TRANSFORMED

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” —Romans 12:2

God is in the life changing business. He wants to transform each one of us into being more Christ-like in all areas of our life.

The first step occurs when we place our faith and trust in Christ alone to be our personal Lord and Savior. Many other religions require people to reach out to God through works of self-effort, trusting in themselves. As Christians, we trust in the person of Jesus Christ alone to save us and bring us into a right relationship with God our Father. Only the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.

A transformed life occurs only when we allow Christ to live through us. We do not have the power to live a changed life. This new life begins with the renewing of our mind. Second Corinthians 4:16 tells us, “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” This happens when we focus on Jesus Christ and God’s Word. It is accomplished through the work of the Holy Spirit.

Our attitudes change. Our world view changes. We begin to realize we need to think in terms of exchanging the perishable values of this world for the imperishable values of the kingdom in the world to come. Through this process we become more attuned to the perfect will of God.

Consideration:

In what ways do I see evidence of my life being transformed into the likeness of Christ?

PALACE GUIDE

23RD AUGUST, 2026

BE A "GIVER", NOT A "GETTER"

“Each one of you should give just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, because God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace overflow to you so that because you have enough of everything in every way at all times, you will overflow in every good work.” —2 Corinthians 9:7–8

The Christian life is a giving life. This is the direct opposite of what the world tells us we need in order to be happy. Most of the messages of the world are directed at self-consuming activities, saying you need to have certain possessions and experiences in order to be fulfilled. These messages emphasize being a “getter” rather than a “giver.”

When we speak of giving, we are not talking about just money. Remember, we have three Ts: time, talent, and treasure. Time and talent are just as important as any treasure we might have. When we give, we place ourselves in a position where God can abundantly bless in ways beyond what we could ever think or imagine.

Jesus said, “Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal” (John 6:27, ESV). When we give our time, talent, and treasure, we are converting the perishable into the imperishable things of God that will echo into eternity.

Instead of “getting” in this world, we must focus on “giving” to those endeavors that will echo into eternity.

Consideration:

In what ways am I giving my time, talent, and treasure to the eternal things of God?
