In preparation for Pentecost Sunday, during our midweek service on Wednesday, we learnt about the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is beyond emotional display; He is the Spirit of truth and power. God desires people who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. The move of the Holy Spirit is not measured by outward activities or emotional reactions, and it is not a standard that someone must fall to the ground before speaking in tongues.

One major pattern of the Holy Spirit is communication.
The Holy Spirit gives utterance and helps believers speak as He wills. The disciples tarried patiently until Pentecost before they received utterance to speak.

📖 Matthew 7:7
“Ask and it shall be given unto you; seek and you shall find; knock and the door shall be opened unto you.”

Without the Holy Spirit, there can be no power, for when the Holy Ghost comes upon you, “you shall receive power.” No believer can truly advance into the next phase without the help of the Holy Spirit.

📖 2 Corinthians 13:14
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”

The Holy Spirit longs to commune more with His people.

Love is the very foundation of the gospel Christ taught us. We are called not only to love those around us, but even our enemies, showing the same love Christ first showed to us. True love is patient, selfless, enduring, and willing to sacrifice for others. In a world where many hearts grow cold because of iniquity, God still commands us to love one another and allow Him to work out His purpose in our lives.

Happy Sunday 😊

A believer who is spiritually sensitive does not live by what is seen, but by what is revealed.

We have an environment that is beyond the physical realm, and it takes spiritual insight to appreciate it.

In our midweek service today, we were taught on the topic SPIRITUAL SENSITIVITY by our chaplain, Very Rev Dr C.U Ndukwe, and we referenced the Scripture:

Psalm 34:7- The Angel of the Lord surrounds those that fear him

When we are spiritually sensitive, we understand that God has put in place forces that will guide and guard us; therefore, we act from a place of confidence.

This is seen in 2 Kings 6:16–17, where Elisha declared: “Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”

It is also reflected in Acts 27:23–25, where Paul said: “For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar… Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.”

When you are spiritually sensitive, you stand from a place of confidence and assurance based on what God has spoken.

We had an engaging and interactive session during our midweek service as we looked at the topic: “The Sower’s Technique in Soul Winning” (Matthew 13:1–9).

From the text, we saw that one key technique of the sower is scattering the seed everywhere (Acts 8:4). We were encouraged not to adopt the mindset that we are wasting seeds as we spread the Word widely. Our responsibility is to sow, regardless of where the seed falls.

From the outcome of the seeds sown in Matthew 13, we understand that the problem is not with the seed. The seed represents the Word of God, and there is nothing wrong with it. What determines its growth is the condition of the ground where it lands.

We were also reminded that the Great Commission is practical, not theoretical. it calls for intentional action.

Our encouragement comes from (Isaiah 55:11), which assures us that the Word of God never goes out in vain but accomplishes its purpose.
So let us remain faithful in sowing, confident that every seed planted has the potential to bring forth a harvest in due season.
