WHY WE PRAY AND FAST IN HOUSE OF PRAISE CHOIR.
Someone might ask or even imagine why do we always emphasize on prayer and fasting, is it just fasting for fasting sake, are we not just ministering for about 5-7 minute max every Sunday, why pray so much.
Dr Myles Munroe once said “hours with God makes minutes with men effective"
John Wesley also said “God does nothing but in prayer”.
Apostle Joshua Selma said “because you ‘re ministering right doesn’t mean you’re ministering life” your skill is enough to make good sound via music (even the children of Israel did that Amos 5:23) but your skill is not enough to infuse divine life into people.
There is a saying that the success of Great Men is in their story, so go through history and check about men who commanded exploit in ministration if he/she was not a prayer/fasting addict.
Have you ever wondered why Jesus “the son of God”, “The all-powerful”, still went to pray and fast for 40 days and night...
Daniel prayed and to reveal kingdom secrets, what about David, praying and you wondered why he could play a Harp and Saul was relieved of all oppression instantly. There is always a prize to pay.
A babalawo know all incantation off hand yet a Christian don’t know scriptures, muslims chant for hours and you think if they don’t see result they will do it.
See, you can only impress people by how you sing but can bless people by who sings through you
Matt 10:20-For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
Any chorister that does not understand the mystery of prayer in ministration will only sing empty yet melodious.
A minister of God is like a radio box, a radio box will only make a noise when not properly tuned so also when a minister is not properly connected to God via prayer he/she will only make a noise in God’s ear.
Amos 5:23 - Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.
Have you ever desired more, do you desire not just to sing and people shout, get impressed only, don’t you crave for miracles, signs and wonders via our ministration...
Well that can only happen when you connect to God by prayer as He sings through you.
See, because you are singing right doesn’t mean you are singing life, life comes through God when you make yourself available for Him to use via prayer.
Life only comes when you make yourself a channel for the transference of life that makes alive every deadened situation in the lives of the people you are ministering to.
You need God In your ministration as He is the one that commands life.
The word “Minister” means servant gotten from the word serve, everyone serves for a purpose, so therefore if one doesn’t know the purposes of God, one can’t be a successful minister...
However I can tell you that God’s purposes is revealed through His word, by prayer and fasting.
When you pray God takes over, when you fast you move Him(God) to do more.
I have seen Sinach sings and a lame Man starts to walk, Dr Eneche sings and there is such a move of the Spirit, Apostle Selma sings and it brings down the presence of God all this for a prize.
Apostle Selma once said “A true worshipper is one that understand the dynamics of hosting God”.
See, God is restricted in using you to some dimension if you are not prepared (Word study, Prayer, Fasting and rehearsals) just as when the president of nation is coming to a place there is preparation to host his coming how much more God.
When you impress people it won’t last but when people are blessed through you they will never forget you.
Everything that man does without God is fake so also the purpose of your singing without God is a fake.
Am trying to make you and me see what can make us operate in the supernatural via our singing.
See! everything that happens in the physical realm has been activated in the spiritual realm both Good and bad, nothing just happens.
Nothing moves until a force is applied to it, so also we can’t operate well in the physical realm if we are not connected to the spiritual forces of light because the spiritual realm controls the physical realm when activated by the physical realm and that is via prayer.
A song minister’s job is not really different from a preacher’s job only that we speak words via sounds in melodious songs, let this get into our conscious and unconscious mind...
So for us to experience the level of exploit they experience, then we do what they do (Study, pray, fast and practice).
