2. Too long His followers idly stood By selfish creed and doctrine rent;
Nor knew that for one Brotherhood, His own short life was spent.

3. Unite and in His strength go on,
Nor count a life as lost , but gain ;
And soon the victory shall be won,
For Jesus Christ must reign,
4. To dare and do for Him is meet,
The struggle shall not be be in vain,
The trumpet shall not call " Retreat",
