Imagine a home, steadfast amidst the tempests, rooted on an unyielding rock. This is the portrait of a life anchored in the teachings of Jesus. He imparts a profound truth: those who heed His words are akin to a wise builder, whose house, set upon the rock, endures. In contrast, many construct their marital abode on shifting sands, believing human love, in its raw form, is sufficient to sustain them. They exchange vows, pledging eternal devotion, yet these are often frail, like a structure on the sand.
Humanity is fickle, our promises as mutable as the dunes. Despite our earnestness, we are but flawed beings, our constancy wavering. Human love, marred by self-interest, is not eternal. When our desires go unmet, we wander, seeking others to fulfill what was lacking. Soon, we forsake old vows for new, if only to satisfy our yearnings.
Behold the crumbling house. Yet, there is hope, for Jesus' words are unassailable, enduring through the ages. His promises are a firm foundation.
