THE TRIUMPHANT ENTRY OF JESUS CHRIST

Texts: Matthew 21:1-11, Mark 11:1-11, Luke 19:28-40 and John 12:12-19.

Commentary:
The first part of the story deals with Jesus' obtaining a c**t on which to ride into the city. Since Jesus and his disciples would be returning to the Roman road from Bethany. The village where the c**t is tied is probably Bethpage.

Triumphal Entry is considered a symbol of Jesus' Messiahship and Kingship.

According to the above mentioned Bible passages we could deduce that when Jesus was due to visit Jerusalem, a village called Bethany it was assigned that He must have to go as a King, a notable man in the society.

Though this event had been prophesied by Prophet Zechariah hundreds of years earlier (Zechariah 9:9)

Jesus instructed His disciples to go down to a village called Bethpage and they, they will see a young c**t tied, they should untie it and bring it to Him. His disciples did as instructed and when they finally brought the c**t to Jesus, people have to decorate the young c**t and let Jesus climb upon it and rides to Jerusalem where He wanted to present Himself as a King and the Messiah He is.

As we celebrate today's "PALM 🌴 SUNDAY" we should have in mind that we are celebrating our Lord's Kingship and Messiahship. It was not for formalities but it was to fulfill the prophecy of Prophet Isaiah.

On still observing the LENT SEASON, and as we will be entering HOLY WEEK by tomorrow, we should be mindful of our characters and approaches towards people around us.

When Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem, the Pharisees, I call them "The sudicies" which means, the "Sad you See" because this people were bittered and were not comfortable the way people were exactly and Praising God, they went to Jesus and asked Him to rebuke His disciples to keep silent, but Jesus replied to them, saying "Even if these people should harken and keep silent, God will raise stones to Praise Him".

Have you denounced your place in God's agenda, don't allow anything take your place of worship.

Let me summarize with this story, a certain hunter decided to go for hunting one Sunday afternoon, as he got into the bush, shockingly to him, he saw a group of animals, praising the Lord, he had no other choice than to totally surrender his life to God.

May the Lord bless His Word, Amen
