SUNDAY 23RD JUNE 2024
THEME: THE PRICE OF LEADERSHIP
TOPIC: BE A SERVANT LEADER
TEXT: MARK 10:38 -END

MEMORY VERSE: MARK 10:43 : But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister (KJV)

INTRODUCTION
We live in a world today where leaders are constantly being selected to govern the
people at various levels, the question remains how do they get selected? How do
know they will lead well? The criterion for leadership has become biased as we see unqualified and selfish leaders' rule. The Christian service is one that requires that one becomes humble to his/her service. The service of God is not done with pride or an avenue to showcase oneself but a call to servanthood. Jesus spoke to His disciples and admonished them that to become the leader, one must first be a servant (Mark 10:38). Wherever we have a servant leader, the society experiences peace and progress. Even circular leadership seminar teaches us that to be a good leader, you must be a good follower. This is exemplified in the lives
of Joshua, Esther, Elisha, and Samuel.

STUDY OUTLINE
QUALITIES OF A SERVANT LEADER
1 Integrity: If One must become a servant leader, he must have a high level of integrity (Proverb 21:3)
2. Humility: The Bible emphasizes that humility is one of the core values of a servant leader (I Peter 5:5; Philippians 2:8).
3. Selflessness: Leaders are called to prioritize the needs and interests of others over their own (Philippians 2:3-5; Colossians 3:12).
4. Leading by example: Leaders are expected to willingly serve others without seeking personal gain or exerting authority for their own sake. They should set examples that others will follow (John 13:1-15; 1 Peter
52-3:Titus 2:7).
5. Flexibility: A good servant leader can adapt properly into his environment (Philippians 4:12-13).
6. Resillence: A servant leader should have the ability to endure issues when it arises (Hebrew 12:1-2:2 Tim. 2:3).
7. Stewardship: A good servant leader is someone who manages resources properly (John 6:12: 1 Peter 4:10)
8. Empathy: A good servant leader is willing to share his neighbor's p pains with him (Galatians 6:2; Romans 12:15).
9. Joy in service: Servant leaders find joy in and serving others and contributing to the well-being and growth of those t they lead. The on collaborative and uplifting leadership (Colossians 3:23-24; Luke 10:17)

HOW TO BE A SERVENT LEADER
1. Listen effectively: Every good servant leader must have good listening ears to his subjects (James 1:19)
2. Grow others: A good servant leader should always have the growth of his/her subject in mind (Proverb 27: 17; Acts 16:1-3)
3. Assign responsibilities but take the lead: The servant leader creates an all hands on the deck environment (Ephesians 4:11;Luke 10:1).
4. Carry people along: When the people being led are put in the loop of all developments, they value their leader more (Luke 22:39-40: Exodus 24:13-14).
5. Develop a servant's heart: To develop a servant's heart means recognizing that true leadership involves selfless service for the benefit of others (Mark 10:45)

SOME BIBILICAL EXAMPLES OF SERVANT LEADERS
1. Jesus Christ: Jesus is the perfect example of a servant leader. His lie and teaching emphasized humility, sacrificial love, and service to others (Mark 10:45).
2. Moses: Despite his significant role as a leader, Moses demonstrated humility and a willingness to intercede on behalf of his people (Numbers 12:3; Exodus 32:33).
3. David: He stood for the weak soldiers to get a share of the spoil at the return of the slaughter of Amalekite (1 Samuel 30: 21-25).
4. Apostle Paul: Paul exemplified servant leadership and willingly adapted to t the needs of others, and tirelessly serving to share the message of God (1 Corinthians 9:19)
5. Esther: Esther's willingness to save her people reflects a servant-hearted approach to leadership. putting the needs of others before her own safety (Esther 4:16)
6. Joseph: Joseph's service in Potiphar's house (as chief servant) and later at the Egyptian prison (as coordinator) demonstrated a faithful and diligent attitude showcasing servant leadership talents (Genesis 39:4-6)

CONCLUSION
Looking at Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, He Has led a very crucial example to all leaders to emulate. His teachings and lifestyle gave us an insight into what true leadership is all about. God wants us to be true leaders of our tomorrow and make positive impact in the church and society at large.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I come to you today, I ask that you make me a true leader, that will represent you well in my calling in Jesus' name. AMEN!

