ECWA pastor, wife and children killed by bandits yesterday.

Gunmen yesterday 26th of April,stormed ECWA church Gako in Rim, Riyom Local Government area of Plateau state killing the Pastor, Rev'd Ayuba Choji, his wife and his two children.

They went away with his motorcycle.

*ECWA E-Sports Connect Unit Dedicates Gym Equipment for Staff Use at Headquarters**

It was a joyous moment today at the ECWA Headquarters as the E-Sports Connect Unit dedicated gym equipment for staff use.

Responding to the development, the E-Sports Connect Coordinator, Pastor Habakkuk Walshak, stated that the idea of acquiring the gym equipment came in 2025 due to the lack of exercise among ECWA Headquarters staff. Describing it as a dream come true, he thanked the Almighty God for making the day historic, noting that the facility would be used to the glory of God.

Also speaking on behalf of the department, the Director of Administration, Rev. Dr. Samuel Kadah, appreciated the ECWA Executive (EE) for approving the purchase of the equipment and for showing love to all staff members despite financial constraints.

The ECWA Assistant General Secretary (AGS), Rev. Dr. Sunday Congo, advised staff members to ensure orderliness while using the facilities.

Thereafter, the ECWA Vice President, Rev. Dr. Sunday Ajise, dedicated the equipments to the glory of God.

ECWA Honours DCCs for Faithful Financial Remittances at 2026 GCC

The spotlight fell on several District Church Councils (DCCs) at the ongoing General Church Council (GCC) meeting of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) as they received Excellence Awards for their faithful financial remittances in the year under review.

The awards were presented by ECWA President, Rev. Dr. Ayuba Job Bagat Mallam, during the gathering in Jos.

Beneficiaries of the honour include Garki DCC, Kaduna East DCC, Fatan-Tanke DCC, Karu DCC, Tangale DCC, Gombe West DCC, Pyakasa DCC, Ungwan Takwa DCC, Uke DCC, Kwassam DCC, and Zaria DCC.

In a remark, thè Director of Audit, Dr. Ibrahim Maren Makut, stressed that, the recognition underscores the church’s commitment to financial accountability and celebrates the dedication of DCCs that have been faithful in financial obligations.
He applauded various DCCs who have since keyed into the financial prudence policy of ECWA, and has been doing very excellently well. He encouraged other DCCs to keep the good work they are doing.

ECWA Trustees Lodge Commissioned at 2026 General Church Council

Celebrations continued today as the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) marked another milestone with the commissioning and dedication of the new ECWA Trustees Lodge, to the glory of God.

The edifice was commissioned by the ECWA President, Rev. Dr. Job Ayuba Bagat, during the ongoing 73rd ECWA General Church Council (GCC) meeting holding at the ECWA Headquarters in Jos, Plateau State capital. All members of the General Church Council were in attendance.

Speaking at the event, Rev. Dr. Bagat stated that the lodge was conceived by faith and executed by faith. He expressed gratitude to the past leaders who initiated the project and all District Church Councils (DCCs) for contributing their 15% remittance, which made the project a reality.

Prior to the commissioning, brief presentations were made by Trustee Prof. Basil Nwosu, Architect Elder Iro Yusuf, and Engineer Mr. Stephen G. Paul.
Responding on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Basil Nwosu, Trustee zone 9, thanked the church’s leadership for considering to build such a beautiful remarkable and state of the art edifice for the Trustees. He further assured that the Board of Trustees will continue to support the ECWA Executive and the General Church Council for the continued growth of ECWA.

ECWA Elects General Secretary and Vice President at 73rd General Council Meeting

The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) during the ongoing General Church Council has successfully conducted elections for the offices of General Secretary and Vice President, held at the ECWA International Conference Center in Jos, Plateau State.
Rev. Dr. Ayuba Asheshe was re-elected the ECWA General Secretary, while, Rev. Chidi Joseph Nmadubuko was elected ECWA Vice President and Rev. Dr. Ezekiel Babatunde Omidiji was elected as the new Trustee representing Zone 9
The Council, which brings together church leaders, delegates, and representatives from all ECWA districts and zones across Nigeria and beyond, serves as the highest decision-making body of the denomination. This year’s gathering, which began with opening prayers and a review of the church’s mission progress, featured elections as a key item on the agenda.

General Secretary Re-elected for Second Term

In a vote of confidence in his leadership, Rev. Dr. Ayuba Asheshe was re-elected as ECWA General Secretary for a second term.
His re-election reflects the Council’s approval of his stewardship during his first tenure, during which he oversaw administrative reforms and expanded outreach initiatives. Dr. Asheshe will continue to serve as the chief administrative officer of the church.

New Vice President Emerges

The race for the Vice President position was conducted in a peaceful and orderly environment. Rev. Chidi Joseph Nmadubuko emerged victorious after securing 220 votes.
Rev. Nmadubuko brings a wealth of pastoral and leadership experience to the role, and will work closely with the ECWA President in providing strategic direction for the church.

Trustee Election for Zone 9

In another development, Rev. Dr. Ezekiel Babatunde Omidiji was returned elected as Trustee for Zone 9. His re-election ensures continuity in the management of ECWA’s trust properties and legal matters within the zone.

Prayer and Dedication

The atmosphere at the Conference Center was one of solemnity and gratitude. Delegates offered prayers for the newly elected officers, asking for divine wisdom, strength, and unity as they lead ECWA in the coming years.

We pray that God grants the General Secretary and the new Vice President wisdom to lead ECWA for His glory. Amen.
