfare.

Your destiny is too expensive to be lost in someone’s palms.

Boundaries are not proof of weakness they are proof of value.

People protect what they treasure.

Your body is a temple not a public testing ground for “we’re just close.”
Tell that young man to stop touching you.

A holy relationship is not led by hormones but
it is led by discipline and the Holy Spirit.

If they truly love you, they will protect your purity,
not stretch your self-control like rubber.

God didn’t tell you to “manage temptation”
He said flee.
Even Joseph ran.
Who are you to stand and negotiate?

You don’t fight lust by being strong you fight by being wise.

Your purity is your crown, don’t let anyone bend it crooked.

Touching is not “cute.”
It’s not “bonding.”
It’s not “chemistry.”

It’s the door to destruction.

Close it. Lock it. Guard it.

Your future spouse will thank you.
Your spirit will stay sharp.
Your destiny will stay fragrant.

And heaven will applaud your discipline.

Christians are called to fix our hearts on eternal things and not be overly attached to material possessions or worldly achievements. The world places great importance on wealth, status, and recognition, but these things are fleeting and can distract us from our true purpose in Christ. Jesus reminds us to store treasures in heaven, where they cannot be destroyed. We are called to live with a heavenly perspective, knowing that our worth and security come from God, not from the temporary things of this world.

King Solomon, who had everything, wealth, wisdom, and power, declared that all his achievements were meaningless apart from God (Ecclesiastes 2:10-11). Despite his vast riches and success, he realised that material things cannot bring lasting satisfaction or significance. Solomon concluded that fearing God and keeping His commandments matters (Ecclesiastes 12:13).

In our world today, it's easy to become attached to our possessions, careers, or social status. For example, a person might strive tirelessly for career success, believing it defines their value. However, God calls us to find our identity and contentment in Him, not worldly things. This doesn't mean we neglect our responsibilities, but we should hold material things loosely, understanding they are temporary and do not define our worth. When we prioritise God and His kingdom, we find true fulfilment.

*Prayer Requests:*

Lord, help me to detach my heart from worldly possessions and place my value in Your eternal promises.

Father, teach me to focus on storing treasures in heaven and not to be consumed by the temporary things of this world.

*Author's Comment*

Life is filled with mysteries events and circumstances we don't always understand. Sometimes, we encounter situations with questions about God's plan. Yet, the Bible teaches us that God's ways are higher, and His thoughts are higher than ours. We may not always understand, but we can trust He is in control. When we embrace the mystery of life with faith, we find peace in knowing that God is working everything for our good, even when the way forward seems unclear.

Job's life is a classic example of enduring the mystery of life. Despite his faithfulness, Job experienced immense suffering, losing his wealth, health, and family. He couldn't understand why God allowed such tragedy, but God's sovereignty prevailed. God restored Job's fortunes and revealed His more excellent plan. The mystery of Job's suffering had a divine purpose. Job could only fully comprehend after persevering through trials.

In life, we may face unanswered questions about loss, hardship, or unexpected blessings. These mysteries can test our faith, but there are opportunities to trust God deeply. For example, when faced with job loss, we can lean on God's promise that He will provide instead of despairing. The Scripture affirms that the time, tides, and chances happen to everyone (Ecclesiastes 9:11).

The mystery becomes an opportunity to witness God's faithfulness and provision. Embracing mystery with faith allows us to see beyond the surface and recognise God's purpose in our journey.

*Prayer Point*

1. Lord, help me to trust in Your plans even when life feels uncertain and confusing.

2. Father, give me the faith to embrace the mysteries of life, knowing that You are working all things for my good.

*Author's Comment*

God elevates us not because of our merit but purely by His grace. This kind of promotion defies logic, as it's not a result of our efforts but God's unmerited favour. This principle is evident in the life of Joseph, who rose from a prisoner to second-in-command in Egypt. Despite his circumstances, God's purpose prevailed in his life. Joseph's journey shows us that God can elevate us even when we seem undeserving as long as we remain faithful and trust His timing.