SUNDAY 16TH JUNE 2024
THEME: THE PRICE OF LEADERSHIP
TOPIC: LEARNING FATHERHOOD FROM GOD
TEXT: 1 JOHN 2:1-15

MEMORY VERSE: 1 JOHN 1 2:14 'I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one' (KJV)

INTRODUCTION
The fatherhood of God is perhaps the most overlooked attribute of God in the Christian world. God birthed the first man Adam, and this qualified Him as the first father that ever lived. We must emulate every step and teachings He has to offer as our father to become worthy fathers here on earth. Understanding fatherhood through the lens of God's character provides profound insights into the qualities and responsibilities of a father. God's love is abundant and unconditional, serving as a model for all fathers to love their children totally and deeply (1 John 3:1). If they fail to learn fatherhood from the ultimate model of it, how do we succeed in this assignment?

STUDY OUTLINE
FATHERLY ATTRIBUTES OF GOD
1. Love: God has always shown great love to all his children even in their Sins. This cumulated in the sending of his son to redeem man. This love is unconditional (John 3:16: 1 John 3:1: Romans 8:38-39)
2. Discipline and guidance: God's discipline is rooted in love. He does not fail to chastise His sons when they are wrong (Proverbs 3:11-12)
3. Provision and protection: God's role as a provider and protector can be seen with evidence all around us (Matthew 6:26)
4. Patience and forgiveness: God's compassion and patience serves as model for fathers encouraging them to be understanding and forgiving (Psalm 103:13)
5. Leading by example: God's nature is to lead by example, and everyone needs to be able to walk with Him in that path of life (Ephesians 5:1-2).
6. Blessing and Healing: The position of God as our heavenly father to bless and heal is incomparable (Deuteronomy 28: Exodus 15:26).

CHARACTERISTICS OFA GODLY FATHER
1. A Godly father loves his children (3 John 1:4; Psalm103:13; Mathew 7:9-11)
2. A Godly father provides an example worth following (Titus 2:7-8; Proverb 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:1)
3. A Godly father teaches (Proverb 22:6;1 Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Proverb 4:1)
4. A Godly father disciplines his children (Proverb 3:12; 1 Proverb 23:13-14)
5. A Godly father prays (Colossians 4:2; Mathew 21:22)
6. A Godly father nurtures spiritually, physically, and emotionally (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).
7. A Godly father supports even other people's children (1 Samuel 3:).

SOME EVIDENCE OF GODLY FATHERHOOD
1. Receives the blessing of Children: Godly Fathers are often blessed with children (Psalm 127:3-5).
2. Raising the right Children: Godly fathers are known to raise good children that represent them well in society (Ephesians 6:4).
3. Lives in Wealth: There are some spiritual wealth that is released around fathers who represent God well (Psalm 112:1-3; Psalm 128:1)
4. Raise a Healthy family: There is high level of reciprocated respect found in the life of children raised by godly fathers (Proverb 14:26; Genesis 18:19).
5. Receives accolades from society: There is a high level of reciprocated respect found in the life of children raised by godly fathers (Isaiah 54:13: Psalm 72:17).

CONCLUSION
God has shown his fatherhood to us in a direct manner by creating all things a establishing man. He Has set the ultimate example as to what a fatherhood entails. We are to follow and lead the world to a better place. Learning fatherhood from God involves embracing the qualities of love. discipline, provision, and guidance. Fathers can find inspiration and guidance in God's example as they strive to fulfill their roles with love, wisdom, and grace.

PRAYER
Heavenly father, help us in our quest to become exemplary fathers, and guide us through this fatherhood journey, in Jesus' name AMEN.

ESOCS CHURCH 2024 ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL MANUAL
SUNDAY 26TH MAY 2024
THEME: EQUIPPING THE SAINTS
TOPIC: THE DOCTRINE OF TRINITY
TEXT: 1 JOHN 5: 1-15

MEMORY VERSE: 1 JOHN 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one (KJV).

