WISDOM FOR THE DAY
FRIDAY, 1ST NOVEMBER 2024
THEME: YOU ARE CHOSEN TO BE CHRIST’S AMBASSADOR

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9 (KJV)

Today, we have a clientele of believers who do not understand the purpose of salvation. Yes, salvation is free. It is God’s gift to mankind. But it came at a cost: the death of Christ on the cross. And His death was not in vain. If God’s singular intention for you was only to get you saved, then He would have called you to heaven immediately after you got born again. You then would have no business being here on earth. But He hasn’t done that because there is a purpose for you to fulfil.

As believers, we are a chosen, royal, holy, and peculiar people. But the critical question is: For what? What have I been chosen for? Why has God, in His wisdom, separated me from the pack? Child of God, there is a reason! God is a God of plan, purpose and objectivity. So, there is a purpose for everything He does! The continuing part of the verse spells out this plan clearly, and it is “that ye should SHEW FORTH the praises of Him…” Did you see that? You are called out to be God’s Ambassador on earth!

As God’s ambassador here on earth, there is a standard that He expects of you. Your lifestyle, conduct, language, and actions must conform to His identity. Just like in the natural, an ambassador of a country is an official envoy and highest-ranking diplomat who represents his country in a foreign land. Because of his appointment, he is duty-bound to protect the interest of his country and should at every point, portray his country of origin in a good light through his lifestyle, words, actions and general conduct. That is the same way you, as a believer, are duty-bound, irrespective of where you find yourself, to be a good representative of God’s Kingdom.

WISDOM FOR THE DAY
STAND STILL (DAY 31: 2 Corinthians 7:1)
THURSDAY, 31ST OCTOBER 2024
THEME: TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” 3 John 2 (KJV)

God’s paramount desire for you as a believer is the prosperity and health of your spirit, soul and body. He desires that every part of your body should function in the perfection He created. When an individual is sick, everything is put on hold at that period to treat the body. Man is a spirit being, but our bodies give us the license to function here on earth. The body is the vehicle through which you fulfil God’s plan and purpose. And so, proper care and attention must be given to the body.

The problem with many believers is that they tend to spiritualise everything, even their health. And anyone taking care of their health is seen as lacking in faith. But I want you to set aside that notion. Yes, prayers, fasting, and declaring the word over our lives in the area of our health are vitally important, but it is important to act according to what you are declaring. You cannot declare one thing and act another. It doesn’t work that way. The Bible says faith without works is dead (James 2:26). When we stand in faith, we must act according to what we believe.

Beloved, take care of your health and don’t take things for granted. Do not only pray and declare the Word, also make sure that you educate yourself on the importance of taking care of your body. As you do your part, I pray your health will not fail. Sickness and disease will not come near you. You will walk in divine health. Sickness will not cut your life short. Sickness, disease and afflictions will have no dwelling place in your body. The price has been fully paid for you to enjoy good health. “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes, we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5 KJV)

WISDOM FOR THE DAY
STAND STILL (DAY 30: Psalm 127:2)
WEDNESDAY, 30TH OCTOBER 2024
THEME: REST YOUR CASE AT THE FEET OF CHRIST

“But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (KJV)

Today, I want to encourage you always to find time to sit at the Master’s feet. Beloved, these are not the days to be careless about how you live your life. You must have a place where you sit down to glean from and receive from Him; otherwise, the enemy will take advantage of you. There is so much happening in the society today. And all these things are the enemy’s tricks to keep you from sitting. If the enemy can keep you from sitting down to receive from God, then he has got you because it is only from God that you receive hope, faith, strength, and courage for everyday living.

Everything is fast paced today. We wake up and leave for work early, only to return late. The weekends are included; they are just as busy. We are often burdened with work, classes, children, and family. And the list goes on. However, in the midst of all this, you must find time to sit at the feet of Jesus. Make it a point of duty to do so. There is absolutely no substitute for this.

In Him, we live, move and have our being. Outside Him, we are non-existent. Thank God for technology! Now, we have various resources: the devotional app, the bible app, podcasts, and others, all at the touch of a button. So, you have no excuse. Remember what Jesus told Martha: “……. thou art careful and troubled about many things: but one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part…” (Luke 10:41-42 KJV). One thing is needful! As believers, we must incline our ears to His word.

God has all the answers you need to whatever life throws at you. Therefore, make a quality decision to sit at His feet. Don’t put God on your schedule or timetable; Martha probably did. According to her, food should have been served before everything else. But Jesus thought otherwise. He is the sovereign God!

WISDOM FOR THE DAY
STAND STILL (DAY 25: Isaiah 2:2)
FRIDAY, 25TH OCTOBER 2024
THEME: RECEIVE WHAT THE LORD HAS PROVIDED

“He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”. John 1:11-12 (KJV)

When you receive Jesus, you are given the power to become the sons of God. To those who received Jesus, He gave the power to receive healing, the power to prosper, and the power to overcome challenges in life. God wants you to rest in His finished works. Stop this doing mode the devil has put you in. What must I do to be blessed? What must I do to prosper? What must I do to live? The result is that when you discover you cannot do it, you get frustrated and walk away defeated.

There is this difficulty in simply accepting that you are blessed. Why is it so difficult for you to accept what has been done? It is simply stretching your hand and taking what has been provided. The book of Matthew 22:1 tells us that many were invited to the wedding of the king’s son. He had prepared his banquet, but they would not come. He sent forth other servants to inform those invited that dinner was ready. But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise. All things were ready, but the guests chose to do something else. They rejected the offer because they had to do something. What they were looking for was on the table. All that was required was for them to come and eat.

According to the king, the wedding is ready, but those invited are unworthy to attend. What made them unworthy? They were unworthy simply because they refused to receive what had been provided for them. The Kingdom provides everything. The guests only had to receive it. That is all the believer is called to do. No toiling! Just sit down and receive. Today, I urge you to receive what the Lord has provided.

WISDOM FOR THE DAY
STAND STILL (DAY 24:Numbers 14: 6-24, 38)
THURSDAY, 24TH OCTOBER 2024
THEME: DARE TO BELIEVE

“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth” Mark 9:23 (KJV)

Today, I want to dare you to believe God for anything. Is God ready to bless you? The answer is YES. In fact, God is not ready to bless you; He has already blessed you. He has blessed you with every blessing you need (Eph.1:3).

Remember, the spiritual controls the natural. So, if you have all spiritual blessings, the physical blessings will follow. That is how it works. Every blessing you need is available; what can you believe God for?

Many today are struggling and toiling every day to make ends meet. But the Word declares that you’re an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ. You have an inheritance in Christ, who owns the world and everything in it. The Bible says, “The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” (Psalm 24:1). The world belongs to God and by relationship, being His heir, all things belong to you; therefore, you need not struggle. Can you dare to believe this?

The Bible says Abraham “…staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God” (Romans 4:20). How did his wealth come? The Bible says God blessed him: “…I will bless thee and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed” (Genesis 12:2-3). And Abraham believed God.

I challenge you in the same way to believe God today. Take time to read and meditate on Genesis 13:2, Genesis 24:5, and Galatians 3:9, and let them come alive in you. Find all the scriptures that talk about your heritage in Christ. Believe them, hook, line and sinker. Declare them daily over your life and see your life turn in the direction of the word, for as a man thinks in His heart, so he is.
