Good day Beloved. This evening I'm thinking of an old time question about why there is evil in the world.
Many philosophers and theologians have struggled to.proffer some answers to this problem with little success.
But I wish to add that since God is perfectly good, for God is all powerful, means that he is a being who deserves unconditional gratitute, worship and praise.
Once we realize this fact, we are to endeavor to know the goodness of God and to strive to domonstrate that conviction in our daily life whether or not people around us accept our God. Evil will not overtake the goodness of God who saw that all he created was very good.
Keep on doing the good you can and little by little, evil will disappear for the goodness of God to prevail forevermore. St. Augustine reminds us that the universe was made out of concreated matter, that is matter created simultaneously with the creation of the whole universe. Therefore, Augustine reasoned that our hearts are never at rest, until they rest in God who has set the laws and parameters of this universe.
No matter the evil around us, God's overwhelmiing mercy will lead us through his Son Jesus who overcame all evil that we may live. May God grant you a peaceful night and a perfect end amen.
Today, we celebrate St. Athanasius who was Bishop of Alexandria in North Africa, born in 295 and died in 373 CE. Athanasius fought the evil of Arianism heresy that denied the divinity of Jesus, the Son of God. On this account, he suffered several exiles by the civil authority and yet, he was steadfast in all of them.
Our Bishop, Athanasius Atule Usuh, the late Bishop Emeritus of Makurdi Diocese followed the example of his patron and worked strenuously over many years by establishing Five Catholic Dioceses of Otukpo, Lafia, Gboko, Katsina Ala and got his successor, Most Reverend Wilfred Chikpa Anagbe cmf, as the Bishop of Makurdi. What else can we expect from another Athanasius than what Bishop Usuh did for the Middle Belt Church in Nigeria.
Two yeara have gone since you passed unto the Lord Our Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. May you receive merciful judgment from God until we meet you in heaven to.part no more. Amen. P. Ajiki