INTRODUCTION
According to Miriam Webster Dictionary, the term Trinity refers to the unity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as three persons in one Godhead according to Christian dogma. The Trinity Sunday is the Sunday after the Pentecost Sunday which is observed as a feast in honor of the Trinity. The doctrine of the Trinity means that there is one God who eternally exists as three distinct Persons - the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Stated differently, God is one in essence and three in person. The Bible speaks of the Father as God (Phil. 1:2), Jesus as God (Titus
2:13), and the Holy Spirit as God (Acts 5:3-4). Also, according to our text, there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and
these three are one (1 John 5:7). The Trinity is often summarized in the phrase "One God in Three Persons" or expressed as "Father, Son, and Holy Spirit." It's important to note that the concept of the Trinity is complex and has been a subject of theological reflection and debate throughout Christian history. While the term "Trinity" itself is not found in the Bible, the theology is a conceptual idea derived from various passages that speak to the oneness of God and explains the distinct roles of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

STUDY OUTLINE
THE THREE PERSONS IN THE TRINITY
1. God the Father: God the Father is the Creator, the Source of all existence, and the One who sent the Son into the world (Ephesians 4:6).
2. God the Son (Jesus Christ): Jesus Christ is the second person of the Trinity, fully divine and fully human, who came to earth to reveal God, provide salvation, and reconcile humanity to God (John 1:1-14; Colossians 1:15).
3. God the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, often referred to as the Comforter, Advocate, or Counselor. The Holy Spirit empowers believers, convicts of sin, and guides into all truth (John 14:16-17: Acts 1 :8).

BIBLICAL FOUNDATIONS ON THE DOCTRINE OF TRINITY
1. The Great Commission: This is a clear command from Jesus to preach and baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, indicating a shared divine identity (Matthew 28: 19).
2. The Baptism of Jesus: The event of the baptism of Jesus Christ presented a clear manifestation of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in a single context (Matthew 3:16-17).
3. The Promise of the Holy Spirit: The promise is a collaborative work of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in the sending of the Holy Spirit. (John 14:26).
4. The Baptismal Formula: The triadic formula in the context of baptism, associating it with the name of Jesus Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).
5. The Benediction: This benediction from the Apostle Paul expresses the grace of Jesus, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit in a triadic formula (2 Corinthians 13:14).
6. The Prologue of John: John's prologue speaks of the Word (Jesus) being with God and being God. It also mentions the Word becoming flesh and dwelling among us. It lays the groundwork for understanding the
divinity of Christ (John 1:1-14).
7. The Incarnation and the Holy Spirit: The angel Gabriel's announcement to Mary about the conception of Jesus by the Holy Spirit
emphasizes the role of the Father, the Holy Spirit, and the Son in the Incarnation. (Luke 1:35).

LESSONS FROM THE TRINITY
1. Unity in Diversity: The Trinity demonstrates unity in diversity, where three distinct persons share a perfect, harmonious relationship while being one (Deuteronomy 6:4; John 10:30).
2. Distinct Roles within Unity: Each person of the Trinity has distinct roles while maintaining perfect unity. The Father plans and sends, the Son accomplishes redemption, and the Holy Spirit empowers and sanctifies (John 3:16; John 14:26).
3. Interdependence and Cooperation: The Trinity teaches us the beauty of interdependence and cooperation among the persons of the Godhead (John 15:26; John 16:13).
4. Relationship of Love: The relationship within the Trinity is characterized by perfect love. This sets an example for believers to strive for loving relationships with one another (1 John 4:8; John 17:24).
5. Eternal Existence: The Trinity highlights the eternal existence of God. Each person of the Trinity has existed from eternity past and will exist forever. (John 1:1; Revelation 1:8)
6. Salvation Plan: The Trinity plays a crucial role in the salvation plan, with the Father sending the Son to save humanity, and the Holy Spirit convicting and empowering believers (Romans 5:8; John 16:7).

CONCLUSION
The doctrine of the Trinity in Christianity articulates the nature of God as three distinct persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-existing in perfect unity and sharing the same divine essence. The doctrine reflects the mysterious and complex nature of the Triune God, emphasizing the unity in diversity within the Godhead. Christians apply the understanding of this doctrine during prayers and other sacraments.

