Good Friday reveals the deepest mystery of God’s love in that through the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, humanity is redeemed. The brutal crucifixion, though it appears as defeat, is in truth the moment of ultimate victory, where Christ offers Himself as the perfect sacrifice for sin, accomplishing the Atonement and restoring humanity’s relationship with God.

Within the Paschal Mystery, Good Friday stands as the turning point where mercy triumphs over sin and death, transforming the Cross from an instrument of torture into the very sign of salvation, making the darkest day in history a day of redemption.

As we venerate the Cross today, we pray for God’s mercy, now and always.

Happy Good Friday and Happy Easter!

Recognizing the needs of women as central to an effective humanitarian response, displaced women at risk, as well as women and girls of reproductive age, were recently profiled for dignity kit support through a comprehensive and well-structured assessment that enabled the identification of eligible beneficiaries and provided a clear understanding of their specific needs.

Funded by CDCS and co-implemented by Terre des hommes (Tdh) and Foundation for Justice Development and Peace (FJDP), this initiative aims to enhance the dignity, safety, and overall well-being of women and girls in IDP camps, particularly in Ortese and Daudu II. Dignity kits will be distributed to targeted beneficiaries in the coming days.

The Foundation for Justice, Development and Peace (FJDP) recently organized a 3-Day Training on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Child Protection (CP) Case Management for staff and volunteers. The training was highly engaging, featuring interactive discussions and practical learning sessions that strengthened participants’ capacity to respond effectively to GBV and child protection cases.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Terre des hommes (Tdh) team for their valuable technical support throughout the training.

Day one of the four-day Business Training and Coaching Programme under the CAFOD BRIDGE Project, implemented by Foundation for Justice Development and Peace (FJDP), commenced successfully in Yelewata community and the International Market IDPs Camp.

The programme, designed for 140 selected beneficiaries trained in tailoring, hairdressing, barbing, and local snack production (kuli kuli making), recorded an impressive turnout of 76 participants on the first day. Their active engagement demonstrated a strong commitment to strengthening entrepreneurial capacity and rebuilding sustainable livelihoods.

The intensive training and coaching sessions focus on practical business planning, financial literacy, record keeping, customer management, pricing strategies, and sustainability planning. The goal is to ensure that beneficiaries not only possess vocational competencies but are also equipped with the business acumen necessary to effectively manage and grow their enterprises.

Facilitation is being led by Msonter Samuel Ijoho of Grynbell Global Venture, whose practical and interactive delivery approach has encouraged meaningful participation and experiential learning.

Participants expressed sincere appreciation for the opportunity, emphasizing that the coaching component has strengthened their confidence and preparedness to utilize their start-up support effectively.

This initiative marks a significant step toward advancing economic empowerment, promoting self-reliance, and strengthening long-term community resilience across both locations.
