Her Excellency Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago, the First Lady of Niger State, has participated in the National First Ladiesโ Summit convened by the Honourable Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, CON, aimed at strengthening Nigeriaโs coordinated efforts toward the elimination of Hepatitis B and C.
In a Press Release by the Chief Press Secretary to the Wife of the Governor of Niger State, Hadiza Abdullahi Maikano, it was stated that the summit, which took place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, brought together First Ladies from across the federation to deepen advocacy, foster strategic partnerships, and renew national commitment to ending the burden of viral hepatitis through enhanced public health interventions and community engagement.
Hajiya Fatima Bago in her capacity as the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), reiterated Niger Stateโs unwavering dedication to promoting preventive healthcare, expanding access to treatment, and intensifying public awareness campaigns in line with the health priorities of the Farmer Governor, His Excellency Mohammed Umaru Bago.
She further expressed optimism that the resolutions reached at the summit would translate into impactful actions capable of significantly reducing the prevalence of Hepatitis B and C in Nigeria while improving the overall wellbeing of citizens.
In attendance were the Permanent Secretary and other key officials of the Niger State Ministry of Health.