PRAYER
Dear Lord, thank You for the revelation of the Trinity. Thank You for the gift of Your Son and Spirit. Help us to worship You in truth and in spirit and to uphold the witnesses of the Trinity; in Jesus' name. Amen.

ESOCS CHURCH 2024 ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL MANUAL
SUNDAY 12TH MAY 2024
THEME: EQUIPPING THE SAINTS
TOPIC: THE RELEVANCE OF CHRISTIAN
ORDINATIONS AND APPOINTMENTS
TEXT: MARK 3:13-30

MEMORY VERSE: MARK 3:24 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach". (KJV)

INTRODUCTION
The subject of ordination and appointments to positions in the body of Christ is beginning to raise serious concerns in the modern day church. In almost every denomination, there are presently tussles and hassles for leadership positions and crisis in leadership or succession plans. Christians now go any length and devise despicable means to obtain ordination and appointments in church. This include Iying, forgery and falsification of evidence; bribery and campaign of calumny. There seems to be no difference between the ways of the world and the ways of the church when it comes to man's inordinate desire to grab positions by hook or crook. It is pertinent to highlight that this was not seen in the life and ministry of Jesus. Our text x-rayed how Jesus appointed the twelve disciples and perfectly outlined the reason for their appointment. Therefore, we intend to study the reasons and relevance of Christian ordinations with the view to guide our understanding on what to do with the ordinations and appointment we have received.

STUDY OUTLINE
REASONS FOR CHRISTIAN ORDINATION
The biblical foundation for appointing or ordaining leaders in the church include the following:
1. Spiritual Oversight and Guidance: This is for the purpose of overseeing the flock and guiding them on the right paths (Acts 20:28;
Peter 5:1-2; Hebrews 13:17).
2. Equipping the Saints: For the purpose of building up, edifying and training the church both in words and actions so as to uphold the lifestyle, values and ideals that are traceable to Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-12; 2
Timothy 2:2; Colossians 1:28).
3. Teaching and Preaching: Leaders are appointed or ordained to teach and preach the Word of God, helping the Congregation grow in their understanding of the scriptures and the ways of God (1 Timothy 3:2).
4. Unity and Order: Christian ordination and appointment help establish order within the church, ensuring that activities and decisions are carried out in an organized and edifying manner (1 Corinthians 14:40).
5. Discipleship and Mentorship: Leaders play a crucial role in disciplining and mentoring others, passing on the faith and teachings of
the church to future generations (2 Timothy 2:2).
6. Caring for the Flock: Leaders are called to care for the well-being of the church members, providing pastoral care and support (1 Peter 5:2-3).
7. Prayer and Spiritual Leadership: Elders are ordained to provide spiritual leadership, including prayer and pastoral care during times of need (James 5:14).
8. Community Outreach and Mission: Leaders are appointed to lead the church in fulfilling the Great Commission, reaching out to the community and engaging in mission and evangelism (Matthew 28: 19-20).

ATTRIBUTES THAT QUALIFY SOMEONE FOR ORDINATION OR SPIRITUAL APPOINTMENT
1. Consistency in faith and devotion: Such person must have consistently shown serious commitment in faith and devotion (1 Timothy 3: 6-7; Hebrew 1 1:6; James 4:8).
2. Knowledge and structured training: Appointees will perform effectively if they are trained and equipped with the knowledge (2Timothy 2:15).
3. Integrity and moral character: Sound character disposition that is worthy of emulation is needed as a qualification for ordination (1Timothy 3:2-3; Titus 1:7-8; Proverb 11:3).
4. Administrative skills: Anyone skillful in administration, gained either through training or experience, will likely do well in leadership position (1 Corinthians 14:40; 1 Timothy 5: 7).
5. Financial discipline: Such person must have demonstrated financial discipline and should be financially stable (Matthew 6: 24; 1 Peter 5:2; Ecclesiastes 5:10).
6. Proven record of effective family management: Anyone that could not effectively manage his family will find it difficult managing the family of God. (1 Timothy 3:4-5: 1 Timothy 3:12).
7. Compassion and empathy: Leadership requires passion for soul and empathy for the suffering of others (1 Peter 3:8; Romans 12:15).

