*Jonah Was Thrown Into The Sea*
*Jonah 1:7-16*
The attitude of Jonah was that of outright disobedience, which was rooted in rebellion. How many times have we been disobedient to the voice of the Holy Spirit? The men got to know that Jonah’s presence with them in the ship was the cause of their trouble. He explained to them exactly what happened which made them to be sore afraid. Despite their reluctance, they had no choice than to throw Jonah overboard, and the storm subsided. Our disobedience can lead to the calamity of other people. Don’t be an Achan (Jos. 7: 20-21, 24-25) as your sin will find you out. Just as Achan’s disobedience led to the defeat by Ai and the death of thirty-six men (Jos. 7:5), the disobedience of Jonah with his presence in the ship brought loss of cargo and a threat to their soul before he was discovered.
*Point of Emphasis:* Our disobedience can have a multiplier effect on others’ peace.
*Prayer Point:* O Lord, help me to avert the path of disobedience and its consequences in the name of Jesus.
