*SUB-THEME: THE FAMILY AND THE GRACE OF GOD*

*INTRODUCTION*

Humility is the product of God's grace. Man is justified freely by God's grace through the redemptive work of Christ Jesus (Rom. 3:24). God intends for the family to enjoy His grace. Therefore, the focus for this month is *"The Family and the Grace of God."* We shall study how the family should live and display grace to one another. As we examine how grace should be displayed in family relationships, may we be willing to learn and change our graceless attitudes where necessary so that our homes may fulfil God's desire for families.

*Memory Verse for the Month: Proverbs 3:34*
_He mocks proud mocker but gives grace to the humble and oppressed._

*TUESDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER, 2026*

*TEXT: GENESIS 1:26-27*

26. _Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”_
27. _So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them._

*TOPIC: FAMILY INSTITUTED BY GOD*

The creation of man in God's image is simply by grace. Man did nothing to merit that. God foresaw that man would need a companion, so, in creation, a provision was made for the woman. Today's passage makes it clear that God created the female alongside the man, thought not visibly seen. That is why, at the right time, God only needed to make visible the woman who was in man (Gen. 2:18, 21-22). Indeed, this is the institution of the family. The understanding that God is the originator of the family is enough to make humanity respect the family setup. You are counselled to seek God's will and directions in seeking a life partner because He knows the person who can help fulfil His mandate or purpose in life.

*REFLECTION:* _The family is God's initiative._

*PRAYER:* _Lord, thank you for the gift of my family. Amen._

*WEDNESDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER, 2026*

*TEXT: GENESIS 2:18-23*

18. _The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”_
19. _Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name._
20. _So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found._
21. _So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh._
22. _Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man._
23. _The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”_

*TOPIC: WIFE: A GIFT TO THE HUSBAND*

God declared that it is not good for the man to be alone. This statement is a clear expression of His grace towards him. God decided to meet man's needs. From the man, a rib was taken and made into a wife. She was brought to the man, and he recognised her as bone and flesh of himself. Proverbs 18:22 says, "He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favour from the Lord." A wife who fails to present herself as a favour to her husband has been unable to recognise her worth as a precious gift from God. Women ought to cherish and submit to their husbands as God intends. You are a good gift from God to your husband. Hence, do not be troublesome such that your husband will desire happiness outside the home (Prov. 27:15-16).

*REFLECTION:* _Wives are gifts from God._

*PRAYER:* _Lord, thank you for the gift of wives. Amen._

*MONDAY 31ST AUGUST, 2026*

*TEXT: JEREMIAH 29:11-13*

11. _For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future._
12. _Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you._
13. _You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart._

*TOPIC: FUTURE ASSURED*

While our parents may plan for our future, God's plan for us is always perfect in timing and direction. His plans are always good, filled with hope and purpose. When we align with His will and seek Him wholeheartedly, we can be confident of a secure and fulfilling future. Even in times of hardship or uncertainty, like the current killings and land grabbing, God is not absent. He may be shaping a brighter future for us, just as He did for the people of Judah. The message of this text reflects God's unchanging character towards His people. His plans are always for peace and restoration, not harm. When we seek Him sincerely and pray, He listens and reveals Himself to us. The wicked may flourish, but for a short time (Ps. 92:27).

*REFLECTION:* _Believe that God has an assured future for you._

*PRAYER:* _Lord, help me to seek you wholeheartedly. Amen._

Yayin da iyayenmu za su iya yin shiri don rayuwarmu na gaba, shirin Allah a gare mu koyaushe cikakke ne cikin lokaci da jagora. Shirinsa koyaushe yana da kyau, cike da bege da manufar. Sa’ad da muka daidaita da nufinsa kuma muka nemi shi da zuciya ɗaya, za mu iya kasancewa da amincewa da cewa za mu yi nasara da aminci.

Ko a lokacin wahala ko rashin tabbas, kamar kashe-kashen da ake yi a yanzu da ƙasar, Allah yana nan. Wataƙila yana tsara mana makoma mai kyau kamar yadda ya yi wa mutanen Yahuda. Sa’ad da muka nemi Allah, yana nuna halin Allah marar canzawa ga mutanensa. Kullum shirye-shiryensa na zaman lafiya ne da maidowa, ba cutarwa ba.

Sa’ad da muka nemi shi da gaskiya kuma muka yi addu’a, yana saurara kuma ya bayyana kansa gare mu. Mugaye suna iya bunkasa, amma na ɗan lokaci kaɗan (Zab. 92:7).

ABIN TUNANI:

“Ka yi imani cewa Allah yana da tabbaci a gare ka.”

Ubangiji, ka taimake ni in neme ka da zuciya ɗaya. Amin.