COMMON ABUSE OF ORDINATION AND APPOINTMENTS
1. Exploitation of members: It is a common abuse that some men of God and church elders exploit members due to their ignorance. Some promise them special spiritual coverings, instant miracles and prayers in return for financial gifts or donations (1Peter 5: 2-3).
2. Misuse of church funds for personal gains: It is a great abuse to church money for personal gains. Such activities attracts generational curses and consequences (1 Samuel 3:11-14).
3. Sexual misconduct: Inappropriate relationships, sexual harassment or abuse of power involving clergies, elders and congregants are not just tingling to the ear but sacrilegious (1 Corinthians 6: 18; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5).
4. Spiritual manipulations: This is where men of God, most especially prophets use religious influences to manipulate members' thoughts, actions or beliefs against their will for their personal benefits (2 Corinthians 4: 2;2 Timothy 2:15-18).
5. Authoritarianism, bullying and intimidation: This is the excessive use of authority to control, suppress members, bully and intimidate them especially those with different perspective ( Matthew 20:25-26; 1 Peter 5:3)
6. Neglect of Pastoral duties: Some people only remember their current ordination when there is a benefit, entitlements, or when it is time for another ordination. These people neglect the work and duties assigned to the ordination they have received (Acts 20: 28).

CONCLUSION
Ordinations and appointments are a critical leadership component of the church. It empowers believers to serve God in elevated capacity and gives high leve responsibility. It is important that persons trusted with ordination and appointments into positions do their best to make full proof of their ordinations (2Timothy 2:5).

PRAYER
Dear Lord, thank You: for the grace given to me to serve You in my capacity. Help
me to utilize my ordinations and positions to advance Your kingdom and fulfilI Your purpose that at the end of my service, I might receive a crown of Glory; in Jesus' name I prayed: Amen.

THEME: EQUIPPING THE SAINTS
TOPIC: DIVINE INVESTMENTS
TEXT: MATTHEW 25: 14-30

MEMORY VERSE: MATTHEW 25: 20 "And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talent saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. " (KJV)

INTRODUCTION
The primary reason for investment in any kind of business is for returns. Also, there are different returns for every kind of investment. In our text, Jesus portrayed God as a business man with different portfolios of investment while his servants are his investment managers. He also gave them the time to trade with the investment so as to make returns from the investments entrusted to their care. Justifiably, no investor will celebrate an underperforming or failing investment. God is equally unhappy when his investments in us fail to produce the desired yield. The aim of this study, is to help believers see their gift-sets, grace and
endowments as investments that ought to produce returns to God. When we understand life and our resources as divine investments, we will be very careful of how we utilize our resources, knowing fully well that we will be held accountable for how we use these resources. Our finances, time, gifts, network, connections, skills, jobs, wisdom, experience and even positions are all given to us by God based on trust. It is important that we handle them with care and use them to promote the agenda of God while we still have the privilege, bearing ! mind that these gifts might not be with us forever and that one day, the owner will request for account of our stewardship.

STUDY OUTLINE
UNDERSTANDING THE NATURE OF GOD'S INVESTMENT
1. God's investment in every man is unique: Every man has a distinct act of abilities and grace given to them by God. As our graces differ, so also our assignments (1 Peter 4: 10-11; Romans 12:4-6).
2. Every good thing of life is from God: Whatever we have was given and supplied from God and for the purpose of kingdom advancement and to positively affect humanity (James 1: 17; Romans 12:6-8; Luke 12:48).
3. God's gift is primarily for kingdom advancement: The gift from God is not to enrich ourselves and do as we please but to bring returns to the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 12:7; 1 Peter 4: 10-11).
4. There is a limited time to trade with God's investments: We must understand that urgency is required in carrying out the business of the kingdom as we are constrained by time (John 9:4; Ecclesiastes 9: 10; 5:15-16).
5. Every man will give account of stewardship: Our actions leave an audit trail. Whether we labored with our talents or we hid them to waste, we will all stand before God to give account for the use or misuse of
God's investments (Matthew 25: 19-27; Romans 14:12; 1 Corinthians 4:2).
6. There is a reward and punishment for good or bad use of divine investment: Whatever a man does with his talent, he will receive reward for it. (Galatians 6:9; Colossians 3: 23-24; 2 Corinthians 5:10)

