Scripture – John 5:16-17, Proverbs 13:11

What is your mindset about work? Do you see it as a necessary evil? As suffering? Do you see it as a blessing or disruption to the blessed life? Your mindset about work will determine your approach to work, positive or negative.

THE ORIGINAL INTENTION OF GOD ABOUT WORK:
1. Work is godly – It possesses qualities, attributes and traits of God. In Genesis 1, God was introduced as a worker. It is an integral part of God’s life. Genesis 2:1-2. God’s life is work and rest. God used 6 days for work and 1 day for rest. We are created in His image, we are to function and live like Him.

If you are without work, you are not like God. Do you work? John 5:16 Work runs in the family of God. One of the ways we will know that you are part of God’s family is that you work. Working is righteousness that promotes God’s kingdom on earth.

2. Work is the demonstration of your divine nature – One of the most powerful ways to exhibit the God kind of life is through work. Because you work, you carry the God kind of life. Laziness and redundancy are opposite of God. Being a graduate or an applicant is not a profession. Your capacity to succeed is rooted in your God nature. You grow by exercising your God given potential. When you are working you are exercising yourself towards godliness and you are becoming who God wants you to be. Your advantage is in your peculiarity.
3. Work is God’s Design for Blessing you – He said to Adam to have dominion and dominate and He then put him in the garden to work it. God asked Adam to work out His dominion. His dominion will be achieved through work. Until you work, your best will not come out. The greatness in you will not manifest without work.

You can’t claim Abraham’s blessing without doing the work. Isaac even though the son of promise (Genesis 13:1-2, Genesis 25:5, Genesis 26:1-2, Proverbs 13:11), received the wealth without work so he ended up in a famine season. Genesis 26:12-13.

Isaac began to prosper and became very prosperous when he started working. Jacob invested himself in work for 20 years and came back with a huge blessing. If you work and follow God, your success will be huge.
4. Work is a curse breaker – The medicine to break free from village people is to work. Genesis 3:17 God did not curse man, He cursed the ground. But if you toil, it will give you of its fruit. Toiling and sweating are God’s productive ways to break the curse on the ground. When you enter into your God’s nature, even the cursed ground will yield harvest to you. Anytime you bring toil and sweat, you will break any curse.

You are already blessed, what is lacking is the work, you must love and appreciate work.

As you work, we declare that you will not be broke and you will not lack. Because you are blessed, you can’t be cursed, the land will answer for you, you will not be small.