Joseph, sold into slavery by his brothers, endured false accusations and imprisonment, yet God elevated him to become Pharaoh's advisor. This elevation wasn't based on Joseph's status or connections but on God's grace. His faithful service, humility, and trust in God paved the way for this undeserved promotion.

There may be moments when we are promoted at work, recognised in our communities, or given opportunities we didn't expect. These moments remind us of God's grace and ability to elevate us beyond our qualifications. Like Joseph, we must stay humble and trust God through the challenges, knowing His purpose surpasses our understanding.

*Prayer Point*

1. Lord, help me remain humble and faithful as I trust in Your timing.

2. Father, grant me the grace to recognize and steward the undeserved blessings You place in my path.

📌 *Memory Verse:*
Exodus 23:32
_"Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods."_

✨ *Reflection:*
*TEXT: DEUT 7:1-6*

*Author's Comment*

Today, we reflect on God's commandments and warnings found in Deuteronomy 7:1-6 and Exodus 23:32. These passages remind us of the importance of obedience and faithfulness in our walk with God. Deuteronomy 7:1-6 - Obedience Brings Blessing. God instructs the Israelis to destroy the nations in the promised land and not to make treaties or intermarry with them. In Deuteronomy 7:2 (KJV) the Bible says: “And when the Lord thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them."

Why did tell the Israelis to obey the commandment of not compromising? God reminds His people that they are a chosen and special nation, set apart for Himself. Deuteronomy 7:6 (KJV) pointed out that "For thou art a holy people unto the Lord thy God: The Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth." In Exodus 23:32 God cautions against compromise against making treaties with the inhabitants of the land, emphasizing that such compromises will lead to spiritual harm. The lessons from today’s reading are Spiritual Fidelity. Just as God commanded the Israelis to remain faithful and obedient to Him, we are called to uphold spiritual fidelity in our lives. This means staying true to God's commandments and resisting the temptations of compromise with worldly values and practices.

There are consequences of compromise. The warnings in these passages remind us of the consequences of compromising our faith and values. When we allow worldly influences to infiltrate our lives, we risk diluting our commitment to God and His purposes. God promises blessings and favour to those who obey His word wholeheartedly. By aligning our lives with His will and purpose, we open ourselves to His abundant blessings and protection.

*Prayer point*

1. Father, help us obey Your commands faithfully and avoid compromise. Amen.

2. keep us steadfast in Your word, guarding us against compromise. Amen.

📌 *Memory Verse:*

✨ *Reflection:*
*Author's Comment*

Character growth is an essential aspect of the Christian journey. As believers, we are called to continually develop and mature in our faith, aligning our lives with the teachings of Jesus Christ. The passages from 1 Peter 2:1-5 and 2 Peter 3:18 provide a road map for this spiritual growth. A Christian that would grow must follow these five major roads from the passages read today: Firstly, you must lay aside sinful behaviours (1 Peter 2:1) - The first step in character growth is to lay aside negative behaviours such as malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander. These actions hinder our spiritual development and create barriers in our relationship with God and others. This is supported by Ephesians 4:31-32 (KJV).

The second step is to desire Spiritual Nourishment (1 Peter 2:2) - Just as newborn babies crave milk for growth and development, believers should earnestly desire the "sincere milk of the word" – the pure teachings of the Bible. This spiritual nourishment is crucial for growth in faith. The third point is ‘Tasting the Lord's Goodness’ (1 Peter 2:3) - Experiencing God's grace and goodness motivate believers to seek further growth. When we have tasted the kindness of the Lord, our desire to deepen our relationship with Him increases. Psalm 34:8 (KJV) says "O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him."

The fourth point is for us to Build a Spiritual House (1 Peter 2:4-5)- Coming to Christ, the "living stone," we too become "lively stones" in God's spiritual house. This signifies the importance of community and the collective growth of the church. We are called to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices pleasing to God. Finally, we must grow in Grace and Knowledge (2 Peter 3:18) - The memory verse highlights the continual growth in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Character growth in the Christian life is a journey that involves shedding old, sinful habits and earnestly seeking spiritual nourishment through God's Word.

