4 REASONS I BELIEVE THE WORLD NEEDS DIVINE HEALING MORE THAN EVER
I believe we need the healing anointing in our generation more than it was needed in the days of John G. Lake, Aimee Semple McPherson, Smith Wigglesworth, Oral Roberts, T.L. Osborn, Jack Coe, and others who carried the healing ministry.
Not because medical science has failed.
Medical science has accomplished extraordinary things, and we should be grateful for the doctors, researchers, nurses, scientists, medicines, surgeries and technologies God has allowed humanity to develop.
But medicine has limits.
And the Church must never forget that Jesus Christ is still the Healer.
Here are four reasons I believe we need a fresh demonstration of divine healing in our generation:
1. THE THREATS TO HUMAN HEALTH ARE INCREASING
We live in a world where new and emerging diseases continue to appear, while old diseases continue to re-emerge.
W.H.O continues to identify emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases as significant global health threats. It has warned us that factors like global warming, climate and increased human-animal interaction can create new opportunities for diseases to emerge and spread.
We have witnessed COVID-19.
We have seen Ebola.
Mpox.
Lassa fever.
New strains of existing pathogens.
And the scientific community continues to prepare for pathogens that have not yet emerged.
The question is not whether humanity will face health challenges.
The question is: where will the Church be when they come?
We need believers who know how to pray.
We need believers who understand the authority of the name of Jesus.
We need ministers who can lay hands on the sick with faith.
We need a generation that doesn't merely talk about the supernatural but demonstrates the power of God.
2. MEDICAL SCIENCE IS GREAT, BUT IT HAS LIMITS
I thank God for medicine.
I thank God for doctors.
I thank God for hospitals.
I thank God for medical research.
But medicine was never designed to be God.
There are conditions medicine can treat.
There are conditions medicine can manage.
There are conditions medicine can cure.
And there are situations where medicine reaches its limit.
Every day, people still enter hospitals with conditions that cannot be successfully resolved.
Some receive treatment and recover.
Some receive treatment and continue to suffer.
Some eventually die.
This is not an indictment of medicine.
It is a reminder of its limitations.
I'm not rejecting medical science.
I only want us to recognize that there are dimensions of human suffering that require more than human ability.
This is where the ministry of divine healing becomes relevant.
Jesus said:
“They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
Mark 16:18
The Church must recover her confidence in the supernatural.
3. HEALTHCARE IS NOT EQUALLY ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE
One of the greatest problems with healthcare is not simply whether treatment exists.
It is whether people can afford and access it.
Millions of people live in places where quality healthcare is difficult to access or financially out of reach.
In countries where families struggle to meet basic needs, a serious medical condition can become a financial catastrophe.
Nigeria gives us a very real picture of this challenge.
When sickness comes, the question for many families is not only:
“What is wrong with me?”
It is also:
“How much will it cost to treat this?”
This is why the healing ministry of Jesus cannot become a mere theology, the world needs proofs.
If we truly believe that Jesus heals, then the Church must take that message to the sick, the poor, the forgotten, the villages, the cities, the hospitals, the streets and the nations.
The Gospel must reach people where their pain is.
And sometimes the greatest evangelistic tool God can put in our hands is not another argument, but a demonstration of His power.
4. JESUS WARNED US ABOUT EVIL THAT SHALL ACCOMPANY THE LAST DAYS
The Bible gives us a picture of increasing spiritual darkness in the last days.
Jesus spoke of deception, persecution, wickedness and the rise of evil.
Paul also warned of difficult times in the last days.
That means the Church cannot afford to become weaker in spiritual power while the world becomes darker.
We need greater faith.
We need greater consecration.
We need greater compassion.
We need greater boldness.
We need greater demonstrations of the Holy Spirit.
The early Church did not merely preach that Jesus was alive.
They demonstrated His life and power.
The world saw miracles.
The sick were healed.
The oppressed were delivered.
The Gospel advanced with signs following.
THIS IS WHY I BELIEVE WE NEED A NEW GENERATION OF HEALING MINISTERS.
Not men trying to become famous.
Not people chasing miracles for entertainment.
Not ministers turning the supernatural into a business.
But men and women who will seek God until they carry something that can bring hope to the suffering.
People who will preach Christ.
People who will pray for the sick.
People who will walk in compassion.
People who will believe God.
People who will take the healing Gospel to the nations.
Because the world doesn't just need another motivational speech.
The world needs Jesus.
And if Jesus is still the Healer, then the Church must still carry the healing message.
I believe we are entering a generation where the Church must rediscover the simplicity, authority and compassion of the healing ministry.
The sick are waiting.
The broken are waiting.
The nations are waiting.
And I believe there must arise a generation that will say:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
Hebrews 13:8
The question is not whether God still heals.
The question is whether we are willing to believe Him, seek Him, and carry His healing power to our generation.
🔥 The world needs healing.
The Church must carry the Healer.
I am raising a generation of these ministers both online and onsite, follow us.
