🌿 PARISH NEWS | 24TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME β€” YEAR A

Today, St Cecilia Catholic Church, Imedu-Nla, gathered in faith and thanksgiving as Fr Achulike Osuji, CSSP, delivered a homily centred on forgiveness, mercy and Christian unity.

Drawing from Sirach 27:30–28:7, Psalm 103, Romans 14:1–9 and Matthew 18:21–35, the homily reminded us that, as God forgives us, we are called to forgive others, avoid judgement and let go of bitterness.

🌾 HARVEST THEME SELECTION: The selection process was anchored today, and the results will be announced next Sunday.

πŸ‘Ά BABY DEDICATION: The parish rejoiced with Mr and Mrs Alexander as they dedicated their baby girl, Ann, joining the family in thanksgiving for the gift of a new soul.

May God continue to bless our parish family with mercy, unity and love. πŸ™

🌿 23RD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME | CARE FOR CREATION πŸŒπŸ™

Today, our parish community celebrated the 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A, with a special focus on the Care of Creation.

Holy Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Williams, who spoke elaborately on the theme and reminded us that God’s creation is a precious gift entrusted to our care.

He urged us to live in peace and harmony with one another, showing love, respect and understanding in our homes, communities and society.

He also encouraged us to take good care of God’s creatures and our environment, reminding us that we are not owners of creation but stewards entrusted with the responsibility of protecting and preserving it for present and future generations.

🌱 Let us care for creation.
🀝 Let us live in peace with one another.
❀️ Let us cherish all that God has entrusted to us.

May God give us the wisdom and grace to be faithful stewards of His beautiful creation. Amen. πŸ™

22ND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME β€” YEAR A

πŸ“– Jeremiah 20:7–9 | Romans 12:1–2 | Matthew 16:21–27

Yesterday, we were reminded that following Christ requires self-denial, sacrifice, and a willingness to take up our cross daily. Like Jeremiah, we may face challenges in fulfilling God’s call, but His Word burns within us and gives us the strength to persevere. St. Paul encourages us to offer our lives to God and allow Him to transform us, while Jesus reminds us that true discipleship means putting God’s will above our own.

It was also a joyful celebration as two families dedicated their babies to God. In thanksgiving, the families and parishioners joyfully danced to the altar, giving thanks to God for the precious gift of new life. πŸ™πŸ‘ΆπŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί

May we continue to follow Christ faithfully, carrying our crosses with love and trusting in His grace.

21ST SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME – YEAR A ✝️

TheGospel reminded us that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. He calls us, like Peter, to have firm faith in Him and to faithfully serve His Church.

Lord, strengthen our faith and make us faithful instruments of Your Kingdom. Amen. πŸ™
