Topic: Prophecy, the Heartbeat of Christian Faith.

Text: Isa 46: 9-10; Jos 23:14; Lk 21: 23.

This message is specifically for the Children of God.

Prophecy refer to the pronouncement of an action before it come to be.

Better stated, prophecy is a pronouncement of divine action (God) before it physically manifest.

The major way God relate with his people is through prophecy.

God speak by prophecy because he knows the end from the begining (Rom 4:17).

Some times, it take faith in the recipient for prophecy to get fulfilment (Heb 4:2).

At other times, prophecy get fulfilled whether or not it is received with faith (II Kings 7:1).

If prophecy is not received with faith, it will not benefit the recipient or it benefit but a little.

The Bible is a compendium of prophecies.
-God himself is a Prophet.
-If we are made in his image and likeness, we ought to prophesy.

A Prophet is therefore a mouthpiece of God.
-prophecy is a message borne by a Prophet.
-Prophecy is an action.
-God is the author of prophecies.

-All prophetic pronouncements outside God are lies (Lam 3:37).

Situations can be changed by faith through prophecy (The valley of dry bones Ezek).
-Mount Carmel contest of no rain.
-Dangerous voyage (Acts 27:21-22).

Prophecy without God is a lie (Lam 3:37).

It takes God and or understanding of God that knows the end from the beginning for words of prophecy to be rightly pronounced.

All genuine prophecies must aim at honouring God not man (1Cor 14:5; 2Pet 1:20-21).
-The context at Mount Carmel.
-2Pet 1:20 prophecy not of private interpretation.

Those who know and honour God can prophecy (Dan 11:32; 3:17 we will not now because we know our God will deliver us).

Today, prophecy to that your situation as the mouthpiece of God and you will see God in action as it was in Acts 3:6 - at in the beautiful gate.
- Only act within the will of God as the Prophet of God who seeks to glofy God.

*Topic:* The Power and Blessings of Maintaining Peace.

Text:- Matthew 5:9; Heb 12:14.

(November has been declared the month of bountiful harvest.
There is no bountiful harvest in the absence of peace)

*Introduction:*
Peace is a state of harmony, quiet, and freedom from conflict or violence, reflecting total control and unity. In these challenging times, peace is exactly what we need to keep going. The ultimate purpose of creation is to pursue peace, and Jesus, the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), embodies this mission. Jerusalem, meaning "teaching of peace," and the gospel of reconciliation highlight Christianity’s focus on spreading peace. As the Bible says, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God" (Matthew 5:9).

*1. Aspects of Peace:*

- *A. Absence of Conflict:* No strife, no war, no division.

- *B. Public Order:* Stability in communities, safety in societies.

- *C. Harmony:* Unity in relationships, cooperation.

- *D. Mental Tranquillity:* Inner calm, freedom from anxiety.

- *E. Quietness:* Stillness that allows focus and reflection.

*2. Actions that Lead to Peace:*

- *A. Forgiveness – The Key to Divine Providence and Grace:* "Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors" (Matthew 6:12).

- *B. Humility:* "Be humble and gentle, patient with one another in love" (Ephesians 4:2).

- *C. Tolerance:* Embracing differences, extending grace (Colossians 3:13).

- *D. Propagation of the Gospel:* Spreading the "good news of peace" (Ephesians 6:15).

- *E. Manifestation of the Gifts of the Spirit:* Love, joy, peace, patience (Galatians 5:22-23). The Spirit promotes adoption, acceptance, and grace, countering anger and intolerance.

- *F. The Presence of God’s Word:* "Acquaint yourself with Him, and be at peace" (Job 22:21-24). Meditating on Scripture brings clarity.
Psalm 119:165.

*3. The Blessings of the State of Peace:*

- *A. Joy:* "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on you" (Isaiah 26:3).

- *B. Focus on Purpose:* Peace clears mental clutter, aligning us with God’s plan.

- *C. Great Achievement:* Harmony boosts productivity and progress (Psalm 122:6-7).

- *D. Divine Presence:* "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you..." (Numbers 6:24-26). 1 kings 19:11-12.

- *E. Spiritual Enlightenment:* "The fruit of righteousness is sown in peace" (James 3:18).

- *F. Safety:* "He gives strength to the weary... they will walk and not faint" (Isaiah 40:29-31).

4. Living in peace is a guarantee for all Christians.

A. Roman 15:33: The God of peace be with you all.

B. Rm 16:20:

C. 1 Thess 5:23.

D. Heb 13:20.

E. 2 Thess 3:16.

F. 2 Cor 13:11.

G. Phil 4:9.

H. Numbers 10:10. Jesus is our peace offering. Isaiah 9:6.

I. God will grant his children peace in the midst of worries.
Gen 43.23.

*Application:*
As children of God, let’s pursue peace:
- Cultivate forgiveness, humility, and love in relationships.
- Share the gospel of peace with others.
- Stay rooted in God’s Word for inner tranquillity.

"Whose mind is stayed on thee, thou keepest in perfect peace" (Isaiah 26:3). May we be agents of peace, reflecting God’s love. Amen. 🙏
