TEXT: John 10:1-10
TOPIC: JESUS, DOOR OF SALVATION
ANCHOR VERSE: John 10:9, "I am the Door; anyone who enters in through Me will be saved (will live). He will come in and he will go out [freely], and will find pasture."
Today's text is all about one of the I Am saying of Jesus, He explained the more the people should know and believe why He was sent by His Father, He changes from shepherd to door, that anyone that wants to be saved must have pass through Him, without anyone passing through His own door, they have enter through the wrong door and the end is destruction.
Jesus is the One, through whom eternal life is recieved, Jesus gave a sure guarantee that salvation is given to those who trust Christ. It is made plain that these only are saved. Christ is necessary and sufficient for salvation.
Entering through Jesus' door give access to sheep for a sure safety and go out their shepherd's guidance for pasture.
Matthew 7:13-14 "Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious and broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are those who are entering through it. But the gate is narrow (contracted by pressure) and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it. [Deut. 30:19; Jer. 21:8.]
John 3:36 "And he who believes in (has faith in, clings to, relies on) the Son has (now possesses) eternal life. But whoever disobeys (is unbelieving toward, refuses to trust in, disregards, is not subject to) the Son will never see (experience) life, but [instead] the wrath of God abides on him. [God's displeasure remains on him; His indignation hangs over him continually.]"
Many people today, are getting it wrong in life; because they try to enter through a door that is no door. The devil has kept many people busy at the wrong door. He has occupied their minds with different means of pleasing God which can never bring them close to God. Forgetting that the scripture has made it clear in Proverbs 14:12 "There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but at the end of it is the way of death."
Salvation cannot be earned through works and efforts; rather it is given freely by Jesus, in this analogy of the Good Shepherd, Jesus stressed to His listeners that He alone is the Door for the Sheep. It is only by entering through Jesus, the true Door that can experience and enjoy salvation, safety and satisfaction. Stop trying to get saved, just enter through the Door which is Jesus and you will experience the love care and protection of the Good Shepherd.
Jesus said in John 14:6, *"........I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me." No Jesus, No Eternal Life, come to Him and you shall be saved!
QUOTE OF WISDOM: Christ is our faithful Shepherd put your trust in Him, because He's able to deliver and to save those who put their trust in Him.