WAYS THROUGH WHICH GOD CAN INVEST IN MAN
1. Placement in leadership position: Leadership positions, both spiritual and political are fiduciary (involving trust) positions from God with investment of resources which must be accounted for in due time (Numbers 27: 16-17; Jeremiah 3:15; Matthew 20:25-28).
2. Uncommon wisdom and knowledge: Wisdom comes from God. God can endow a man with a depth of wisdom that transcends any form of training or education. (Proverbs 2:6; Daniel 1:20; Job 12: 13).
3. Natural talents, special skills and abilities: These are divine deposits to enable profitability to God, and human kind. It is our responsibility to identify these talents, develop them and use it to the glory of God. (Exodus 31:2-5; Proverb 22:29; 2 Timothy 1:6).
4. The gift of the Holy Spirit: Believers are specially gifted by the Holy Spirit to profit the body of Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:7;Acts 8: 18-20).
5. Prosperity and finances: Our finances, cars, houses and property did not come because of our wisdom and hard work but were entrusted to us by divine providence. (Deuteronomy 8: 18; Proverb 3:9-10; Proverbs 11:24-25)
6. Widespread influence: Joseph of Arimathea used his influence to secure the body of Christ for a proper burial. Our spread of influence. political, economic or globally is by God's grace and should be used to serve the purposes of God. (1 Corinthians 1: 26-29; Mark 15: 43: Esther 4: 14)

HOW TO MAXIMIZE DIVINE INVESTMENT IN YOUR LIFE
Maximizing investment refers to the to the strategic and efficient use of available gifts or resources to generate the highest possible return or benefit. The following are practical wayS to maximize divine investments in your life.
1. Be time conscious: Do not waste time with unnecessary procrastination. Do not allow the enemy make you feel there is time. Start immediately. (Ephesians 5: 15-16; Proverb 20: 4; John 9:4).
2. Identify your talents and gifts and use them to glorify God:: Identify and develop your gifts and then look for avenues to deploy them to serve God and humanity.(2 Timothy l:6; Romans 12:3-8).
3. Work Hard and be committed: Put your gift to use. Be diligent and shun laziness. Whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your heart and give it your best (1Corinthians 15: 58; Ecclesiastes 9:10; Proverbs 13:4).
4. Be consistent: Do not quit or be weary because of delayed gratification, lack of recognition or reward from men. (Galatians 6:9; Hebrew 10: 23: Proverb 4: 26-27: Colossians 1: 23).
5. Value your gifts: The value you place on yourself will tell how men will value you. Do not look down on what God has entrusted in your hand. (Matthew 25: 24-25; 1 Timothy 4:12).
6. Be diligent and strive for excellence: It is God's desire that you attain perfection. Anyone can be gifted, but it takes diligence and personal efforts to refine one's gifts and attain excellence. (Matthew 5: 48; Philippians 4:8; Daniel 6: 3: 2 Timothy 2: 15).
7. Seek mentorship and guidance: Mentors can guide you, provide feedbacks and objective appraisal of your journey of faith (Proverb 1:5; Titus 2:3-5; Proverb 13:20).

DANGERS OF NOT MAXIMIZING GOD'S INVESTMENT
1. Loss of value: The man with one talent thought that value is maintained by not using the talent. He didn't know that idleness depreciates value. Even the little he had was taken away from him (Matthew. 25: 27-29).
2. Eternal damnation: Failure to use your talents profitably will lead to eternal condemnation (Matthew 25:30).
3. Suffering: Many believers are suffering in life not because they are not gifted but they've failed to be profitable with their gifts (Proverb 22:29).
4. Loss of relevance: When you are not useful, the relevance of your talents diminish. Relevance increases with usefulness (Acts l: 20):
5. Diminishing impacts: Just like salt that loses taste is useless, so is a believer that is not serving the purpose of his/her gifting (Mathew 5: 13-16)
6. Waste of potentials: God abhors wastage. Not maximizing the gifts and opportunities from God will result in unfulfilled and wasted potential (Luke 13:6-9).

