MINISTERING: REV. Emmanuel Patrick Undie
TOPIC: THE NEW COVENANT: ITS REALITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
READING TEXTS: Hebrews 8:6
Luke 22:20
The New Covenant is not an improvement of the old; it is a replacement.
WHAT IS THE NEW COVENANT?
The New Covenant is God’s agreement with humanity through Jesus Christ, established on grace and sealed by His blood.
Hebrews 8:6. Luke 22:20.
The Old Covenant was based on human obedience; the New Covenant is based on Christ’s obedience.
Declaration:
I live under a better covenant.
WHAT THE NEW COVENANT PROVIDES
•Complete Forgiveness
Hebrews 10:17
•Forgiveness in the New Covenant is final, not temporary.
•A New Heart and Inner Transformation
Hebrews 8:10
•God does not just change our behavior; He changes our hearts.
•Direct Access to God
Hebrews 10:19
•In the New Covenant, access is a right, not a reward.
Declaration:
I have access to God by the blood of Jesus.
WHAT THE NEW COVENANT DOES NOT MEAN
•It Does Not Mean Lawlessness.
Romans 6:15
•Grace does not excuse sin; grace empowers obedience.
•It Does Not Remove Responsibility
Titus 2:11-12
•Grace teaches us how to live.
•In the New Covenant, obedience flows from relationship, not fear.
OUR RESPONSE TO THE NEW COVENANT

Hebrews 4:2
•Gratitude and Worship
Colossians 2:6-7
•Walking in New Identity
2 Corinthians 5:17
