Value plays a crucial role in how we navigate our lives.

📌 We are reminded of the kind of value we must have for God’s mission , we must embrace our roles as witnesses who have been empowered by the Holy Spirit.

📌 We must embrace a mindset of sacrificial generosity that flows from our understanding of Christ’s sacrifice for us. Knowing that Jesus became poor for our sake should encourage us to let go of worldly desires and view our resources as tools for God’s kingdom.

“We may know in part, but we must love in full. True maturity in God’s word is measured by love, not only knowledge.” 📌

We studied through 1 Corinthians 13:1–12 in our Bible Study tonight, and we learnt the following:

🌟 God’s word is not just to be spoken but must be expressed in love.

🌟Love remains greater. Spiritual gifts, deep revelation, and even powerful faith mean nothing without love.

🌟 Knowledge in this age is in part because it’s a part of the whole. We don’t see everything clearly yet.

🌟 What we call “all” now is still partial compared to the fullness to come.

🌟 Maturity in Christ means growing beyond pride in knowledge into love.

🌟 One day, we will see clearly and know fully, but love remains eternal.

📌 Nobody likes paying taxes.

📌 We all like to complain about what the government is doing and we say they are not doing anything with the taxes. We are right to demand accountability but nonetheless, we have to pay our taxes.

📌 Jesus showed us the example. He paid His taxes. He paid it to avoid unnecessary conflict and so as to not cause offence (Matthew 17:24-27). We as Christians also ought to pay our taxes

📌 So, give unto God what belongs to God (Leviticus 27:30). Pay your tithe. Also, give unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar (Matthew 22:21). Pay your taxes.

“Because the world system can be influenced by the enemy with his many wiles, we don’t chase signs. We learn to recognise God’s voice.” ✨

As sons and daughters of God, hearing Him is our inheritance!

In our Bible Study tonight, we rounded off the series on listening and hearing God on discerning the voice of God even in the midst of noise — “IN THE MIDST OF THE NOISE” 🤍

Important take home points include:

📌 Stillness is not just inactivity; it’s intentional listening and positioning yourself to receive God’s voice.

📌 Many of us approach prayer like a checklist: “God, answer me fast, fix my problems!”
We rush, and barely wait. But God’s communication often requires stillness and attentiveness.

📌 God is willing to lead us more than we’re willing to be led. God is speaking to us more than we make room to sit still and hear what He’s saying.

📌 It doesn’t matter what the Spirit told you. Because if it contradicts the Words of Jesus, then it’s not the Spirit of God. The voice of the Spirit shouldn’t be louder than Scriptures.

📌 God impresses our spirit — Impression; Our soul processes and discerns — Interpretation; Our body responds in obedience — Action

📌 God is speaking to you and you can be sure if: it aligns with Scripture, is consistent with His character, there’s a genuine motive regarding that thing, you feel His peace, there’s a lingering on your heart.

In this month’s edition on Family Forum, we discussed at length what family friendship really is.

Pastor Grace Oladimeji made it clear to us that God is a relational being, and we must be relational beings. Our families must never be void of friendships.

✨ The believer is on earth to serve God and others. Having this mindset means that we settle differences quickly within the family and keep love at the core of everything we do in there.

✨ The value of friendship within the family is that we can benefit off constructive criticism, get helpful advice and support and strengthen each other.

📌 You can learn from others, but you can only find joy in who God has created you to be.
