TOPIC:You Have Every Reason to Be Happy
TEXT: Psalm 118:24 (NLT)

“This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”

MESSAGE 📖

It is one thing to know God’s Word, and it is another thing to apply God’s Word to our lives on a daily basis. As much as you have what it takes, through God, to make your day and life successful, stress-free, happy, and joyful, if you do not know how to apply His Word, you may still face challenges that befall those who do not know what they have in God, and you may begin to wonder why such things are happening to you.

As children of God, the enèmy will try every possible means to prevent us from enjoying what God has in store for us. But it is our responsibility to stand against him and say, “No!”

The Bible says:

“So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”— James 4:7 (NLT)

How do we resist the dev!l? We resist him by applying the Word of God that we know. Our Master and Saviour, Jesus Christ, overcame the dev!l by declaring, “It is written.” Therefore, we too must overcome by standing firmly on the Word of God.

The enèmy does not want to see us happy, joyful, and victorious, but it is our responsibility to remind him that he has no authority over what God has blessed. Therefore, declare over your day:

“This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Declare it over your family: My family shall be happy and blessed.

Declare it over your business: My business shall prosper.

Declare it over your academics: I shall excel, for my Father is the One who gives wisdom and understanding.

Learn to declare God's Word over your day before you begin it. Speak life, speak faith, and stand firmly on God's promises.

May God help us to apply His Word daily and live in the joy and victory He has given us.

PRAYER :

Dear Father, thank You for the gift of another day. I come against every plan of the wicked, whether written or spoken, intended to make this day sorrowful for me, my family, friends, and loved ones.

I declare that every evil plan will not stand, neither shall it come to pass. Let Your joy, peace, protection, favour, and blessings be upon us throughout this day.

This is the day You have made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

In Jesus' mighty name, Amen. 🙏

TOPIC: WHAT ARE YOU REQUESTING FROM GOD?
TEXT: PROVERBS 30:7–9(NIV)

7 “Two things I ask of you, LORD; do not refuse me before I d!e:

8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread.

9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the LORD?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonour the name of my God.”

We are living in a world that seems as though the way out of certain situations is through lies. At the workplace, we lie to our bosses when we cannot make it to work on time or when we cannot come to work at all. In school, we lie; in our associations, we lie. Most of the time, people tend to believe the lies that are told rather than the truth itself. But does that mean that truth is no longer worth living for? No!

In today's Bible reading, we see how someone prayed to God and made two specific requests.
1. “Keep falsehood and lies far from me.”

At first glance, this may not seem like a prayer request. We may ask, “How can someone pray for such a thing?” But in reality, it is the right thing to ask for.
Anyone who wants God to use them must distance themselves from falsehood and lies. We must stay far away from them, just as the north is far from the south. Falsehood and lies do not originate from God; therefore, they should not be found among God's people.

The Bible says:
“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.”
Proverbs 14:34 (NIV)

As children of God, we must choose truth, righteousness, and integrity, even when lying appears to be the easier way out.

2. “Give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread.”

He did not ask God to make him the richest man in the world so that everyone would recognize him whenever he appeared. Neither did he ask to become poor.
Instead, he asked God for his daily bread—enough to sustain him and keep him dependent on God.

In the following verse, he explained why:
“Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the LORD?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonour the name of my God.”
Proverbs 30:9 (NIV)

He understood that having too much could make him forget God, while extreme poverty could tempt him to steal and bring dishonour to God's name.
His desire was to remain under God's love, provision, and care. He wanted neither excess that would make him forget God nor lack that would make him turn away from God's ways.

WHAT ARE YOU ASKING FROM GOD?

Our requests can reveal the condition of our hearts and what we truly value.
When you pray, what are you asking God for? Is it only wealth, success, recognition, or material possessions? Or are you also asking Him for wisdom, righteousness, contentment, integrity, and the grace to remain faithful to Him?
May our requests be aligned with God's will and purpose for our lives.

PRAYER:
Father, thank You for today. I ask that You help me to align my requests with Your plans and purpose for my life. Give me the grace to seek what pleases You and to remain faithful to You in every circumstance. In Jesus' name, Amen.

FAITH OVER FEAR

It is the beginning of a new day, week and even your new beginning, don't allow anything to distract you from achieving your God given goals this week.

The dev!l will come in different ways but remember his goal is to

1. Steal: steal your joy
2. K!ll: k!ll your faith
3. Destroy: Destroy your plans.

The thief comes only to steal and k!ll and destroy;
John 10:10a.

Have a blessed week

*PLEASE DON'T TURN INTO A RAG!*

Since around 2am today, I have been up and about, preparing for our visit to the orphanage to mark My-own-Mercy's birthday, today.

She had worked into the midnight, making soap, and she needed some good sleep. When she went eventually to bed, I chose to continue from where she had stopped. In the process, I messed up the floor and had to use some rags to clean it up.

Meanwhile, she had soaked another rag, and I had washed it along with the ones I used. When she woke up, she immediately asked about the soaked rag, wondering whether I had mistakenly washed it together with our clothes. Until I assured her otherwise, she remained concerned.

Later, as I went out to spread the rags, five of them altogether, I noticed that even I handled them differently. I spread them out carelessly because, to me, they were merely rags. Immediately, something dropped into my heart:

"Please don't become a rag, especially in the hands of God." I looked closely at the rags.

One of them was once my (white) singlet. Another had once been a treasured bathroom towel for the two of us. Yet another was a gifted polo shirt that we both cherished, while the last was a shirt that had been brought to me from abroad.

At one time, these things were valuable. They were carefully washed, neatly folded, and properly stored. Today, they are no longer considered fit to be worn on the body. Their usefulness has diminished, and they are now fit only for the floor.

Then it dawned on me how sin can reduce a man to a rag. I thought about how pride, compromise, carelessness, disobedience, and a life devoid of purpose can gradually strip a person of honour, usefulness, relevance, and dignity. I became afraid.

How does a vessel of honour become an object of dishonour? How does someone who once carried great promise become something pushed aside and forgotten? My prayer this morning is simple:

"LORD, please help me. May I never lose my purpose. May I never lose my place in Your plan. May I never become a rag in the hands of life."

The tragedy is not merely to fall; it is to become so damaged that one who was meant for the palace becomes fit only for the dust. God, please help me.

_"But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honour and some for dishonour." — 2 Timothy 2:20 (NKJV)_

*May the LORD preserve us all.*
