PICTORIALS FROM THE PASTORAL VISIT TO HOLY ROSARY PARISH, UMUEHIE, ANARA, ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2026
We thank God for the grace of the pastoral visit to Holy Rosary Parish, Umuehie, Anara, and congratulate the 22 candidates who received the Sacrament of Confirmation during the visit. May the grace of the Holy Spirit strengthen them in faith and inspire them to live as faithful witnesses of Christ.
The parish experienced a lively and grace-filled ceremony as it welcomed the Bishop for his pastoral visit. Drawing inspiration from the readings of the day, the Bishop urged the congregation and all members of society to shun sin, emphasising that sin offers no lasting benefit but rather leads to harmful consequences.
Using the analogy of a locust, he explained that, despite its apparent size, its legs and body contain no flesh. In the same way, sin may appear attractive and enticing, but it ultimately offers no true gain. He further admonished the faithful not to postpone repentance, reminding them that no one knows when the Master will call them from this earthly life.
While highlighting the consequences of sin, the Bishop also reassured the faithful of God's enduring mercy and love. He encouraged everyone to make good use of the time granted to them on earth by embracing repentance, living righteously, and remaining faithful to God.
May this pastoral visit renew the faith of the parish community and strengthen its members in their commitment to Christ and His Church.
