This morning, I paid a courtesy visit to Professor John Kennedy Opara, accompanied by my Chaplain, the Revd Ejike Nathaniel Ezeh; my Personal Assistant, Catechist Femi Thompson; and a brother and friend, Mr Kenneth Nwachi, a great member of our Diocese. The visit provided an opportunity to greet Professor Opara and introduce our young Keffi-Karshi Missionary Diocese to him. Professor Opara has been a good friend of the Anglican Church and a supporter of the work of God in Nigeria, and I was greatly encouraged to hear him speak briefly about his passion for serving God and contributing to the development and wellbeing of people through his various humanitarian and human-development initiatives.

Professor Opara was particularly pleased to hear of the creation of Keffi-Karshi Missionary Diocese and to know that I now serve as its Bishop, having known me from my days as General Secretary of the Church of Nigeria. His friendship with the Anglican Church has been evident over the years, and there are hardly Anglican gatherings in Abuja where Professor Opara is not present, except when he is out of town or otherwise unable to attend. He assured us of his continued goodwill and support for the Diocese, and we prayed with him, committing his life, family, work and endeavours into the hands of the LORD.

As a young Diocese, Keffi-Karshi Missionary Diocese will continue to seek the partnership and support of godly individuals and organisations in advancing God’s mission within our jurisdiction and beyond. Such partnerships enable the Church to strengthen communities, develop people and extend the Gospel through practical expressions of Christian love and service. We were grateful for the warm reception, fellowship and encouragement, and thereafter left Professor Opara to continue his engagements for the day, while I returned to the office.

Topic: *THE EXPERIENCE OF DIVINE REMEMBRANCE*
Text: *1 Samuel 1:19*

When we talk about Divine Remembrance, we are not simply talking about words; we are talking about an experience.
Divine remembrance is when God turns His attention toward a person, situation, or need and brings about a change. It is when God says,“It is time for this situation to change.”

In 1 Samuel 1:19, Hannah had prayed and waited, and the Bible says:
“And the LORD remembered her.”
God's remembrance brought an answer to a long-standing situation.
We also see God's remembrance in the lives of Isaac and Rebekah. Their stories teach us that God's timing may be different from ours, but His promises do not fail.

*KEYS TO EXPERIENCING DIVINE REMEMBRANCE*
1. The Ministry of Giving and Gifting
1 Samuel 1:11

Giving is not only about money. We can give our time, service, talents, resources, and ourselves to God.
Sometimes, what God has placed in your hand is connected to what He wants to do through your life.
Luke 6:38 reminds us that giving is part of God's kingdom principle.

2. The Ministry of Prayer
1 Samuel 1:10–11, 19

Hannah did not allow her difficult situation to stop her from seeking God.
She prayed until her situation changed.
Prayer is not merely asking God for things;
It is maintaining fellowship with God and trusting Him with our circumstances.
1 Samuel 1:19 shows the result:
“And the LORD remembered her.”
Your prayer may seem unanswered today, but delay is not necessarily denial.

3. The Ministry of a Seasoned Man/Woman of God

Eli was able to recognize what Hannah was experiencing and speak into her situation.
A mature servant of God can provide godly counsel, encouragement, correction, and spiritual direction.
We should value people whom God has placed around us to help us grow spiritually.

4. Remain Faithful While Waiting

Hannah continued to worship and participate in the things of God even before she received her answer.
Sometimes divine remembrance comes after a season of waiting.
Psalm 27:14:
“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart.”
Don't allow the length of the waiting season to make you abandon your faith.

Divine remembrance can turn prayer into testimony, waiting into celebration, and tears into joy.

Divine remembrance is not merely something we talk about; it is something we experience.
If you are trusting God for something today, continue to:
Give. Pray. Listen to godly counsel. Remain faithful.
The fact that you are waiting does not mean God has forgotten you.
When God remembers, no situation is too difficult for Him to change.

*Prayer:*
Father, remember us for good. Remember every genuine prayer, sacrifice, and service we have offered to You. Let every area of our lives that needs divine intervention experience Your remembrance. Turn our waiting into testimonies and our prayers into answers. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Aims
to study the concept of divorce in relation to biblical injunction,
to expose the gravity of adultery in a marital lifestyle, and
to establish the biblical injunction and antidote to divorce.

Introduction
Divorce usually entails the cancelling or reorganising of the legal duties and responsibilities of marriage, thus dissolving the bonds of matrimony between a married couple under the rule of law of the particular country or state. It can be said to be a legal dissolution of a marriage by a court or other competent body. However, Jesus’ injunction negates divorce in marriage but upholds the ideal of permanent marriage, making clear that divorce is equivalent to adultery in breaking the oneness of marriage. Initiating divorce or marrying a divorced person amounts to adultery (Matt 19:9). In the beginning there was no divorce and no polygyny. The first polygyny was in the race of Cain (Gen 4:19).

Study Guide
Define divorce and the biblical injunction concerning it in Malachi 2:13-16, Matt 19:4-9.

Why is adultery so grievous as to warrant divorce? Lev 20:10; Prov 5:1-6. Compare with Judges 16:4-5.

Discuss treachery and God’s injunction to it in the context of Deut 21:1 and Mal 2:13-16 and relate with gender violence in marriages especially with women as victims.

What is the antidote to divorce? Psalms 19:8;
Eph 5;25-26; Rom 12:9-10.

Conclusion
Treachery is the basis for hardness of heart in any relationship. As christian couples, we must apply the antidote of genuine love for each other by obeying all the covenanted laws of God and abiding by them in other to neutralise the poison of divorce in our marital life.

Memory Verse
Malachi 2:16 “For the LORD God of Israel says that He hates divorce, for it covers one's garment with violence,” says the LORD of hosts. “Therefore, take heed to your spirit that you do not deal treacherously."

1. In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word from the LORD, saying,
2. Thus saith the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD'S house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD'S house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them; diminish not a word:
3. If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.
4. And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,
5. To hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but ye have not hearkened;

10. When the princes of Judah heard these things, then they came up from the king's house unto the house of the LORD, and sat down in the entry of the new gate of the LORD'S house.
11. Then spake the priests and the prophets unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die; for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.
12. Then spake Jeremiah unto all the princes and to all the people, saying, The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that ye have heard.
13. Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.
14. As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seemeth good and meet unto you.
15. But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.
16. Then said the princes and all the people unto the priests and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he hath spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.
