*_TA’ZWEEMUR-RASOOL WAS TODAY’s JUMU’AT KHUTBAH (SERMON) REPORT OF MADEENATUL IHYAID-DEENIL ISLAM KPAKUNGU MINNA, NIGER STATE._
Giving due honor to the most honorable of creation is the foundation of our faith, says the Chief Imam Of Madeenatul Ihyaud-deenil Islam Kpakungu B Minna, who also doubles as the Niger State Ameerul Mu'mineen.
At today’s Jumu’at gathering, Sheikh Suleiman Yinti delivered a heartfelt reminder to all Muslim brethren to uphold the sanctity, respect, and reverence due to our Master, Muhammad Rasoolallah ﷺ. This came after beautiful praises, testimonies and abundant salutations upon the Prophet ﷺ by the Khatib.
The Imam emphasized that honoring the Prophet ﷺ is not optional but a sign of complete Iman, as the Prophet ﷺ said: ‘None of you truly believes until I am more beloved to him than his child, his father and all of mankind.’ [Al-Bukhari, no.15; Muslim, no.44]
He added: To honor him ﷺ is to love him, to defend his honor, to follow his Sunnah, and to pattern our lives after his noble character. Allah Himself commands us in the Qur’an: _“Say: If you love Allah, then follow me.”_ [3:31]
And again: _“Indeed in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example.”_ [33:21]
Another noble hadith reminds us: _‘Whoever loves my Sunnah has loved me, and whoever loves me will be with me in Jannah.’_
The Sheikh explained that this honor is shown in three ways:
1. *In the heart* – by loving him ﷺ above all else
2. *On the tongue* – by sending abundant Salawat and speaking of him with the highest respect
3. *In action* – by emulating his character, obeying his commands, and staying away from what he forbade
Strengthening his first sermon, the Imam recited several verses and Ahadeeth of Rasulullah ﷺ, and concluded with the beautiful line of the poets:
*"WA KULLU DIYATIN DOONAHU FAHIYA DUMMATUN"*
_“And every claim of love besides following him is a false claim.”_
In closing, Maulana prayed that Allah grants the Ummah the true love of the Prophet ﷺ, and that the blessings of this Rabi’ul Awwal bring unity, peace, and uprightness to Niger State, Nigeria, and to the entire Ummah. Ameen.
The Imam in his second sermon reminded the congregation that the Prophet ﷺ holds a unique station. He is the best of creation, the Seal of Prophethood, and the link between the servant and his Lord. Yet we must keep the balance: He ﷺ is the most perfect human, but he is not divine. He conveys from Allah, but he is not Allah. He deserves our utmost love, respect, and obedience, but worship belongs to Allah alone.
Sheikh then recited:
_“Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who believe! Send blessings upon him and greet him with a worthy salutation.”_ [33:56]
And he reminded with:
_“Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded.”_ [16:90]
We beseech Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala to preserve our Sheikh upon obedience, to increase him in knowledge and wisdom, and to make him a continuous source of benefit for Islam and humanity. Ameen 🤲
