Sermon Title: “The God Who Still Touches”
Text: Exodus 15:26:I am the LORD, who heals you.”_James 5:15“The prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up.”_
1. God’s Name is Healer
From Genesis to Revelation, God introduces Himself as Jehovah Rapha - “The LORD that heals you”. He didn’t change. Malachi 3:6 says “I the LORD do not change.”
When Israel was dying from snake bites in the wilderness, God didn’t give a lecture. He gave a bronze serpent. When a look of faith touched it, healing came. The miracle wasn’t in the bronze. The miracle was in the God behind it.
2. Jesus Came Healing, Not Just Teaching*
Matthew 4:23 says Jesus went about _“healing every disease and sickness among the people.”_ He touched lepers when religion said “don’t touch.” He spoke to the woman with 12-year bleeding and called her “Daughter.” He looked at blind Bartimaeus and said “What do you want me to do for you?”
He still asks us that question today. He’s not too busy for your pain. Miracles are His love language. Healing is His nature.
3 Keys That Unlock Healing & Miracles
1. Faith, not doubt
: Mark 9:23 – _“Everything is possible for one who believes.”_ Faith is not pretending pain isn’t there. Faith is saying “God, I trust You even with this pain.”
2. Prayer + Action: James 5:14 says “call the elders, anoint with oil, pray.” God works through prayer, through doctors, through medicine, through partners like you. Don’t despise the process.
3. Testimony: Revelation 12:11 – _“They overcame by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”_ When God heals you, talk about it. Your story becomes someone else’s faith.
4. But What If Healing Hasn’t Come Yet?
Paul prayed 3 times for his “thorn” to be removed. God said “My grace is sufficient.” 2 Corinthians 12:9. Sometimes God’s miracle is instant healing. Sometimes it’s strength to endure. Sometimes it’s peace in the hospital room. All of it is God touching you.
Don’t measure God’s love by one prayer. Measure it by the cross. If He gave His Son, He won’t withhold healing that’s best for you.
Altar Call
Close your eyes where you are. Place your hand on the part of your body that hurts. The same hand that formed Adam from dust, that touched blind eyes and made them see, that raised Lazarus after 4 days - that hand is reaching for you now.
Pray with me: “Lord Jesus, You are Jehovah Rapha. I believe You still heal. I bring my body, my mind, my past to You. Touch me now. Amen
