Topic: EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP
Bible Text: 1 Samuel 12:1–5
Introduction God's desire for humanity is that we exercise leadership and dominion. Leadership means having influence, authority, or responsibility over others. God has empowered every person to lead and positively influence others, regardless of age, position, background, or race.
Leadership is the ability to influence and guide people to accomplish what they may not have been able or willing to do on their own.
Exemplary leadership is using our influence to advance the Kingdom of God by demonstrating the values of heaven through our teaching, character, and actions.

WHY WE ARE CALLED TO LEAD

1. We Were Created to Have Dominion Genesis 1:28 God created mankind to exercise dominion over His creation and to be responsible stewards.
2. We Are Chosen to Overcome Challenges. God appoints leaders to confront obstacles, solve problems, and bring positive change

HOW TO EXERCISE EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP

1. Empower Others Philippians 2:4 A good leader considers the interests of others and helps them succeed.
2. Be a Source of Encouragement Inspire, motivate, and strengthen others to fulfil God's purpose.
3. Create Opportunities for Growt. Galatians 6:10 Use every opportunity to help others develop spiritually, emotionally, and practically.

4. Live with Integrity and Courage John 14:6, 17 An exemplary leader must be truthful, honest, and courageous in every situation.

5. Be Bold. A leader must be confident in doing what is right, even when it is difficult.
6. Become a Solution to Other People's Problems. Great leaders look for ways to solve problems rather than create them.

QUALITIES OF AN EXEMPLARY LEADER

1. Live According to God's Word . Ephesians 5:1–2 A good leader should live a life that reflects biblical principles.
2. Believe in God and His Word Faith in God is the foundation of godly leadership.
3. Love God and His People True leadership is rooted in genuine love for God and those we serve.
4. Have a Good Reputation 2 Timothy 3 A good leader should maintain a good testimony and manage his or her household well.

5. Demonstrate the Fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5:22–23 Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control should be evident in a leader's life.

6. Inspire Others to Trust God. A godly leader encourages people to place their confidence in God and His Word.

EXAMPLES OF EXEMPLARY LEADERS IN THE BIBLE

1. Abraham – The father of faith.
2. Isaac – Passed his father's faith on to the next generation.
3. Jacob – Trusted the God of his fathers and taught his children to do the same.
4. Joseph – Remained faithful to God despite worldly temptations.
5. Moses – Mentored Joshua and prepared him for leadership.
6. Joshua – Stood firmly for God in his generation.
7. Naomi – Guided Ruth to know and serve the true God.
8. Eli – Helped Samuel recognize God's voice.
9. Samuel – Served Israel as an honest and faithful leader.
10. Mordecai – Guided Esther in the fear of God and encouraged her to fulfil her divine assignment.
11. Jesus Christ – Our perfect example of godly leadership.

WHY WE MUST PRACTISE EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP

1. To Fulfil God's Original Purpose Genesis 1:26 Leadership enables God's will to be accomplished through humanity.
2. To Establish God's Kingdom Matthew 6:10 As we do God's will on earth, His Kingdom is revealed through our lives.
3. To Demonstrate God's Love. Godly leadership reflects His love, compassion, and mercy to others.
4. To Reveal God's Light and Truth to the World Our leadership should point people to Christ and glorify God.

THE REWARDS OF EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP

1. Divine Guidance God directs those who faithfully lead according to His will.
2. God's Provision and Blessings Faithful leaders experience God's favour and abundant provision.
3. Divine Protection God preserves and strengthens those who remain faithful during trials and challenges.
4. Eternal Reward The greatest reward of faithful leadership is an eternal inheritance in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Conclusion Exemplary leadership is not measured by position, power, or popularity, but by godly influence, faithful service, and a life that points others to Christ.
Samuel could confidently testify before Israel that he had led with integrity (1 Samuel 12:1–5). Likewise, every believer is called to live and lead in such a way that our lives become examples worthy of imitation.
Whether you lead in your family, church, workplace, community, or nation, let your leadership reflect the character of Christ. Lead with humility, serve with love, stand for truth, and influence others for the Kingdom of God.

