Holy Spirit Novena — Day Seven

Theme: The Gift of Counsel

Opening Prayer

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in them the fire of Your love. Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the earth.

O God, who instructed the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer

The Gift of Counsel

Holy Spirit, Spirit of Truth and Guidance, I come before You today asking for the Gift of Counsel.

Direct my thoughts, words, and actions according to the will of God. In moments of uncertainty, teach me the right path to follow and help me make decisions that bring glory to God.

When I am faced with temptation, confusion, or fear, guide me with Your divine wisdom. Help me to recognize what is right and give me the courage to choose the path of righteousness.

Holy Spirit, teach me to seek Your direction before making decisions. Help me to listen carefully to Your gentle voice and to trust Your leading even when the way seems difficult.

Grant me the wisdom to counsel others with love, patience, and truth. May my words bring encouragement, peace, and hope to those who are troubled.

Lead me always in the ways of holiness and keep me faithful to God’s purpose for my life.

Amen.

Reflection

The Gift of Counsel enables us to make wise and godly decisions according to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Through this gift, the Holy Spirit directs us in the path of truth and helps us avoid choices that lead us away from God.

Life often presents difficult decisions, unexpected challenges, and moments of uncertainty. At such times, human wisdom alone is not enough. The Holy Spirit gently guides the faithful heart and reveals the way that leads to peace, righteousness, and spiritual growth.

Counsel also helps us become instruments of God’s wisdom to others. A person filled with this gift can encourage, advise, and support others with compassion and truth inspired by the Holy Spirit.

When we rely on the Gift of Counsel, we learn to trust God more deeply instead of depending only on our own understanding. The Holy Spirit becomes our guide, leading us safely through every season of life.

Today, ask the Holy Spirit to guide your decisions, strengthen your discernment, and help you walk faithfully in the will of God.

Closing Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit, guide my heart and direct my steps in the ways of truth and righteousness. Grant me the wisdom to follow God’s will and the courage to obey Your guidance each day.
