AWAKE, O SLEEPERS!

Read: 1 Thessalonians 5:1-24

MEMORISE:

EXPOSITION
It is becoming more evident in our time that the kingdom of darkness is fighting tooth and nail to hijack the affairs of man by force. Leaked audios and videos of secret conversations/convocations of high ranking satanic agents that went viral during past global predicaments bear testimonial volumes. The various conspiracies, subtle and sinister attempts of depopulation, pandemic, economic sabotage, high level corruption and blood shed prevalent in almost all crimes are more than complementary justification for this. But, are these horrible worrying indicators not pointing to the end of the age, telling us that something is seriously amiss spiritually?

A Christian sister said she recently saw an angel of the Lord, with a long multi-layered whip, approaching intimidatingly from the North Pole toward the South. This may mean God's own way of waking up His sleeping people as He had purposed and earlier promised. Unstable economy, bad government, unemployment, syncretism, explosion of occult practices, needless killings, and bloodsheds, travesty of justice, persistent persecution of the Church, general insecurity and faithlessness in God are all suggestive.

We may be able to reduce these plagues by heeding the great Apostles counsel to the Thessalonians, unceasing prayers and rekindling the fire of the spirit. Just as well as staying away from all appearances of evil. May the God of peace, Himself, truly preserve us to the end-spirit, soul and body, in Jesus name. Wake up from your sleep, brother/sister in the Lord! Behold, the Bridegroom has come! Come, Lord Jesus. Amen.

PRAYER POINTS
1. O you seed of sin, be gone from me, henceforth, in the name of Jesus.
2. Holy Spirit, rekindle the fire of spiritual sensitivity in me, in the name of Jesus.

*TURNING A BITTEREST ENEMY INTO A CLOSEST FRIEND.*

*Read John 13:21-30*

*MEMORISE: For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus had said to him, "Buy those things we need for the feast," or that he should give something to the poor (John 13:29).*

*EXPOSITION*
Jesus was not only FULLY man; He was also FULLY God. As God, didn't He know that Judas would betray Him? Yes, He did. After all, He is Omniscient. Then, why did He choose him as one of His Apostles, and Judas of all people, a man described as "a thief" *(Jn. 12:6)*, but was still appointed the treasurer of 'The College of the Apostles'?

When Abraham Lincoln was compaigning for the presidency of the United States of America, he had an opponent who hated him so much and personally insulted him many times, calling him derogatory names. One of such names was 'baboon.' Can you just imagine the level of debasement the enmity had degenerated for the opponent to have referred to Lincoln as a baboon? The ma said to Lincoln, "if you are looking for baboon, don't go to the Zoos, just go to the white house". However, most surprising is the fact that when Abraham Lincoln eventually became President, he chose this opponent as his defence secretary! People condemned him for that and thought he must have been stupid, yet he wouldn't change his mind. When he was assassinated in 1865, at his burial, this former enemy of his wept aloud and said, "This was a man who knew how to turn the bitterest enemy into a close friend!".

Judas also, who was known by Jesus from his beginning to his end, and was given the opportunity to purge himself of the inner enmity, and embrace Jesus' hands of friendship, felt remorse and spoke after Jesus was condemned to death (Matt. 27:3-5), although his sorrow was not a godly one that brings the kind of repentance that leads to salva

*THE SECURE CITY.*

*Read Psalms 91:1-15*

*MEMORISE: He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalms 91:1)*

*EXPOSITION*
In time of war and insecurity, there is always a place that is termed 'saved', a place of refuge. A fortified place. A place where people run to, for security and safety. In the ancient times, some places are so secure that enemies can't pe*****te. Whoever that can make it to such places is sure of life.

Today, there is no difference, only that the secure place is not a particular place but everywhere we can be in Christ. The emphasis is not in a place but in the PERSON of Jesus Christ. Our security is in the name of God. Call Him when you feel insecured, threatened, afraid and uncertain about life. He is very close to answer you. It is the strong tower than no armoury can pull down. Mount Zion is called the city of David, the city of great king *(Ps. 48:2; 2 Samuel 5:7; 2 Chr. 5:2)*. It is a city located on the hill and considered unconquerable. The Isrealites misbehaved and for a while, that place became a by word and a missing. Therefore, the focus is not on your position in JESUS CHRIST.

No matter how powerful the satanic arsenals might be, they can't pe*****te the secure city. Whatever the cooperation is against you, they can't succeed.

It is comforting to know that God watches over us even in times of great stress and fear. Come to Him, you will be perfectly secured. He is the secure city you should desire. Call upon His name, He will answer you in the day of trouble and the name of God of Jacob will defend you. " Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place. No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near to dwelling" PS. 91:9-10.
