Title: Don't Be Ungrateful
Text: Luke 19:28-40
The Pharisees, who were supposed to be custodians of the Law of Moses and promoters of worship, failed in their role. Instead of leading others to honor JESUS as the prophesied Messiah (Zechariah 9:9), they stood back, despised the joyful praise of His disciples, and even tried to silence them. These ungrateful set of people separated themselves from the very assignment they were created for. Beloveth, never be ungrateful because:
1. GOD Has Reserved His Own People (Romans 11:4-5)
GOD has preserved for Himself people who will joyfully carry out His will without hesitation. They see it as a privilege to glorify Him.
2. GOD Has Provided for Himself (Luke 19:30-32)
GOD is self-sufficient. He owns everything and needs nothing from anyone. When JESUS needed a donkey, He had one prepared. When money was needed, He used a fish to provide it. GOD’s resources are unlimited, and He can accomplish His purposes with or without human assistance.
3. There Are Multitudes Ready to Praise Him (Luke 19:35-38)
If you withhold your praise, there are multitudes ready to glorify GOD. GOD always raises a people for Himself who recognize His mighty works and give Him the honor He deserves.
4. You Risk Being Replaced (Luke 19:39-40)
JESUS said, "If they keep quiet, the stones will cry out." This means that if you refuse to acknowledge GOD, He will raise others or even inanimate objects to do so. When Saul failed in his assignment, he was replaced by David a man after GOD’s heart. Ungratefulness can lead to loss of relevance.
Conclusion
Gratitude is not optional; it is a command. If you refuse to praise and honor GOD, He will raise others in your place, even stones if necessary. Don't let pride, ingratitude, or a sense of self-importance rob you of your place in GOD's plan. Choose to praise GOD always, for He deserves it and can never be left without a witness. Will you be among those who glorify Him, or will you be replaced? The choice is yours.
Shalom!