KNOWING THE PURPOSE OF YOUR CALLING
Bible Text: John 1:19–23
Introduction
Purpose is the reason or objective behind a person's existence. It is also the primary reason God created every individual. In this passage, we see John the Baptist as a perfect example of someone who understood the purpose of his life and calling.
John came in the spirit and power of Elijah, as foretold by the prophets. His mission was to prepare the way for the coming of the Lord. He lived a life of separation in the wilderness, fully devoted to his divine assignment.
When the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to question him, John openly declared that he was not the Christ, but "the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord" (John 1:19–23).
As Christians, we should ask ourselves:
* Do I know the purpose of my life?
* Do I understand God's calling upon my life?
* Do I know why I was saved?
Am I fulfilling the position God has placed me in?
LESSONS FROM THE LIFE OF JOHN THE BAPTIST
John 1:35–37
1. He Knew the Purpose of His Calling John clearly understood why God sent him into the world. He never confused his assignment with someone else's.
2. He Followed His Calling Faithfully John remained committed to the mission God entrusted to him. He neither abandoned nor exchanged his calling for personal gain.
3. He Sacrificed Himself for His Calling Because he understood the importance and timing of his divine assignment, John dedicated his entire life to fulfilling God's purpose.
HOW TO DISCOVER THE PURPOSE OF YOUR CALLING
1. Through the Study of God's Word Psalm 119:105. The Scriptures are God's lamp and guide for discovering His will.
2. Through Prayer. A sincere prayer life enables us to hear God's direction.
3. Through the Guidance of the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit reveals God's plans and leads believers into His perfect will.
4. Through Prophetic Insight 1 Samuel 9. God sometimes reveals His purpose through His prophets and faithful servants.
5. Through Direct Revelation from God Jeremiah 1:4–5. God can personally reveal His purpose through His Word and His voice.
HOW TO FOLLOW THE PURPOSE OF YOUR CALLING
1. Know What God Has Spoken Concerning You Understand His promises, instructions, and purpose for your life.
2. Walk According to His Prophetic Word Live in obedience to God's revealed will and His promises.
3. Discipline Yourself Develop spiritual strength and self-control so you will not destroy your destiny through careless living or fleshly desires.
4. Always Remember Why God Called You Never lose sight of your divine assignment.
5. Seek God's Direction Daily Allow your character and lifestyle to reflect God's nature.
WHAT YOU NEED TO FULFIL YOUR DIVINE DESTINY
1. Faith Hebrews 11:1 Faith enables us to believe God even when the future is unseen.
2. Courage Joshua 1:6–7 Fulfilling God's purpose requires boldness and confidence.
3. Patience Like Joseph and David, wait for God's appointed time.
4. Perseverance Like Paul, remain steadfast despite trials, opposition, and suffering.
5. A Willingness to Sacrifice Be prepared to sacrifice your time, comfort, finances, position, relationships, and anything that may hinder your calling.
6. Integrity Live truthfully, stand for the truth, and be a person of honesty and godly character.
OBSTACLES TO FULFILLING YOUR CALLING
1. Bad Advice 1 Kings 12:8–11 Wrong counsel can destroy God's purpose for your life.
2. Impatience Like Saul, impatience can lead to costly mistakes.
3. Lack of Faith in God Doubting God and relying solely on yourself can hinder your destiny.
4. Wrong Ambitions and Evil Associations Ungodly goals and bad company can derail your calling.
5. Wrong Marriage 1 Kings 21:25 An ungodly marriage or relationship can negatively affect God's purpose for your life.
THE REWARDS OF FULFILLING YOUR CALLING
1. A Life of Purpose and Fulfilment You will live a meaningful life that glorifies God.
2. Transforming Lives God will use you to positively impact your generation.
3. Faithful Service as Christ's Witness Your life will bring honour and glory to Christ.
4. Positive Influence Your example will encourage and inspire others to follow God.
5. Becoming a Channel of Blessing You will become a source of both spiritual and physical blessings to many people.
Conclusion The purpose of life is found in discovering why God created you. Once you discover your God-given purpose, remain committed to it until the end of your life.
A life only becomes truly meaningful when a person fulfils the divine assignment for which God brought them into the world.
Discover your purpose. Remain faithful to your calling. Finish your assignment. Then your life will become a lasting testimony to the glory of God.