CONCLUSION
It is very important for believers to understand that their life and resource-material are not theirs. A typical model of this lifestyle was demonstrated in the early church where resources were jointly owned and needs were jointly met. God wants us to use everything he had provided us with to cater for the needs of
the kingdom and the less privileged. There are blessing and also dangers of not maximizing the divine investments in our lives.

PRAYER
Father, please help me to fully discover all that you have blessed me with. Give me the enablement to perfect my gifts and attain excellence and full potential. Give me the grace to deploy my talents, resources, skills, experience, wisdom, knowledge and everything I have received from you to the service of your kingdom and to profit humanity in general. In Jesus mighty name I have prayed. Amen

TEXT: MICAH 7:7-20

MEMORY VERSE: MICAH 7:8 "Rejoice not over me, O mine enemy; when I fall. I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me" (KJV).

INTRODUCTION
In the Bible passage above, Prophet Micah spoke on how Israel was brought low due to sin. When they sinned against God, the presence and power of God became very far from them. Then, the enemies laughed them to scorn because God became angry with them. Despite their humiliation, Prophet still cautioned that their surrounding enemies do not rejoice over them “because when I fall, I will arise and when I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me." This simply means that though the enemies may be laughing at our downfall, there is a message of hope that in a very short time, God will lift us up again. Brethren, we may fall again and again, trouble may come over and over, it may seem as if the struggle is perpetual, the good news is that God's plan and purpose is that we should rise.

STUDY OUTLINE
THE SAD CONDITION OF GOD'S PEOPLE
1. Cast into trouble: "When I fall." The strongest saint is liable to fall. But the fall shall not be fatal (Psalm 37:24).
2. Sitting in darkness. I sit in darkness." The darkness refers to famine, captivity, sickness, etc. ).
3. Mocked by the enemy: The enemy has advantage sometimes over God's people and treats them with insult and reproach (Psalm 22:13; Psalms 35:2 1 ).

THE SURE TRIUMPH OF GOD'S PEOPLE
1. Lifted from trouble: I shall rise." Trials have their limits and design. If we have the will to rise, God is ever ready to cause you to rise (Prov. 24:16; Luke 15:18-20).
2. Enlightened in darkness: "The Lord, a light unto me." There is great hope of light to shine upon God's people even amidst darkness (Isaiah 60: 19).
3. Restoration of lost privileges: God will declare the right Of His people, make their glory conspicuous, and restore them to former dignities. They shall he Publicly honorcd and greatly enriched with the covenant blessings (Isaiah 45:13; Micah 7:14-15).
4. Enemy's joy will be turned to shame: The enemy may have rejoiced in God's forgetfulness of his people, but soonest they will be disappointed. confounded, and covered with shame (Isaiah 60:14; Job 5:12).
5. Deliverance from the enemy will be complete: Judgment will be executed upon them. He will be treated as straw and trodden as mire in the streets (Isaiah 25: 10; Psalm 18:42).

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU ARE DOWN
1. Believe in the power of God: You must believe that God's power is mighty to save and restore lost glory (2 Chron. 20:20; Psalm 20:6).
2. Cease from speaking defeat over your life:All hope is not lost. The fact that you are down does not imply a defeat. Do not speak the language of defeat (Rev. 12:11).
3. Take on the language of victory: Don't talk about the way you are right now; rather talk about the way you want to be (Romans 4:17; 2 Kings 4:23-24).
4. Give God the right of way: There is correlation between what you say and what God does. What you say and believe is what God will do for you (Psalm 91:2-3; Job 22:28).
5. Praise God continually: Praise is powerful. When every other spiritual weapon fails, praise will never fail you. When you are down and all hope is lost, praise can lift (Acts 16:25-27; Psalm 67:5-6).

CONCLUSION
You as believer can mistakenly fall into sin, but you should never allow that be the end of your journey with God. There is a provision for our restoration because our advocate is in God's presence making intercession on our behalf. Similarly, a child can equally fail in any other aspect of human endeavor. Failure should not be seen as final verdict. What is expected of you is to rise from where you have fallen. and God will crown your effort with success. If there is life. there is hope. There is hope that you must risc again from despair, oppression, sickness, etc.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, help me to rise again from every area where I have fallen, grant me the grace to remain focused so that I will be yours forever in Jesus' name - Amen.
