Bible Reading: 1John 1:5-7

Topic: The cleansing power of the blood in Christian Fellowship.

Christian fellowship is a divine platform where believers walk together in the light, encourage one another, strengthen their faith, and experience the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus Christ.

As we remain connected to the brethren and walk in the light, the blood of Jesus continually cleanses us from sin, guilt, and spiritual defilement. Therefore, we must never allow isolation to separate us from the fellowship where God uses others to strengthen, correct, encourage, and restore us.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me never to isolate myself from the fellowship of the brethren, but to continuously enjoy divine cleansing of the blood of Jesus Christ, which is one of the greatest benefits of Christian Fellowship. I pray in Jesus' name.

Bible Reading: Exodus 12:11-13

Topic: The blood shall be a sign for you.

The blood of the Lamb represents God's divine covering, protection, and redemption. In Egypt, the Israelites were instructed to place the blood of the Passover lamb on their doorposts, and when the Lord saw the blood, the destroyer passed over them. The blood became a visible sign that distinguished them from those marked for destruction.

Today, through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we have access to the power of His precious blood. May His blood continually speak mercy, deliverance, preservation, and victory over our lives. May every power assigned to bring destruction, calamity, premature death, or sorrow recognize the mark of the blood of Jesus upon us and pass over.

Prayer: May the blood of the lamb remain a perpetual sign for me, so that when the plague comes to destroy me, the destroyer will pass over.

Bible Reading: Galatians 3:11-13

Topic: The curse is removed.

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. Through His sacrifice on the cross, Jesus paid the price for our freedom and broke the power of every curse that stands against our lives. Therefore, we do not have to live in fear, bo***ge, failure, or the consequences of past curses. In Christ, we have redemption, freedom, and a new identity.

Today, let us stand firmly on the finished work of Christ and believe that every curse has been broken. May every evil pattern, limitation, stagnation, and negative pronouncement lose its power over our lives. We are redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and we walk in the liberty and blessings of God.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, because you became a curse on my behalf, may I carry no curse again in my life in Jesus' name on my head.

SUNDAY SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS || NKST
CHURCH LOBI MAKURDI

📖 Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 22:1–2; 1 Samuel 23:13
🎙️ Preacher: Rev. Vincent An-Or, PhD

Today’s message reminded us that God does not intend for us to accomplish every assignment alone. He places people around us to support, strengthen, and help us fulfil His purpose.

Drawing lessons from the life of David, we saw how people gathered around him and supported him through difficult seasons. Their support became an important part of his journey and success.

The preacher also reminded us of Jesus Christ, who, despite having the power and authority to accomplish His earthly ministry alone, chose twelve disciples to work alongside Him and assist in the work of advancing God’s Kingdom.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

🔹 NO ONE SUCCEEDS COMPLETELY ALONE:- God can use people around us to help us fulfil His purpose.

🔹 GODLY SUPPORT MATTERS:- David was strengthened and supported by the people who gathered around him.

🔹 JESUS DEMONSTRATED THE IMPORTANT TEAMWORK:- He called twelve disciples and entrusted them with responsibilities in the work of God.

🔹 DO NOT REJECT THE PEOPLE GOD HAS PLACED AROUND YOU:- They may be part of the answer to the assignment God has given you.

🔹 WE ARE ALL CALLED TO PARTICIPATE:- The work of God is not for one person alone; every believer has a role to play.

🔹 LEADERSHIP IS NOT DOING EVERYTHING YOURSELF:- True leadership also involves empowering others to contribute to the work.

🙏 REFLECTION

Who are the people God has placed around you to help you fulfil your purpose, and are you also willing to support others in fulfilling theirs?

May God give us the humility to receive help, the wisdom to work together, and the willingness to support one another in advancing His Kingdom. Amen.

Bible Reading: Romans 9:16

Topic: It is the Lord that shows mercy.

Life is not determined solely by human effort, strength, wisdom, or personal connections. We may run, struggle, plan, and demonstrate willingness, yet the ultimate outcome is in the hands of God. Romans 9:16 reminds us that it is not of him that wills or runs, but of God who shows mercy.

This does not mean we should stop working hard or making efforts. Rather, it teaches us to recognize that behind every success is the mercy and favour of God. When our efforts seem insufficient, His mercy can make a way where there seems to be no way. His mercy can open doors, bring divine help, restore lost opportunities, and cause us to succeed beyond what our human strength could achieve.

Therefore, instead of depending entirely on our ability, let us humble ourselves before God and seek His mercy. When God shows mercy, limitations are overcome, closed doors can open, and our lives can become testimonies of His goodness.

Prayer:
Since my running and willingness will not give me success in life, Father, I humbly come boldly to the throne of grace that I may obtain help and find mercy from the presence of the Lord.

Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 2:9

Topic: By Strength Shall No One Prevail

Human strength, wisdom, connections, and abilities are limited. There are battles and challenges that cannot be overcome by our own power alone. True victory comes from depending on God, trusting His direction, and allowing Him to order our steps. When we rely completely on God, He gives us the grace and strength to overcome obstacles and succeed where our human efforts may fail.

Prayer: My God, since no one can prevail by strength, guard my feet and lead me in the path of success and victory. Help me to depend on You in every situation, strengthen me when I am weak, and guide my steps according to Your will. Amen.

Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 9:11

Topic: Time and Chance

Time and chance remind us that life is not determined by human strength, wisdom, intelligence, or ability alone. There are moments when God causes opportunities, favour, and circumstances to align in ways beyond our understanding. May we therefore trust God, remain prepared, and believe that He can make our appointed time a season of divine opportunities and favourable outcomes.

Prayer: My Lord and my God, since the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, I pray that Nigeria will not happen to me in the negative, but let time and chance happen to me from the presence of the Lord in the most favorable way.

Bible Reading: Philippians 4:4

Topic: Choose to rejoice.

Rejoicing is not always a response to favourable circumstances; sometimes, it is a deliberate choice to trust God even when life does not make sense. Paul’s instruction to “rejoice in the Lord always” reminds us that our joy should not be determined by what we are going through, but by who God is.

When we choose to rejoice, we declare that God remains faithful, good, and worthy of praise despite our present situation.

Therefore, choose to rejoice today. Even when there seems to be nothing to celebrate, let your heart find joy in the Lord, knowing that He is working behind the scenes and that your present circumstances do not have the final say. Rejoice in the Lord always!

Prayer: In my present situation, I may not have anything to rejoice about, but I take to Your instruction and have decided to rejoice in the Lord my God. So help me God.

Bible Reading: Nehemiah 8:9-10

Topic: The joy of the Lord.

The joy of the Lord is a divine strength that enables us to remain hopeful and steadfast even in difficult seasons. It is not dependent on our circumstances, but flows from knowing that God is with us and that He remains faithful. When challenges, disappointments, or the vicissitudes of life weaken us, God’s joy can renew our hearts and give us the strength to keep moving forward.

May we never allow our circumstances to silence our praise or change our confession. Even when things are difficult, may our hearts continually declare, “The joy of the Lord is my strength.”

Prayer: Lord, when my strength fails me because of the vicissitudes of this life, generate Your joy in me so that no matter what I'm passing through in life, my confession remains constant, “The joy of the Lord is my strength.”