*Prayer point*

1.Lord, help me grow in Your likeness each day.

2.Father, help me to grow in faith and your knowledge

*Author's Comment*

In life, we often face challenges and difficult times that seem overwhelming. During these moments, it is essential to identify and appreciate the burden bearers in our lives. The story of Ruth and Boaz in the Bible provides a powerful illustration of this concept. In Ruth 2:15-23 (KJV), in the Scripture, Ruth, a young widow, is struggling to provide for herself and her mother-in-law, Naomi. Despite the hardships, she remains loyal and determined, working diligently in the fields to gather food. Boaz, a relative of Naomi, becomes a burden bearer for Ruth by instructing his workers to let her glean among the sheaves and even leave extra grain for her to collect.

Boaz's actions are a powerful testament to how one person's kindness and support can significantly impact another's life. Naomi, too, plays a crucial role as a burden bearer. She offers Ruth wisdom and guidance, reassuring her to "sit still" and trust that Boaz will resolve their situation (RUTH 3:18). Naomi's encouragement and belief in Boaz's integrity provide Ruth with the emotional support she needs to navigate her challenges. We learn that burden bearers can come in various forms: friends and family, mentors and benefactors.

Jesus Christ is considered the burden bearer in Christian belief because He took upon Himself the sins of humanity (1 Peter 2:24), offers rest to the weary, intercedes on behalf of believers and provides strength in weakness (Matthew 11:28-30). It’s important to know the burden bearers in our lives and express gratitude for their support. Equally important is our role in becoming burden bearers for others. When we extend kindness, support, and resources to those in need, we make a profound difference in their lives, just as Boaz did for Ruth. Pray and help a brother this year, God will bail you out too.

*Prayer points*

1.Lord, empower me to appreciate and pray for my burden bearers.

2.Father help me to strive to be a burden bearer in the name of Jesus.

📖 *CHURCH CHALLENGES III (NON-CONVERTS)*

🗓 *Date:* 2025-10-14

📌 *Memory Verse:*
Acts 14:2
_“but the unbelieving Jews stirred up the gentiles and made their minds evil affected against the brethren”._

✨ *Reflection:*
*ACTS 5: 1-10*

*Author comments*

A non-convert can be described as someone who has not been changed, adapted, or modified. On the other hand, the church is “the body of Christ” that he nourishes and cares for as He does Himself. It is the glorious temple in which he is pleased to dwell (Revelation 21:3). Paul describes the church as God’s field, he also referred to it as God’s building in 1 Corinthians 3:9, but in verse 16, he referred to the church as God’s temple, this is where the challenge facing the church today can be clearly understood. The church, the temple of God, is filled by non-converts.

In our memory verse, it was reported that the unbelieving Jews stirred up the gentiles, and made minds evil affected against the brethren. Ananias and Sapphire were examples of non-converts in the early church. They saw other people selling and giving whatever, they had to the church, hence they copied them but kept part of the proceeds away. When asked by Peter whether the amount they brought was all that they sold their land, they lied and said yes. Peter told them that while it remained was it not thine own? And after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? Why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? Thou hast not lied unto man but unto God. This act which is typical of unbelievers led to their death.

Brethren, the bible commanded that we should have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them (Eph. 5:11). To reprove the unfruitful works of darkness has two dimensions. Firstly, examine your life so that you are not another Ananias, with Sapphira in the church. People who have been in the church for several years but have not been changed or modified in any way have the privilege to hold sensitive positions in the church. The second dimension is that you should show yourself as the light of the world to any non-convert in the church so that they can depart from their darkness and embrace the shining light of God in your life.

*Prayer point*

1.Lord, give me the grace to be able to examine my life always

2.Father, let my light so shine that it will erase every appearance of darkness from the church.
